Technically speaking, this is the 9th game made using the classic engine (jump, slide, charge, max health already available, no wall jumping). You could technically consider this game Megaman 9 in that sense. Its just not titled Megaman 9.

Actually not, japanese release date for Rockman 8 on the PS1 is 12/17/96, Date for Rockman & Forte is 04/24/98. The internal ROM Header calls it Rockman 8.5.

MegaMan 9 is going out for the Wii Hardware which the graphics is for NES-Style MegaMan Games. Do a little search and see what I mean

this is megaman and bass ( this is based off the megaman 8 story line /game with extras like u play with bass and fight some other bosses. they only made this cuz megaman 8 sold a lot anf their were many fan and ppl who wanted 2 play with bass cuz he wasnt playable in the orginal megaman 8 he was partly an ememy and a support in the orginal megaman 8. So this like megaman 8.5

Yes it is a great game. Too bad it only came out on the Japanese Famicom. But no worries, now we have ZNES emulators and can play it. When I got the translator for Final Fantasy V it also translates this game into English too. Awesome.
