I was wondering if you could help me to find the moleskin you and Suzi have referred to. I was so excited to buy my moleskin journal last night...um...i didn't buy the right one and it was $20 bucks- dang it! It has real thin pages and i know it's not the right one. Are you using the watercolor moleskin? Which one do you use- what's the name of it- there are so many options.
Hey there, sorry to hear about your "Moleskin Misshap" :( I use the 5x8 Sketch Notebook (The one with the blue band around it). Oh, and I got it at Barns & Nobel book store :)
All the time, lol. Ive found that the best solution is to use it very sparingly, or only on every other page. If the previous page had beeswax, I just brush it on without using the excess heat from a quilting iron. The paper you use makes a difference too though. I think the cardstock in a moleskine handles heat in layers better :) Hope this helps.
It's a "Mini Glue Pot". I got mine in the floral section at my local craft store (Michael's). I'll post a link in the info box on the right to where you can buy one online :)
I can't wait to see what you come up with :) Melting crayons makes me feels like im 5 years old again. so it really helps me when playing with new colors.
Wow! I saw your video at Suziblu's typepad site. I really love the look of your work. I like that texture you came up with. Is some of your paint iridescent or pearlescent? It's really wonderful!
Aww, Thank you :) I really appreciate it. The texture is from the crayons I melted with my quilting iron. The paint i used over the beeswax was indeed pearlescent. It's an acrylic paint called Lumiere.
Beautiful! I missed this weeks word because I was on the road but I will pick it up next week for sure. Keep making video responses for words and Ill keep doing it too. Thank you for making this and talking about it. Very beautiful page.
Oh My Gosh! Thank you sooooo much Suzi for the comment :D I get soo many amazing ideas from watching your vids, to get feedback from the teacher herself is beyond fulfilling :) I'll keep making responses for sure.
I love your journal! And beeswax..LOL I use it to make my lotions :)

Do you have trouble using wax in your journals with it melting when you do the next page?
