  • I just put my headphones on, and drift away. Masterpiece.

  • 3:32 must have been like the end of the world. I can't think of anything heavier in the 70's.

  • This album is so 1970's, so under-engineered -like the cars of the epoch.

    I think that's why I love it.

Creativity is closely tied to libertarianism.

  • The Straightener....the best outro ever made in history!!!!!

  • One of my favourit songs. Ozzy signed my LP vol4 when he was in Trondheim-Norway John from Norway

  • sabbath was the daddies of the break/bridge if you ask me...great album...great band

  • fuck...this album is just amazing..

  • Lost in the wheels of confusion

    Running through valleys of tears

    Eyes full of angered delusion

Hiding in everyday fears \m/ heaviest band of all time

  • THIS IS THE BEST ON VINYL. SUCH A STUNNER!

  • No dis-likes. Fuck yeah.

  • Soon the days were passing into years, happiness just didn't come so easy.

  • If barack Obama was president of a bank or aconvenient store,or any private company,he would have been fired or Iran and Al Qaeda would have taken it over.Raised Americas debt more than any 15 presidents combined ,zero on unemployment ,the 10 million people who ran out of unemployment and still dont have work dont count as unemployed.

  • @dchoran1 WTF does that have to do with this song?

  • @dchoran1 :thefuck:

  • @dchoran1

Funny isn't it. Nobody would dare run their businesses like the government , yet we all worship them like they know a thing or two.

  • The godfathers of all modern metal....f__k yeah!

  • used to wait for my mom an dad to go shoppin on saturday afternoon then i would play this full volume what memories

  • Amazing song.

  • Great Music from one of my most favourite bands. As child of the sixties I went for Black Sabbath, (Inspired by the album of the Who 'Live at Leeds '68). When Ozzy left the group my interest for Black Sabbath vanished. Till the album with Ronnie James Dio 'Heaven and Hell' with great guitarplaying. Thanks for uploading

  • THANKS! GREAT GREAT MEMORIES FOR ME

  • you can tell when it's a good tune...when your at a party and everyone stops talking

  • The Straightener is fucking incredible!

    Holy shit.

  • I listen to this song intently....

  • it's a great song and a shame that there is only two live recordings of it and neither one included the straightener part weird

  • Man I LOVE Vol. 4

  • 58,450 views. Zero dislikes. There is hope for the future.

  • now this is rock!

  • Get well soon, Tony!!!

  • if you listen carefully to the original .... you can hear them rewind a tape. In the back ground.

I am not a conspiracy type. This recording has features that can only be heard/noticed, upon close inspection. If you can hear it .... the rewind feature can be heard at around.. the Verse starting at 4:15 .

  • @intraining01 There are all kinds of legends surrounding the early Black Sabbath albums. According to some, many of the recordings from the third and fourth albums were initially made at much faster or slower speeds, then manipulated.

  • This was SO HEAVY when I first bought it back in 1972, I needed two buddies to come along and help me carry it home! It's still heavy as fuck!

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN - Dude i was there!

  • essa musica é do caralho!

  • i'm so stoned

  • I gotta give this one up to my old man, who shaped my musical taste from age 4 to about age 14. I was lucky to grow up in a cool household where my parents weren't prudes who shyed me away from great music. Earlier days were spent finding his old cassettes like AC/DC Back In Black /Highway to Hell, Deep Purple's Greatest Hits, Black Sabbath Paranoid and so on. But when I was around 9 he began buying up CDs of his favorite old bands, he came home with Volume 4 and I was never the same again lol

  • the sun falling down into the sea. this is the end.....helterskelter lennon- the pigs..manson.

  • Don't ask me to pick a favorite Sabbath album.

    It is impossible !

  • 5:20- mmm... lovely!

  • About five and a half minutes in and until the end of the song, we are treated to what may be the greatest outro ever.

  • @FriendlyShadow1 great comment : )

  • What a song. I'm 57 years old now, but when I first heard this song in USAF basic training in 1973 I fell in love with it. When I went home on leave in April 1973, I played it on the record player. My mom, who turned 76 this month, went thropugh the living room where the stereo was and said, "Who's that? That music makes you feel good!" Ya know what, my mom, who is a devout Christian, is still a rock-and-roller today. I love her so very much.

  • Very fond memories of having this tune bring the speakers of my first car to the brink of catastrophic failure.

  • One great rock song played in B and a few others.

  • Sabbath The Great!

  • I can remember my Auntie Phyllis giving me this album for my birthday many long years ago. She figured I was turning 14 and had already blown my mind, so this was merely the dessert after the main course.

So sadly Auntie Phyllis passed away this past summer, almost 81. She maintained an interest in alternative music and other aspects of culture right up until the end. She may very well have been the only woman in her age category who knew who The Dayglo Abortions were. Cheers, Auntie Phyllis!

  • @jannyrcobs YO MAN! HERES TO AUNTIE PHYLLIS! IM GONNA DO 1 FOR HER ,THEN 1 FOR ME MAN. SHE SOUNDS LIKE THE AUNT EVERY KID NEEDS!!!! OLD DONT MEAN USELESS,IT MEAN FUCKIN WISE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @IRONWORKERFROMHELL1 Right on! How times have changed! I'm old enough to remember the days when young people were still allowed to grow up--at their own pace. The governments and teachers wonder how come teens today don't even know who Sir Winston Churchill was. Is it any wonder, when young people are told what they can and cannot eat on school property, and aren't allowed to camp out even in the backyard? I can actually remember when teens could smoke on the school buses! Cheers, Auntie!

  • @jannyrcobs wearin a dayglo tour shirt right now, the one with the 5 skulls wearin maple leaf bandanas. RIP Auntie

  • @jannyrcobs phyllis phucking rulz!!

  • @jannyrcobs RIP Auntie Phyllis.Wish i had an aunt as cool as that..

  • @jannyrcobs Auntie Phyllis sounds like she was a righteous aunt! My late stepmother once got me a copy of the Pistols LP,and even tho i already had it,she remarked "I know this isnt the really sick shit you listen to but this was the best i could do around here"..still have that LP and wont part with it.

  • 5:15

  • They where the best....:O and they are still

  • Yo MushroomCloud22, Thanks for the Memories!

  • @tsrwalltucky Mate, thanks for listening...its a pleasure

  • I'm gone to another universe

  • The Straightener is one of the best fucking instrumentals ever

  • This was one song that turns your innerself from positive to blackness in the end a true classic.

  • Whenever I hear this intro, I can almost smell the weed.

  • @svg1848

well then, please do me a favor and

    PASS THAT JOINT MY WAY!

  • @svg1848 They were doing much more than just weed when they recorded this album my friend.

  • @manakerito But I don't do more than that when I listen to it =D

  • @manakerito prolly the same shi I was..... purple pegasus and red snailstar..... ;>)

  • damn...

  • Powerful Music

  • Beginning = Orgasm.

  • @Wyndrax more like eargasm lol

  • @yyz310 Cool braa im stoned to lmao

  • I just gotta give a shout out to Bill Ward. He kicked ass in this song, so energetic, playful, and powerful was his drum playing. He got soul brotha lol

  • great

  • Tony Iommi is incredible, always loved his work, it is really just great blues

  • This has always been a November album for me. Bare trees and vast expanses . . . .

  • I just adore part from 5:14 till end. And it's not much related to the rest of the song...

  • @jaganjacfan huuuh? its totally related to wheels of confusion. See, wheels of confusion is about inner turmoil, crookedness, and difficulty finding one's way in life, while the straightener provides the solution to the problems: accepting reality, the universe working itself out, straightenening- bing, bing, bing, bing...bing bing- so hypnotic

  • @jamierphipps1 LOL!!!!

  • @jaganjacfan

    that part is magnificant.

  • I have this lp, i'm selling it. soo good though.

  • Riff at beginning is truly amazing.. that doesn't say the rest of the song isn't though!

  • This song defies description!I've lived it!as have many!So I have found that ;ife is just a game -don't you know there's never been a winner?;

  • This song defies description!I've lived it!as have many!

  • The start gives me chills.....

  • Who writes an Eviler riff than Tony? A Sabbath masterpiece. Still kicks ass.

  • This music needs no video. I mean... is anyone gonna watch the screen when this helps us escape reality for a few minutes?? Just throwin' it out there!! Woohoo!!

  • I definitely owe everything I am today to Black Sabboth. I am a vegetable in an insane asalynm but everone else around me is a fruit. somehow I know any moment now Superman or Underdog will rescue me. Polly Pure Bred's room is next to mine. She said that purring like a cat will help them believe I'm sane. But I really think the catnip helps me get to sleep.

  • I'm just had some type of out of body experience while listening to this

  • Yeah it's called: "The effects of copious amounts of blow and weed combined with some very talents rock/blues musicians who founded metal". Simply divine! Glad they are putting out a new album! .... sans the blow...of course! ;-) although seeing Ozzy's heart pop out on stage would sort of "cap the night" as they say...

  • dude your playlist rocks!!!

  • This was the last Sabbath LP I bought in the 70's. I wasn't crazy about it then. Like it better now ... strange. Their self title debut LP was and always will be my favorite.

  • Black Sabbath are back! they've been my favorite since I was born, and I definitely would not be where I am today without them, and now that the original lineup is back, everything just feels right again!

  • toni iommi made ozzy stand stage left while he took centre stage, weird but if that's what it takes to make volume 4 i'll take it.

  • excellent!!!

  • Love the Richard Nixon peace shit!

  • Best track, off the best sabbath album by far

  • i reckon this is sabbath's most inaccessible album, this song especially, it's not as immediate in its riffage as sabbath usually were

  • @fuckamericanidiot Supernaut and Snowblind are

  • @Luxmaxnike i agree

  • This is the music I grew up with and still love....even now that I am old and have heard this track 1000s of times, when they go into the instrumental at 5.14 my heart still skips a beat. Saw them live several times in the 70s...greatest concerts ever!

  • @CrashHolly1 Hey! I'm a kid of today and I hate all those sell outs. it's all about metal! There is still some hope for this generation.

  • why did Dio have to be the one who didn't sell out.

  • @jeezjacob yeah, and subsequently die. And Sabbath didn't sell out

  • 2:53-3:30 is probably my favorite guitar part in this song.

  • I wish the intro and outro to this song would never end.

  • @Hektor7788 Yeah I find the intro so fucking amazing that I was kinda dissapointed by the transition. In my opinion I was thinking that a sad melodic bassline with cleantone guitar accents woul have fit better, good song nonetheless.

  • Tom Wilson

all you young sound engineers ,, if you havent got this and zep 4 in your collection you have learnt fuck all,, you can have your flat digital crap sound this is so much better go old analogue,, the way forward,,

same as maceMn,, i dug this and zep and hawkwind et al ,, all at the time,, a lost dream lads, nothing but fags, posers and lightweight cock suckers now,,

  • @eelpieballox as an engineer, i'd like to state the simple fact that engineers wouldnt get paid if they tried to do that. clients want compressed digital stuff, some of my close friends are mastering engineers and i hear the same from them too and we all hate it it seems.... but theres always gonna be pendulum swings, now music its at its worst, its simple, its undynamic, and within 10 years we should have real good music coming out again.

  • @ErikEntropy Sounds a little too good to be true. What kind of good music will be coming out again? How can you tell that it will come out?

  • @McSassin89 well like I said it always goes the opposite, not just with music, but stuff like fashion, art, subcultures etc... music used to be great like black sabbath and pretty much any band/genre from those times, and music had high sound quality, very dynamic, now its low quality, over compressed and simple music, but we have reached the worst point, and its starting to swing back into the other direction, people are wanting better quality music, more dynamics, better quality etc...

  • @ErikEntropy Yeah, it's like people are starting to realize how shitty most bands are today and are now writing good material that is more raw and energetic.

  • MY GOD...HE created THY!!!

  • amazing song from their best album

  • This song and Group kick ass, this is heavy Rock makes you feel good !
