  • What about using the bike and lyptical machine at what paste.

  • @P4TTL2 HAAAAAA! Lmao me too bro! I watch 'em til I doze off lolol!

  • High intensity cardio also burns through testosterone. This hormone is the main muscle builder. With out it, it's harder to build muscle

  • why do i always flick through these vids when im about to go bed it keeps me up for about another hour lol

  • Oh my god!!! How is there not just one but two of these light eyed beauties :o??!!!...subscribed!! :)

  • you burnt off intermuscular fat. ya know how steaks are marbled. judging buy your build you guys are not lean muscle your too big for it. I promise you just burnt that fat off because your body always prefers that first then muscle. good way to drop fat is do cardio first thing in the morning before breakfast, it forces your body to burn fat and not whats in your stomach. Degree in animal nutrition

  • Wait this totally contradicts what scooby says...

  • Are they Mexican? they don't seem to be African-american...

  • @TheOne42 You fucking dick head

  • wat about biking ?? i usually bike home from the gym n thats like an hour n 1/2 ride

  • @killarmy101 to long especially after a workout

  • Heavy bag cardio guys.

Thoughts on this? Can I do this for 20 min a day?

  • Hey man, I like watching your videos but who made up this shit about cardio burning muscle!!! Cardio is exercise and all exercise is good, your body is not stupid enough that it would burn off muscle because it knows muscle is good. If you are a little starving kid in africa and you have no food in your stomach for energy and no fat left either thats when your body say "oh shit gonna have to use some of this muscle", but if you have no food or fat left your probably already dead!!!

  • First time I dont agree with you guys!

Im doing wahtever the fuck I wanna do

  • what about skipping? would that be considered high intense cardio workout?

  • lol you dont burn muscle doing intense cardio...., you burn muscle if you do extreme amounts of cardio and i mean extreme,

  • Evetyones talkin bout sprinters... Do yall think that sprinters do high intensity cardio besides explosive training? TMW was right: u should be able to hold a conve

  • Holy shit! I just jump roped WITHOUT A ROPE for 20sec on 10 sec off, total 33 mins on. I think I found the most readily available cardio know to man.

  • @xXAnthony619Xx man i did that shit yesterday and today im all fucked up.

  • @hot1fromnc Hell yea. I feel it in my calves, abs, and obliques big fucking time XD. I'm doing this way more often. Like it's a cardio staple for me now.

  • he lost muscles in his legs because he overtrained those legs and not burned muscles by cardio. If that was the case he would loose muscle in arms as well.

  • I think ''burning your muscle'' is kind of misleading, your body will adapt to whatever it is you're doing, and when you get increased or decreased mass in your muscles, it's because your body is adapting to whatever you're doing, and HIIT just promotes the development of enduring muscles, rather than big bulky muscles with alot of explosive force. Just look at a 100m runner and a marathon runner, they're both adapted to the kind of exercise they do.

  • If this was true, sprinters would have no muscle.

  • A breast walk

  • Anyone plz answer asap what about jump rope but only 5min and not in succession like brisk then slow down then brisk then slow

  • Which one of you gets more girls? I've always wondered this about you guys

  • What you guys are saying about HIIT not burning muscles is true, sort of. As the twins said, you shouldnt do HIIT AFTER your weightlifing, because you have exhausted your muscles and your insulin is low, and any more intensive workout just tears your muscles (in case you didnt know, you destroy your muscle durning weightlifting, and regenerate during sleep). HIIT is very effective for fat burning, because of afterburn effect. If you do HIIT, rest from weightlifting that day.

  • @JonesDr.

Yeah. I agree with you! It gives me proper

understanding when & how my body is

working out. I was eating & working in a

proper manner that really helped my

muscles to make progress. It got the fastest

possible track of muscular growth & muscle

toning. Now, here's the site im talking about:

    MusclesMaximizer.info

  • I recommend using BCAAs during high intensity cardio. I do lots of biking in the summer. Last year I performed about 2000 kilometers biking up and down the mountains. On good days I get an AVERAGE heart beat of 165 bpm! It is not rare that my heart frequency goes up to 185 for like 5 minutes. I'm 27 by the way.

So during a 3 hour bike tour I take something like 20 to 30 amino tablets from which at least the half are BCAAs. In summer 2011 my legs have grown bigger without doing leg workouts!

  • im pretty sure your body wont start metabolizing muscle for energy unless your like completely shredded, your body uses fat stores as the primary source of energy and the body wont begin eating itself unless there is no fat to burn.

  • Beautiful eyes, great insight guys!

  • what are you guys think about swimming and how does it help burn fat and preserve muscle?

  • lol i love you guys maan :D

  • with all due respect to the twins because i like their tips but this is bullocks!..

Sprints and short HIT will make you burn fat and increase muscles leanest

look at sprinters! do 5x 100m at 80% i ll guarantee you will get ripped and will not loose muscle definition

  • you should do low intensity cardio.. and you should be able to talk to someone..

the only way u gonna burn muscle is overtraining your legs.. that's not the case

  • sorry guys. on this one I gotta do whatever the fuck I wanna do. Duration is key. If you do HIIT for an hour you will probably eat more muscle than necessary. If you walk for 3 hours you will probably burn unnecessary muscle. 15 minutes of HIIT or walking is not going to be a problem.

  • Fucking love these guys!

  • first things...Muscle loss more often occurs if You’re not eating enough protein.

    You’re not eating enough carbs.

You are not eating enough calories If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it!

  • i wanna do whatever the fuck i wanna do

  • run till ya freakin heart explodes........LOL

  • losing muscle mass is more to do with diet than exercise

  • BUT YOU BURNING ALL THE FUCKIN MUSCLE!!

  • You guys got me scared now!

  • Bull Shit. Your body wont even touch your muscles as a back up energy source even if you have a tiny amount of fat left. And no matter how lean you are, there's always a thin layer of fat under our skin.

Muscles are the last to go, and that's like in a extreme starvation scenario when your body is done consuming all the fat and starts to live off of your muscle, visceral fat and organs, basically eating itself. But that's extreme not gonna happen unless we hit a famine or something.

  • @waseem1173 have you ever noticed when a bodybuilder leans up for a show they look a little smaller?....you do loose some muscle ya dumbass

  • @pudgeyman2102 yeah but you do realize they drop their body fat percentage very low. so low that it can only be held at that for half a day. un naturally low, just imagine what they do to get in that state. i am guessing crazy crazy intense cardio on a very restrictive diet. of course you lose muscle then "dumbass", but not if you sprint for 5k or something.

  • @waseem1173 yea they do do insane cardio and dieting but there cardio doesnt consist of sprinting a 5k or doing strenuous cardio

  • @pudgeyman2102 not the point. the point was that running, jogging doesn't burn muscle. unless you are starving and have no fat left under your skin. ripped to the bone state like. I myself currently brisk walk because that's all my legs can handle for now. but i am making progress in my pace looking forward to when i can run 9-10k instead of brisk walking.

  • @pudgeyman2102 they just look smaller because there less fat covering their muscles

  • @emachines390 but i thought they loose some muslce size also?

  • @pudgeyman2102 I read on a couple websites that your body doesn't start eating away at your muscle until you have absolutely no fat. and thats basically when you completely dehydrated and have been starving for a couple of days. but on some other websites i read that its all about genetics and whatever your body chooses to eat away

  • @emachines390 yea it bet thats all it is some people are different than others

  • @pudgeyman2102 thats true, you have to find out how your own body works and reacts so you can find out how effectively you can train. i was luckily one of the people who dont lose too much muscle mass unless i do a bunch of cardio and im pretty sure your gonna end up the same.

  • @emachines390 o yea i hope so im always afraid to do cardio

  • @pudgeyman2102 your shouldn't be! even if you do lose some muscle, it should be pretty easy to build it back since its not too much. you should focus on one thing at a time first. like right now im trying to lean up and once i get to my desired body fat percentage, im going to start lifting and do more strength exercises. its much more effective than trying to do both at once

  • @emachines390 yea i never tried doing both i just lift alot and eat an excess and im happy with my size im just afraid if i do cardio to trim up im gonna loose size

  • @pudgeyman2102 trust me, once you trim up that excess fat around your muscles, even if you lose some mass, it will look better and more defined.

  • @pudgeyman2102 then again, its always your own body and choice. so, choose whatever feel right to YOU.

  • @waseem1173

    That is not true.

  • @mephud don't believe me, do your research. Thank me later.

  • @waseem1173 do you even lift? fuck up phaggot

  • @urmumaman aware

  • @urmumaman Yes i do, i'd cuss you back if i were ignorant like you. good day.

  • @waseem1173 Yh I was going to say the same. High intensity interval training, like sprints, actually helps produce HGH and Test; which many people may be sceptical of, until they remember what Olympic sprinters look like.

  • @waseem1173 really

  • @waseem1173 muscle go away real easy...

  • @silvermaniamania yeah if you're not taking in enough protein or calories in general. or if overtraining

  • @waseem1173 not if you were at a larger size then you will naturally go back down

  • @waseem1173 You must be a bitch that has no idea what you're doing, if you even workout at all.

  • @CTUSUKSISFAT you must be a bitch who should be playing mw3 what are you even doing here kid rest your fat ass back on the couch.(sorry had to pre assume because you asked for it)

  • @waseem1173 why don't you check the channel? then try and talk shit

  • @CTUSUKSISFAT i just did. and i apologize.

  • @waseem1173 sorry man im gonna have to correct u, What your is saying is wrong, if u run alot, especially long runs etc. your body will burn muscle that it does not need, mostly legs, but it mainly effects your upper body as when you run alot you do not need your arms, chest etc. so much therefore it will burn the "excess" of what you dont need to run , i know this for a fact, as i run like 60-80km a week, and im skiny for a reason, hope that helps

  • @Ranieri69er yes, but that's a very intense amount of cardio. a 5k sprint every other day wouldn't hurt tho i suppose ?

  • @waseem1173 no if its like, 5k interval sprints no but if it was at a slow pace then no

  • @waseem1173 YOU'RE FUCKING STUPID shut up, now you body sees your muscle mass as a more viable source of energy and attacks that first NOT your quickly burning body fat, so next time you try to talk shit stop fondling your asshole for once and learn something about muscle, fuckin genuine jimmy struthers right here

  • @SlashsSon101 omg you're hopeless. google's your friend mate. do your research.

  • @SlashsSon101 Simply do a google. and you'll see who's right. or ask someone sensible and experienced in this matter(and that's not you based on what you just said).

  • @waseem1173 you wont need back up energy if you are full.

  • @OneVerce Correct. That's why i never leave for my cardio on a empty stomach. Near collapsed the one time i tried the cardio before breakfast thing, horrible experience never again.

  • @waseem1173 me the same

  • @waseem1173 your a fuckin idiot...

  • @fbgzontop cool story bro

  • you want another good tip guys? you should be taking between 10 to 15 grams of glutamine per day if you want to keep your FUCKING muscles.

  • @nicolaslordi You must have anemia

  • so im guessing kickboxing is out of the question even though i am eating ALOT of calories per day??

  • your body only uses muscle as an energy source when you dont have any fat, carb or protein left in your body. Like 7xXSE7ENXx7 commented; the ethiopian runners are skinny = no body fat therefore they burn fat.

  • @joachimk93 therefore they burn muscle u mean?

  • Jimmy Struthers recommended steroids for intense cardio.

  • I got to disagree. I have been going for 2 years now and have definately gotten ripped. I also run 30 min 2-3 times a week.

  • @notabadguy06 u probly pinner as fuck tho.

  • are you two related?

  • @puzzake LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @puzzake hahahahaha nice!

  • jimmy strutters said to run for 1 hour before doing weights

  • i learn a lot from your guys but when you do you steady jogging you can do it for an hour but still wont lose muslce man. but then again i'm an endomorph

  • lol!!! Always thought and heard High Intensity for a short period of time was the best cardio. Look at the sprinters they are one of the most muscular atheletes and the kind of cardio they do makes that possible. A skiny guy would burn muscle if he does cardio after his workout.

  • take bcaa before intense cardio to not burn muscle!!...thats what i do and i have the hamstrings and upper body of mike tyson in his prime

  • @7xXSE7ENXx7 I am an Ethiopian runner. What should I do? I run the five kilometers en fourteeen minutes thirty one seconds. Do you have advice for me 7xXSE7ENXx7 ?

  • @crimsonmonieful Eat lots of rice dropped by the UN and find a goat in your village and drink it's milk. If you can fight off the rest of your village for the odd chicken i would recommend this also. Cut back on running.

  • @7xXSE7ENXx7 I not cut back on running friend. We do have goats and chickens here but they are easy to find. I no have problem with finding food. I do not want to burn muscle. That is what I am asking of you friend.

  • @7xXSE7ENXx7

    Nope

  • Cardio doesn't burn muscle nuff said.

  • @Hotives Seconded.

  • Im currently doing insanity as well as lifting 6 days a week. But ive only been lifting hard for about 3 months now. Im also 17, but since im young and havnt been lifting for a while i should be able to lose the little bit of fat i have. i think im around 13% bodyfat, but also continue gaining muscle?

  • so even on off days my cardio should be a brisk fast paced walk and not a run?

  • see this video confuses me now, does this mean at any time if you go running you risk burning muscle? or will it only burn muscle when you'd done a heavy workout, like lifting.

  • What if you are a begginer and average weight. Im 16 not skinny not fat. So do i have to do any cardio.

  • It's not cardio that burns fat, its the extra calories you lose while doing cardio, you would get exactly the same results as doing half and hour cardio(350 calories) by consuming 350 calories less, it's just an exercise to work the heart and cardiovascular system hence the name cardio.

  • Is it bad if i do a 1 mile jog/ run on a treadmill at 6.5-7 m/hr is this good or bad.

  • @InsertGun

he just said a brisk walk, what part of that dont u fucking understand?

  • Most natural trainers say that you can't seriously gain muscle while on a fat burning phase. You can do one or the either. They prescribe getting rid of your fat first, then start a muscle building phase. What does anyone else think about that?

  • @coatlicue2012 Those trainers are right. You can gain muscle while cutting fat, it'll just be a fraction of the muscle you would gain while not cutting.

  • @coatlicue2012 They had a vid saying if your a begginer it is easier

  • Identical retarded twins, High Intensity actives short fibres (the muscle tissue that makes you look big) which induce muscle hypertrophy, Low intensity cardio activates long lever fibres which contract over hours (endurance). Look at a sprinter now look at a marathon runner. You decide, but a note where this probably went wrong for them is that they were not eating enough! You need to eat 1.5x carbs and equal proteins ( in relation to you body's mass in lb) to perform this type of task. Science

  • @DidYouSeeTheSunrise

Well these guys aren't really into the whole "science" thing. Working out has a lot to do with science but for most people that watch their videos it's all about learning with simple advice. Not saying their subs are retarded (I'm not, lol). It's just that their tips are easy to follow and technically always true to a certain extent. What they said made sense, and will keep people that DONT know about the whole eating more thing, from losing muscle. If that makes sense.

  • bout mma fighters they do shit loads of cardio but have great physiques, toned but with decent muscle.

  • i joinin the miltry and i need to be able to run alot more n have endurance and i wanna build maintain muscle whats the best way to do this

  • @dann1418 well both of these guys were marines so....

  • that's bull, because I do high intensity on both the bike and treadmill and my legs are firmer than they ever have been lol.

  • @rockettransam911 That's probably because you have good genetics and can develop and retain mucle easily. But keep in mind, though: not everyone is like that.

  • @ArmaEsmeralda very true... and I decided to try high resistance, low intensity on the treadmill and in one mile I had burned 50-60 more calories. than normally, even with running, so I see what these guys mean.

  • there's research to support that HIIT is best to burn fat & retain muscle.. Like what tuco1213 said, im totally with you man, thank god i can do what THE FUCK I WANNA DO!!

  • What if u only do bicycle for 15min or jog for 15 is that good?

  • Hold a conversation with someone? Guys, no bullshit, but on a treadmill, I run at speed 14 and I can talk as if I'm walking (maybe it's because I've been running for 12 miles every morning on an empty stomach lol)..

  • @QBNZ I ended up somewhere close to that but I got skinny as hell cuz I ended up running too much (which ended up burning a large portion of my muscle)

anyways screw bodybuilding power training is where it's at

  • what do you think about spinning? is it good to burn fat or is it too intense???

  • I have been doing empty stomach, high intesity interval training for a week and it hasnt effected my muscles at all.

  • @OshawaStateOfMind

a week lol, you wouldnt even notice muscle gain if u just stuck to freeweights and protein shakes for a week... u WILL notice 6-8 weeks down the line.

  • @Fraternity187 im talking about muscle loss

  • @OshawaStateOfMind

yeah and it's the same principle, you wouldnt notice muscle loss after 1 week because any muscle lost in one week would be so unsubstantial you wouldnt SEE it... esp if you see ur self every day so you dont even see a point a to point z... you're seeing a b c d e f .... z if tht makes sence... keep doing what ur doing and eventually (6-8 weeks) you will look at urself n say WTF I'm skinny as fuck.

  • i just play sports man

  • shit well i wrestle which is nothing but intense cardio...

  • Taking cardio advice from bodybuilders is like taking painting lessons from Stevie Wonder.

  • @Sheps92 hahahha nice one brother

  • @Sheps92 Theres a lot of different types of cardio to achieve different objectives nob edddddddd

  • @Sheps92 How do you figure? Bodybuilders (at show time) are the leanest motherfuckers on the planet. Literally, 2-3%.

  • @Louie212121 What does leanness have to do with cardiovascular capacity?

  • @Sheps92 Nothing. Obviously no one would go to a bodybuilder/painter/chef/accountant for advice on increasing cardiovascualr capacity. No where in the video are they giving advice for cardio capacity. The video is about losing fat.

  • Why is it important to do your cardio right after you lift weights?

  • @Narrowescape Body is glucose depleted etc. Same reason why it's good to do cardio before breakfast on an empty stomache in the morning

  • I do 15 minutes 1st thing in the morning before eating and 15 minutes in the afternoon after lifting weights at 60-75% of max heart rate.

  • Um , always learned HIIT was better than steady cardio

  • hey im 15 i weight 180 im 30-40pounds over weight, should i stll do a 15min walk after a intense workout?

  • if you dont want to be big and ripped you just want to have a decent six pack, chest and arms can you still do 10-15 minutes of jogging?

  • @49fortyniners Thats a really really stupid response. Everyone leave me alone.

  • Danmmmm u guys are fucking sexy

  • both guys are HOT! the lips and the eyes wow. handsome :)

  • @49fortyniners hehe, whats this comment too? :)

  • @49fortyniners No it doesn't. Drastic diets along with cardio in attempts to burn fat too quickly, improper nutrition, extreme amounts of cardio(approx more than 4 hrs of running a day) and not getting enough sleep burns muscle.

  • @49fortyniners What about people that train too hard?

  • Comment removed

  • I lift weights twice a week and do high intensity cardio 3 times a week. I have hardly burnt any muscle. just eat tons of protein and youre fine. well unless you are an ectomorph pussy bitch nigga

  • @Sleightofhandsz Most people wish they were ectos with the obesity rates that are in the US.

But being a meso is fine to.

  • I have been building for 3 years

i have watched all the best on giving advice such as the preists, coleman swarchnewgger, and the cutlers

but for me the hodgetwins reveal the true mechanism of a human body

  • for bodybuilders not true for athletes though. people might wanna look at what they are trying to build functional or just lots of beefed up muscle

  • I'd rather sprint for 15 min rather than walk for an hour

  • @TraumaER 90% of ppl at the gym walk, it's like come ppl on hit some intervals and make some gains

  • man people just to pussy to do cardio LOL

  • @twinmuscleworkout Is it ok to use a heart rate monitor such as "Polar watches" to check the target zone you are working while doing cardio. I've read that staying in a 60 %-70% of your heart capacity will burn mostly fat. After weight training some times i get on the treadmill and stay at 65 % for like 15 - 20 mins. What do you think?

  • damn bull shit. If your eating enough calories and protein with amino acids while your doing cardio you wont burn muscle. This whole video is based on their opinions not the scientific facts...I play soccer and have super intense workouts for over an hour 5 times a week and lift weights and eat right. I have already gained 5 pounds of muscle in the last 3 months and my body fat hasnt risen at all. Just eat enough and dont do crazy cardio like running 4 hours a day or cycling 300 miles
