LOL I love this episode. Barney is a hoot! Andy teasing Barney singing acapella, acapella LOL LOL Andy always knows how to get Barney's temper up! Andy and Barney, a great team. Nothing as good on TV these days. Thank goodness for DVDs of great show from the 1960s.
It's called 'Rafe Hollister Sings' - from the 3rd season. I just watched it on my DVD collection a few days ago. Great show! They don't make them this good anymore....
I stand corrected. Right you are. Rafe Logan was an escaped convict on another episode I believe? Any way thanks I just watched old Rafe singing. Do you know his real name?
The word, acapella, actually means, as in the chapel, or the church and is un-accompanied by any instrument. The very early Christian churches were without instruments in worship, hence the meaning " as in the church". There are churches today that continue in this tradition !
Barney sings a capella sort of to the tune of 'La Cucaracha,' and Andy even moreso, as he makes fun of him.
When will crazy ol' Barn get himself a clue?
Thanks for this. I play it when i'm not in a great mood, b/c it makes me laugh every time. Cheers.

WARNING: Do not watch this before your choir class! I died laughing every time our director said "a capella!" LOL :)

@NerdWatchJinxy HAHAHA oh, gosh, now that's funny. "What not to say when in choir practice" sounds like a pretty good joke topic.

@wheelman2003 Lol! It is! But, in the meantime, you will get stared at by those ignorant few who have never heard of Andy Griffith. Poor fools. :)

When Dennis would sing without the band playing, he'd say "everybody sing acapulco!!!!!!!"

This episode taught me the meaning of
A Capella. I couldn't understand why my mother was laughing so hard until she explained what A Capella was. Loved this show!

so what does a capella mean ?
ijsmale 3 years ago
I think it means to sing without any music, just the singer.
KennWV 3 years ago 2
Correct. But I like Barney's definition better!
