You Could start with La Bella Folk Singers, just cut the ball ends off and tie normally. You could order La Bella reds, most brands make a Flamenco string but you normally have to order them because music stores don't carry them. If all else fails any quality classical string can be used.

don't worry about the nails, just get the tips of your fingers to where they can handle it. it takes a little more practice,but it actually sounds better and is easier because you can feel the notes better...
