I dont think that its a secret. Why secrecy? The techniques are definitely a secret in both Aikis depending on the schools and teachers but not the relationships between the two.

morihei ueshiba had far more underlying and deeper reasons to develope aikido based on aikijujutsu.. do you think a japanese old man has less to think about then his houndreds of years of japanese combat art culture and maybe even fundamental philosophical grounds?

Morihei Ueshiba sensei knew a lot but he didn't want to teach as he should do !! may be cos of the USA made rules to japan after the war? may be the influence of shinto religion? Any way aikdo is just a very small part of aiki jujutsu !! myself i'm a fan of Minuro Mochizuki a great artist fighter!

it is aikido in the peaceful times of 270 years(Edo). but this sensei had a kamon which Takeda family crest. it means the strongest in sengoku. when katana with a nicked edge, used jujutsu to control a katana of the enemy. there are Le Clan Takeda in Belgium, France and Switzerland.

aikido is not small and is not small part of aikijujutsu , if you look carefully you will discover that morihei on purpose took only fundaments to teach in aikido so that anyone could progress from aikido into any level they want yes even into aikijujutsu. morihei probably tought its excessive to teach every technique in specific so he tought lets learn the principals and aspects first then we let people branch out as they want, also he tought there is no need for violence therefore no violence.

If you ask abour Soke Ryuho Okuyama, he is the great master of Hakko Ryu Ju Jutsu also with roots in Daito Ryu Aiki ju jutsu,also sister with Takeda Ryu.

That's a funny reply because nobody does Ueshibas Aikido. In fact he asked that question at the end of his life.

What he meant was that everybody's aikido should be different, since they are individuals. If you have spent your whole career trying to be exactly like your instructor you have shorted yourself.

everyone does his aikido but he had the possition to henka waza and do whatever he liked , if we did what he did wich we could then we would have been told its wrong, wich is true its wrong until you actually can proove that it works safely. So with aikido there can be alot of discussion on what is allowed, but mainly if something is safe for you and the enemy or uke then its fine but if its only safe for one person and not hte other its not fine.

but this is not to underestimate all his excellent martial art masterhip that he had however it would also be very very unlikely for a master to teach his students something that is departed from all his own strugling and work just to end up not transmitting his wisdom and effort , for what reason wouldt he?

so in any rational mind one knows that a master worsk and strives to teach the best to the next generation so he might live on, just like morihei does live on so does his aikido.
