@Christian72D I am sure that is possible, and would be a great advance. You will probably have to 1) make your own cable, 2) figure out if the signal sent by your Epic is safe for the camera USB port, and 3) maybe write a script for CHDK to interpret that signal and release the shutter. It has been done before with certain versions of Gigapans, and you might be able to find more info out there.
Is it possible to remove mechanic push button?
I have a Canon SX30IS with CDHK firmware so i could use a USB remote cable instead of this.

Looks like I'll have to go with the Epic Pro if I want to use my SLR. My lenses are too big around.
