I think he shouldn't. IMHO, the idea is that, according to the libretto, he is quite a "bad guy", more a seducer than lover. Just think how many times he sung this serenade for different donnas...)
Oh, well. But doesn't he love to seduce? And doesn't he love all the women, as he says? There is passion in Don Giovanni, in fact there is so mich passion in him, that eventually he gets punished for it.
Yes, he needs women, but doesn't he need them mostly for putting them into his list? Anyway, we cannot know for sure, so it is a matter of opinion. Both versions are possible.
Masetto: "Lo cerco con costor per trucidarlo!"
Don Giovanni: ("Bagatelle...!")
Me: ROTFLOL!! xDDD
Ramey is just perfect in his role! <3

Is that one of Horace's odes that he's singing, or have I got things mixed up?

Don't really like Ramey as Don Giovanni, somehow he doesnt't sound, I dunno, sensual, passionate enough.

He's a real softie, this Masetto - nobody does him better than Pisaroni, and that's a fact!
