@Rareenergy It's only sick in a few people's minds.I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping dead animals, so y'know... She's not alone in her thought either.I don't know why some people assume anyone who likes dead things is 'sick minded',when they are just capable of admiring the beauty of the deceased. I'm training to be a vet while working part time at a wildlife rehabilitation centre, and I take a lot better care of my pets than some people do. This lady obviously cares for this fox
@xavieronrottie you are so right! i know this video was posted like, what, 4 years ago? but i love foxes and i wish i had one! hunting alot of things are wrong. hell hunting is wrong preriod. but we hafta eat. whats the point of furs and skins from animals huh? aboslutly nothing! sure, hunting deer for venison means we need food. but we hunt foxes for what reason again? nothing. i wish i had a fox...
@Pahvilaatikko15 I believe it's even more sick that you would prefer this animal risk being shot and turned into a coat. This fox is obviously healthy and happy, it doesn't matter where in the world it lives as long as that is the case. You should be ashamed of yourself.
@eppichapnasty it's clear no mater what I say even though I know what the hell I'm talking about your going to say other wise. Please show me the proof of your research then. As I can point you to plenty of sources.
I really don't see a problem in keeping a fox as a pet, they are considered part of the dog family right? So why are they treated the way they are and other pet dogs, who have been accepted into society, aren't? I mean I'm sure at one point all dogs were wild at some point, but were made domesticated. Why can't foxes be our friends like other dogs are?
@PuffyAmiYumi what you see is one of the best examples. humans just didnt decide one day "Imma go an' get me some animal buddies" it was mutual. they came to us as much as we went to them
@blizzardballz I just think it's a shame that for some reason these are considered vermin, despite being a dog, and how most of society turns against them when we could just accept them like other dogs.
@PuffyAmiYumi I know exactly what you mean. through out the '90s in the the place I grew up there were no fox....none. I'm not sure if it was people killing them or just pollution. but they are back and couldn't be happier (even though when I refer to them I usually include the word "stupid" of course I do that with every animal)
@blizzardballz I also heard that if Coyotes are in the area they will chase out Foxes and kill them to take over their territory. By me we have alot of Coyotes and I never seen a Fox around before also Coyotes seem to be taking territories which were once inhabited by Wolves. If we get the Wolves back they will for sure deal with the Coyotes and cut down their population.
wtf thats not funny get the dog off of him even if you own a fox its not cool to domesticate him you better make him make that dog repect him dog knocked his head into the door and got all in his face
I hope it's illegal here in Aus to keep foxes . They may look cute and cuddling in the video but they are utter vermin and destroy native wildlife populations. This is why I always speed up when I see them on the highway.
@Blazingwheel Depends on where you live. Some places you don't need a permit and others you do. It just depends on your state and city laws. Fennic foxes are being sold as pets legally.
What an awesome animal, and it's good you helped him. Are you planning to keep him or return him to the wild? I guess if he seems happy with you, you may as well keep him. I didn't think a fox would be able to be domesticated enough to live indoors w/ a human.
@freshazimiz4 Most likely not, a lot of states do not allow wild pets, but as long as you don't stroll around town with it or tell everyone about it, you'll be fine.

@xaviervonrottie thank you for the advice and everything that an owner can take care a fox because you said before that a foxes killed in a farm fur. so again thanks
@chimichanga1254 yes and no. it's just you need a permit, and each state has their own laws for each type of animal. and some states won't allow you to have certain animals as pets. just goes state by state really what kind of animal you can have as a pet and what you need to do to have them as such. =)
aww where did you get him is he tame is he really your pet? will he sit with you? we hade a pet racoon his name was coony he sat with me and slept with me in the bed and he allways was hanging on me..litterally when we went outside he wouldent go unless he was on my back or neck

@KrionStudio You make me laugh. What if a dog accidentally bites? Those things are dangerous too. What about hamsters or cats or birds or..... You get my drift. Don't be daft. Anything can be dangerous. People like you are the reason animals get flack for being themselves.
@agpleez yes ..... you are right. Sorry just an instinctive way of thinking :(. Its just that when I see it and does teeth I remember the fairy tales and how it is described as a beast. Maybe you are right.... maybe its the same thing with wolves they could be dangerous( but that is more different because they are maybe even more wild). I wonder if animals know and understand when you help them. I have 2 turtles and once one of them was sick and I cured it. It got friendlier. Is it possible ?
@KrionStudio Yes it's possible. Animals know when we help them. And trust me - foxes are every bit as wild as wolves. There's no "more dangerous" or "less dangerous". Sorry for the way I replied before, it's just that I see that kind of thing and it makes my blood boil. I don't like it when people can't see the wood for the trees - especially when the topic is animals.
@agpleez yeah I know I'm normally that kind of person, but its just that some animals at first look different . I couldn't stand foxes because they look sneaky and like cheats and seductive. I hate people that are like that ,but I guess that its just because of the generations of folklore and all. i understand what you meant by your blood boils. I am like that about animals like squirrels, chipmunks, chinchilla, turtles and frogs. I hate when someone says "Look this is stupid, Dogs are better"
Actually, it's both illegal and highly dangerous to keep a fox as a pet. Fox are wildlife and are not meant to be kept as a pet. What you're doing is both harmful to you and the animal. Fox are a rabies vector species & rabies is both highly contagious and fatal. You're imprinting the animal and that isn't fair as it will cause the animal distress and confusion in the long run. I recommend you call your local wildlife rehabilitation center and speak with them & get yourself tested for rabis!
Please take note: Wildlife animals are not pets. If you should ever find a baby, do not feel like a hero... call your local Department of Natural Resources to find a rehabilitation facility in your area. These animals are not made to live in a house. Keeping a wild animal is wrong. Thank You.
@stlbornstlwalkin Yep, these basta-I mean, uncivilized gentlemen (>.>) kill innocent creatures. They kill deer mostly, and (from what I know) squirrels, foxes, bears, rabbits (not completely sure) and whatever else that moves in the forest... They seem to just want to enlarge their own ego by killing something with a gun. If they want to prove their macho status, go kill a bear WITHOUT a gun. Good chance they won't come back (and good riddance).
@vgman94 you kill animals for food. all the hunters i know have a great respect for the animals they hunt. though there are some assholes who are like what you descibe.
How in the bloody hell do ya domesticate a fox? We have several in my neighborhood, and while they run away from humans, I'd be wary of having one in my house.
@Skizz1979 A friend of my dads found a fox pup in poor health on the side of the road in the raid (its mother was hit by a car and dead nearby) and he nursed it back to health and it was domesticated for 3-4 years, had no trouble with him or his other dogs ever. It actually would hop in his truck bed drive around with him. But one day for no reason he could figure out it put the teeth to one of his dogs pretty bad then took off and he never saw it ever again. Never know with any wild animal.
@DamTreeHuggers Fox don't make great attackers, they'd rather run and cower than stand and fight, let alone turn on you. There not domesticated because, they don't stay in one place, it would be cruel to domesticate because they are scared of humans. Obviously apart from the rare few like this one.
@theninjamofo Depends on the laws of the country, the state/province/prefecture, and the community. For example, the American state of Pennsylvania might allow pet foxes, but the city of Philadelphia might not. Similarly, the Kyoto prefecture of Japan might NOT allow pet foxes, even though Japan at a national level might allow them.
I suggest that you research the laws at all levels.
@TYHYCHY Dont torture your new pet by allowing it to get the scent of the dead one!!!! Totally cool to stuff your dog, but dont put old sparky near puppy ruff ruff's food bowl!!!!

I recommend you call your local wildlife rehabilitation center and speak with them & get yourself tested for rabis!

@GameONCommunity you dont know what you are talking about. dogs can carry rabies but they dont, why? Because they are pets and well cared for!
so is he! if he was rabid he would be looking like a zombie

Skizz1979 1 year ago
@Skizz1979 A friend of my dads found a fox pup in poor health on the side of the road in the raid (its mother was hit by a car and dead nearby) and he nursed it back to health and it was domesticated for 3-4 years, had no trouble with him or his other dogs ever. It actually would hop in his truck bed drive around with him. But one day for no reason he could figure out it put the teeth to one of his dogs pretty bad then took off and he never saw it ever again. Never know with any wild animal.

Wow can you house train it like a dog? Id be scared if it turned on me. There no domesticized.
DamTreeHuggers 1 year ago
