When she said that the internet gives some trans kids their first real indication of what their true problem is, a light bulb of recognition went on for me. I was 12 years old in 2000 when I first learned about transsexuals via the internet and IMMEDIATELY knew why I had been "different" my whole life. So I'm glad to hear that in her experience, there were others who benefitted from this technology too.
question, this kid is on special drugs.. what happens if the kid gets into a car accident/etc., and then goes into ER, and is then given drugs by the ER doctor (who has no info. about the drugs this kid is on), that kill the kid. Seriously? Not a safe idea, unless you're always going to carry medical documentation....
i'm trans and i know that the ignorance of ppl is just a phase. i am a history grad so i know the world goes through phases. one day we will find out everything scientifically, and being lgbt will be just like having any other medical condition. it wont be a big deal. they will look back and be horrified about how ppl thought and acted in our era, just as we NOW are horrified when we look into the barbaric past.
Mabey in about 100 years in the future being a diffrent race wont matter,being gay or lesbian wont matter,or having a sex change wont matter but this world isnt all that yet :/ dude idc who you are because if your kool were gonna be friends,we were born that way :)
This is so true. I am a transgender woman. I believe that I could change. I even became a Baptist preacher. I ran from myself for 30 years, and I just couldn't handle it and became depressed. Finally, I had to realize that I am a woman and there is nothing I could do about it. This is when I decided that I needed to come out and free myself of this prison that I was trapped in.
@mg5679 you say u dont think medicaid should pay for sex change operations or therapy. well if ur on medicaid and your transgender there is no way we could pay for the therapy or the surgery and if your trans and stuck in the wrong body it can screw with ur mental health big time transitioning can help big time. for me my mental health aint perfect but its gotten better sense ive started transitioning. whats stupid is we can spend all kinds of money on war but we can't help trans people.
@britt05401 if you want the therapy, you pay for it. It is not the responsibility of the taxpayers to pay for these types of treatments if a person is on Medicaid.
@mg5679 who need the help. i think it smarter to help trans people then to go spend all kinds of money on an unneeded war. so am sorry that u feel medicaid should not pay for this. for it a person is on medicaid there is no way they could pay for what they need.

Being transgender is nothing to do with science. The reason is the same reason to why god gave us a brain. So we can know who we really are inside.

So, is there such a thing as "racial reassignment" surgery? I feel like a black man trapped in a white man's body.

@Jaspedood666
It's not mental. It's biological, a birth defect to put it simple. It's like giving someone mental therapy to fix a clubbed foot; it doesn't work.
ACluelessKid 7 months ago
@ACluelessKid no, it's both. EVERYTHING about people is a product of both the environment and genetics. Nothing is that simple.

@BrunhildaSwecker
I wouldn't say most cases of transsexuality are environment related, it's shown to be brain related - created in the womb.

@mg5679 so how do u expect someone on medicaid to pay for the thearpy pull money out of the air. if they had the money they would not be on medicaid

@britt05401 Medicaid is one of the programs that is costing this country a lot of money and it needs to be reformed.
mg5679 9 months ago
@mg5679 oh so reform medicaid but go head and keep spending lots and lots of money on a war that is not needed sounds great. not.

If I were to suggest changing their mind, instead of their body, it would be offensive, huh?
Jaspedood666 11 months ago
@Jaspedood666
There's not really a way to do that. You can't change your gender, and science has no brain surgery or drug to do so.
