A very good film which won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 2007.

All actors are (local) non-professional Mongolians with the exception of Nan Yu who is Chinese and plays Tuya and also does a terrific job.

i've been to Inner Mongolia, most of Mongolians are afraid to admit that they speak fluent Mongolian.. especially in presence of a han Chinese from center. it seems it is some sort of fear accumulated for years

it is just a chinese film made by chinese,plz respect the mgls under occupations,even there r some of them changed,but still many of them r just nomads in the countryside,they did nothing but just nobody could help

Yes. They are called inner mongolians. Chinese is their official language.

there is no inner Mongolians,only a part of Mongolian called southern Mongolia has occupied by chinese since 1947,

anywhere there r mixed people,even in outer Mongolia,but only the diffrence is in inner Mongolia once someone is mixed Mgl and chinese,thus he or she doed not speak Mongolian,and they do not think ownsevles r Mgls,but in outer Mongolia even the real chinese can spaek chinese,N others always think they r Mgls 2.
