  • What is it called..? a "pejzo??"

  • @sodzee arpeggio

  • understood this 100%

  • Very cool video. I am glad you decided to share it with us! Thanks!

  • Good video. My daughter knows this music (a friend of her has explained her how to play it) so I'm happy to be able to explain her how to go further. Thanks a lot.

  • @PianoPlayer35 you're welcome, you may also visit us on our website, pianomother . com (no space)

  • Thank you for giving me the chords. I have been looking forever for them. I wanted to compose a duet for guitar with this song. The chords C major, A minor, F major and G major work perfect for the arrangement in the key of C, and it helped lol.

    THANK YOU!

  • That was so cool. :D I MUST LE LEARN.

  • I have only been taking lessons for a month, but in a couple of years l hope l can sound this good! :)

  • @GraceGAutumn, you could sound better than that in a year or less. The trick is to practice everyday.

    -Amy of PianoMother

  • @KillaCalify, when pressing down a chord you use your fingers. But when you need to create a loud sound, the power must come from your shoulders down to your forearms and wrist to your fingers.

    -Amy of PianoMother

  • what notescan you hit if you want to learn to get your right hand from left to right real fast and hitting a lot of notes, what is the hand technique?

    ( sorry for my enlish)

    greetz

  • @simonemans123, you call that arpeggio or run. you need to know the color chords so you can play or hit the correct notes. You play the same notes but on different octaves, like climbing up and going down the stairs.

  • hi, how much is your play piano from fakebook course? does it contain the guidelines on how to improvise the chord or left hand from the fakebook? do u have the hard copy too aside from the dvd? and most of all, how fast will i receive your shipping upon payment? im from philippines..

  • @julietvillar, we have two fake book courses. The first series is for late beginner level and the second series is for intermediate or early advance level. You can visit these links to check each fake book course: pianofakebook . com and fakebookplaying . com. You can also purchase both at a special/discounted price. Both courses teach you different piano techniques or chord improvisation. Both courses include DVDs and a fake book manual.

  • @julietvillar, For an order with a shipping address outside the United States, we use 1st Class Mail International. It usually takes 10 to 15 business days to deliver the international packages. If you have a special requirement on the shipping, please contact us by email (pianomother . zendesk . com/home) before you place the order.

  • @julietvillar, each fake book course/package costs $99. If you want to purchase both, you can get them at $175.

  • Sorry no offense, you're a great piano player but I just don't see a lot of creativity in the song.

  • to change it up you can go C, Am, Dm, G...it plays out the same with the melody

  • Amazing!

  • 20 years of my life I've been improvising my own way, often sound sloppy and the sounds merge together in a fashion that its hard to distinguish things.

After watching your video, it is organized and meshes well. Thank you very much for the lesson!

  • sound so good, how can i get a cd . I have a party, can i use your music?

    so hip!

  • can i use gce ?

  • This video has already helped me out a ton! Thank you oh so much. Do you have any videos that you would recommend that I watch being that I am still quite the beginner? I have been teaching myself chords, but I really want to learn some techniques like the one you showed at 1:42.

  • @MusicManiac250 Glad you like the video. There are quite a few things I did with the tutorial - runs (inversions runs) etc. You can learn more about different way to dress up songs with our play piano with fake book course at pianomother . com or our piano improvisation course.

  • That is pretty cool. Thanks for sharing these cords.

  • By A you mean A-minor but good lesson.

C-Am-F-G, a pretty basic progression very common in guitar playing

  • heheh nice screw up at 2:30, keep trying though, you'll get good.

  • @stuckupcurlyguy Ye, because one simple screwup makes her bad and gives you the right to act as though you are better than her...

  • @dBe2222222 I know sarcasm is difficult to detect online. Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it.

But seriously I've played the piano for ten years. Shhh.

  • @stuckupcurlyguy I have absolutely no problem detecting sarcasm, but your sentence simply shows no evidence of sarcasm in it. If you had said you were joking or created that message at the end of the sentence then sure, but you end it with, "keep trying though, you'll get good" which comes through as arrogant. Remember that conveying sarcasm over the internet won't work unless it comes through verbally.

  • @dBe2222222

Oh! Thank you for the quick lesson! I hate it when I'm misconstrued, you know. I wouldn't want to seem arrogant, god forbid. Could you quickly link me to a list of ways I could provide "evidence" of sarcasm in future comments? I'm sure there's one online. It's just that I never learned them properly, spending so much time practicing the piano as I do, and you seem to be very sure of what they are. Thank you for helping me distinguish between verbal and virtual communication too!

  • I think this is the best among all the useless videos. Not trying to be rude though.

  • @carabushy It sure isn't useless. You are just being an asshole.

  • It can take years to get the speed. Just do it many reps at a speed you are comfortable and inch the metronome one notch up.

  • Ms.Swan?

  • I like how you say "chord" :)

  • thanks very much for the techniques..it helped me a lot :D

just that you were a little bit fast for the beginerrs :)

  • HI Yoke Wong, I just wanted to tell you THANK YOU so much for these video's. you are so awesome. I'm 21 & have been a singer for over 10 years & I could always do some basic piano, not much more then a song in the key of C. But your video's gave me hope to get a better grasp of the piano to play for myself where it would sound "professional" Thank you. from Joy Norwood

p.s One day when I am rich, hopefully soon. I will send you as much money as I can to support what you are doing!

  • wow u r rly good at this

i've recently been teaching myself how 2 play n realized i've been doing it wrong, i cant play with all 5 fingers or have all 10 fingers stationed on d piano :(

  • i love you

  • Incredible

  • @BreakxxSlowly she is good easy to understand like, thank you pianomother.I'm still learning

  • great ............. could u please play the video bit slow b/c i couldn't understand the few improvisation techniqes.. thanks

  • this is really good!

  • I bet she's asian

  • what is the song at 0:33?

  • damnit, she's wearing a wedding ring.

  • can you do a piano improv lesson on new age style? I've been dying to learn

  • Great job, sounds awesome!!!! If you want to see a sick up and coming piano based singer songwriter check out Adam Gilbert video Break Through Today!!! So So Funny and Good!!!

  • Thanks for the video! (:

But, i have a minor question.

I'm unable to move my hand as quickly as your are for the 'C chord' (C, E, G, C)

which is for the thumb going to the right to press the C note.

Is there any way to make my hand more nimble, or perhaps a technique?

  • @learningthepianofast The secret is "practice"! There is really no magic to fast movement, practice, practice, practice. You can start with slower movement, and gradually increase the movement when you are comfortable.

  • @pianomother Okay. Thanks for the fast reply!

Would you recommend me an appropriate way

to practice your fast movements? Cause, I've been

trying it on a C chord for quite awhile now. And i'm

still at the same level of speed, without any change /:

  • @learningthepianofast Try to set the metronome at 108 or 112 at first, slowly move up 12 to 120, then 132. Adjust your hand movement accordingly. If it becomes too difficult to keep up with the speed - practice at the speed until you are comfortable. You may want to consider our hand coordination runs and fillers course, please check out our website.

  • @pianomother Okay, thanks for the advice.

  • @pianomother its not just practice, its being able to recognize patterns, harmonic patterns that is, and having the creativity and confidence to experiment and play with those patterns. that's what makes a great musician.

  • wow!! Great one. Really the lessons are great. Thank you very much.

  • cool

  • yup heart and soul my favorite

  • great videos,pianomother

classical traditional teaching wins everytime ,for me

How about effective piano technique? My technique sucks, feels like all effort and small results....I use only my fingers but I am starting to realize that pro players don't use only their fingers. Thanks for the videos,I'll check out your site

  • hey, i like your music. I will be your loyal fan.

  • that's pretty much the same thing...the ii and the IV chord share two notes in common. and if you were doing ii you would most likely do ii6.

    Vilmi - InLoveEdwardCullen♥

  • Wow, thats pretty cool!!!!

  • that was a minor

  • good but the a is an a minor

  • im not so good at inversions

  • thanks for the really useful video

    n_n

i really like your accent too ^ ^

  • I know what you mean 'cuz I play this song! What's the name of this song, please could anyone tell me?

And you're a natural teacher, you rock!

  • amazing!! can you please leave a comment with the notes of the "inversion" i don't really know what that is, but i do know the arp. (1 3 5 8 >)

  • If I may be so forward to comment on behalf of the person who posted this video.

An inversion is nothing more than the same notes in a different order. A triad (chord constructed out of three notes) will have three inversions. Better said; the 'original' chord + two inversion.

    Example Cmajor = C E G

    First inversion = E G C

    Second inversion = G C E

All you are doing is rearranging the notes slightly. (When going up to the second inversion all you do is change the root note to the top note)

  • thank you so much for posting this! it makes me want to take up the piano again. :)

also, i apologize for the racist comments on this video, and i thank you for not letting them upset you enough to take this down, or to disable comments. it makes it possible for people who like this video to thank you for it! :)

  • very nice lesson

  • Thank you.

    proven in this video

  • Mother,

Please explain more about inversions. Find it hard to play since your sample is too fast.

    Please help me. Thanks

  • Think you for this video

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • I am self taught, but I have a difficult time playing a different rhythm with my left hand and right hand, I think its a mind block but what is an easier way to train myself to adjust to this?

  • also sounds good if u use the pentatonic scale (12356/CDEGA)in the right hand with same chords in left hand :P

  • Thanks 4 a good lesson

  • thanks for this nice lesson

  • wonderful - thank you !!!

how to use youtube - edification

  • It's not wrong being the fact she never said anything about A-major just simply A, could mean Minor, major, diminished or even Augmented.

  • You are correct. But I think its well known that if you only say the letter, you mean major. I don't want to comment badly on the video, on the contrary, but I couldn't leave this unaswered :)

  • honey...i think thats not right ....... you play not A-Major, you play a A-Minor

  • Nice! Love It!
