  • Never heard Peggy sing "I Got It Bad" before this video. Beautiful rendition, typical Peggy.

  • She was a fabulous artist. I love her presentation. Amazing!!! Thank you for posting.

  • what a gem ....thanks for posting ...

  • I UNDERSTAND THAT PEGGY HAD MY FACE LIFTS!!! IS THAT WHY HER FACE LOOKED SO STIFF??

  • @dannys2222 MANY FACE LIFTS!!!

  • @dannys2222 Peggy Lee had Bell's Palsy and had to have work done on her face. She did not have a face lift.

  • wonderful post....I saw her the night before she had heart surgery; my friend wrote her and she responded.....sweet memory of her singing The Wind Beneath My Wings before it became famous.....thumbs up

  • Growing up in the late '50s and thru the '60s, I heard Peggy here and there on the radio. I had no idea she was this good for so long. She's somethin' else...

  • I love it :)

  • you'd expect a lot and you got a lot from Judy Garlands favorite singer.

  • stupid Academy, they didn't want to give her that Award for her all life achievement. Didn't she do enough or even too much that she could receive it?? Still, people do love her for her stunning performances.

  • wow love this!!!

  • Too made the audio is so quiet - can barely hear it

  • She was fabulous!

Thanks for sharing this with us,

  • Candy for the eyes and ears, thanks for posting.

  • Too fast for me, but I'll bet Peggy needed to change it up a little by this time,

  • no pude haberlo dicho mejor!

  • i saw a p. lee vid somewhere that had her doing "As time goes by" if anyone has this please post! thanx!

  • Yes, it was a wonderful video. It was removed from YouTube. I hope somebody uploads it again!

  • Peggy Lee could make it cool or sizzle.I always took great pleasure in hearing a song unfold under her spell.

  • very cool!

  • Wow - I love Peggy Lee!!!

And you were so fortunate to get to hear her live and talk to her - I envy you so so much!!!

  • A few years before this video, she got Bell's Palsy (facial paralysis). So, it wasn't just the "work," which she probably had done after the disease happened ...

  • Truly one of the GREATS, Peggy Lee was magnificent, talented, and beautiful!!

  • she was married to the amazing jazz guitarist dave barbour. search for their duets. magic!

  • Peggy had endured health problems most of her adult life. She refused to lie down to ill health and fought back every time. She suffered respitory and heart problems from time to time.

I photographed her in Glasgow during this period, she was a true superstar of her generation and a joy to watch in concert, she stayed backstage an hour after the show to sign autographs for fans. She was a delight to meet and left you feeling you had met greatness...which I had

  • @TheVoiceOfDalrymple to meet her must have been very special. thanks for sharing your story

  • a fever

  • how did she die?

  • heart attack i think. health problems

  • beautiful voice...

  • Effortless, flawless, a light which cannot be extinguished. RIP Peg!

  • Peg is a STAH that's what's on her head.

  • What a class, even in old age she was stunning performer (and I always love when people keep that something special,no matter how old) listen how she bounces in and around song always bouncing right back on rhytm, excellent, thank you very much!

  • DUDE WHAT IS SHE WEARING ON HER HEAD?

  • glitterzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Women can go bald as well as guys do. I have a full head of hair at 60 but many women I know that are my age have far less hair than I.

  • Peggy is a great Jazz singer!! she has alot of class!!a great clip!!also @ YouTubeSearch,Marc Jones Vocalist, sings pop/jazz standards,he sings great! check him out!

  • Beautiful video quality!

  • fantastic!

  • you compare merman to peggy lol

  • You are one sad, sick little man

  • doent mean enything if she is a lebian

  • don't you mean lesbian you dumbass peckerhead

  • ok she was not a lesbian, she was married and had kids, so that can't really make someone a lesbian...

  • JERK

  • Awesome rare clip of the legendary diva in concert in the eighties...I had the experience of this pleasure twice during this period in Westwood, Calif and it was pure magic...nobody like her! Bravo Peggy!!!

  • :hearts; it.

    ♀♪♫

    heck yes.

    did she die?

  • ...yeah...in 2002, at the age of 81.

  • xxorangeclutz she must have been older don't you think?she looked pretty old on this video and it was in 1983 and it looked like she had some work done already.Which is not an issue at all her voice was absolutelly MAGNIFICENT!!!

  • And this lady lost her voice whem she was very young. ;-)

  • Amazing, what a woman!

  • Fabulous! A class act till the end- and the band is great.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • I'm not amazed really.

Mae West was 85 when and she still sang; (ofcourse Mae didn't have the talent Peggy had; but listen at other examples ; Ella Fitzgerald, Ethel Merman, ... in their later careers.)

Peggy Lee was only 63 here. And her voice isn't thát astonishing...

  • perfect voice for ever.............

  • 1983, the VOICE is still there. Wow!!

    Fantastic!

  • There will never be another Peggy Lee.

  • not a good version; too fast, and she looks only half alive.......

  • its going pretty fast. but still great

  • There's no one like her. I'm so sorry she's gone. How great she was...and still is.

  • Peggy Lee was one a of my childhood heros. She was one of the best. I'm sorry shes gone to.

  • Boy does this band ever murder her and the song with too much speed

  • Peggy Lee has always been a favourite of mine. I found two CDs of hers at the local music shoppe. What a treat!

  • I remember watching her on tv when I was a little girl and being enchanted by her. still am.

  • Elvis? Yes, I have listened to his version. It's fine, but it is not in the same league as the original by Peggy, who wrote half of the lyrics (the stuff about Pocahontas & Juliet) and who also came up with the sensual and jazzy arrangement. (This video does not contain the original, but a version from Peggy's later years.)

  • Listen to Elvis singing this song!!!!

  • Thank you for posting this. Nobody did this song like Peggy Lee! She never lost her touch.

  • Wow, I didn't know she was still alive in 1983!

  • Peggy Lee was still alive(just) in 2002!! I also agree that Elvis did a fanatstic version is his more voluminous days. Great Post - Thanks.

  • I just love the talent and classiness of the singers of that era, and she is a good example. Thanks for posting

  • You have just hooked me on my new favourite artist lol. I never had the chance to grow up listening to Frank Sinatra & Peggy Lee. Two artists that are now my favourite lol. Btw what was it like live? Or did you go? Ren~

  • you cant be from the USA we don't spell favorite with a u.

  • Also, Ella constantly mentioned Peggy among her 4 or 5 all-time favorite female singers, and Peggy always mentioned Ella among her own favorites, too. So ... the two of them obviously knew who was really good!..

  • Ella Fitzgerald is someone you ought to check out.

  • awesome

  • Wonderful. Please keep posting anything else you may have. Peggy Lee is one of my very favorite singers and I'll always regret that I never got the chance to see her in person.

  • Thank you for posting this... I've never hear her sing I've Got it Bad... Brillant!

  • Yes! She also did this song in US TV various times, and those versions are even better.

  • GREAT performance, thank you!!
