  • good job!

  • i know this was four years ago.. but maybe the reason he was stoping and starting in the canter was because you weren't following with your arms. Whenever he took a canter stride you were pulling on his mouth so he stopped. Just saying :)

  • anybody else see the horse buck at 0:33?

  • is this in california ????? because if it is i might join

  • Make sure your toes are not pointing outwards . :)

  • Good job! I remember the first time I jumped! I don't take lessons, so It was all on my own. And my arab horse! He's 22, o teaching him to jump was pretty ahmazing.

  • was cantering in an english saddle scary? and was jumping for your first time scary??

Im gonna do english but i only know western

  • @Berry2nd No, cantering english isn't scary at all. As long as you can trot nicely and that you can keep your horse under control, everything goes smooth

  • @Berry2nd its not scary, dw, you just hav to sit there lol and turn. i ride english all the time and its fine, giv it a go x

  • atleast your horse stops! after a jump with my horse she throws her head down and keeps going. shes crazy! but ur horse is very pretty!

  • You need to sit up straight, from the age of 5 Ive always been told to imagine that theres an invisible line running down from your ear to your heel. When cantering you need to drop all the weight into your heels and not lean forward and bounce up and down in the saddle, sit deep...it shows you are not that relaxed and comfortable yet as your tense and this makes you bounce all over the place.Horses jump better and feel more comfortable about jumping if you are going at an adequate speed!

  • As they always say, the bouncier the horse the better!

  • u really should stop blaming the horse for ur actions. i hate people who blame their horses. im a pro believe me

  • Did anyone see the white horse buck in the middle?

  • You did a good job on your first time jumping ;) You just have to wake your horse a little bit more, if he would go any slower he would go backwards lol. You might want to make him react to your legs some more, and he has to stay active. Now, when you get over the jump he just falls back, try 'kicking' him forward, he has to stay in the trot unless you tell him to go back.

Anyway, good job (: And you have a beautiful horse there btw :D

  • great job for ur first jumps!! awesome!! :)

  • I remember my first proper jump, they put it up quite high for the first time i must say lol.

  • My first jump was funny. I was on trail with my knabstrupp Pepper and we came across a fallen tree. It was small so it didn't bother her. And it was a clean jump, no sticks or branches in the way. First thought when I saw it was "Oh great, I have never jumped before" And yeah I could have turned around but if I want to be an amazing rider I have to not avoid new things so we broke into a fast canter and jumped it. Haha It was amazing! And you look great for your first time jumping :)

  • woo. i have my own horses and they all jump brilliantly (: well done for your first timein the english saddle! keep it up!!

  • How do make a horse jump do it by themself or do you do something

  • whats the difference from a english saddle to a western saddle>?

  • @BasketBallBalerina An English saddle is much smaller. It's used for dressage, jumping, and racing. A Western saddle is much bigger with a "horn" on the front. It's used for barrel racing, ranching, and roping.

  • Awesome!! That was good for your second time in an english saddle!! Love your horse! How high is he? :D

  • If u put youre leg on hard or squeez really hard he/she would go well

  • You did great!!! I can't wait until I start jumping. That is a big arena.

  • good job for your 1st time ever

  • ok heres the thing the horse only jumped 1 time all the other times he stepped over it

  • i like the pic at 0:04 and your a really good rider too

  • awh, this is such a cute video :-) xx

  • good, is it wierd in an english after years in a western? because i have always ridden english and i got in a western i was like... "DUDE! i see why people don't fall out of theese"... lol x i live in britain and i think you did a fab job in and english saddle, as they are hard. and i rode in a western for a while and going back was really difficult x

  • That is some sized arena there!

  • That was very good for you first jump, and canter! Well done! But one thing, try not to lean forward in the saddle as much when you ride :) x

  • Amazing Jumping for you first jump. I can jump but it is kinda tricky keeping my horse in canter :)

  • wait, not trying 2 be rude, but i dont think you should be jumping when it your second in an engllish saddle........ it sez that in the description! just saying i had my first jumping lesson a couple days ago but i didnt get it on video, and i have been riding for 4 years all english accept on a trail ride, just saying, not trying 2 be rude though!!!!! good job for your second time in an english saddle!

  • @choochoolewis ive been riding for 5 years and i can already jump 3ft... i started jumping after a year in a half....

  • hey, i think u did a pretty good job for your first time jumping! just keep practicing and u will be brilliant

  • @HorseyKrazy1765 They want us to feel like we r ready :)

  • @MrWatchorn Cool It Was Really small and we only did it 2 times with a leader :]

  • @myponylove123

Canter wasnt that great, she doesnt keep her seat properly, she bounces around on the saddle...

  • wow! so many rude comments! i think you did a great! for your first jumping lesson i think you did amazing! congrats to you :)

  • you think your horse was a butthead?! i've been trying to start jumping properly for months now, but the horse they like to dump on me (welsh cob arab...stunning, but horribly bad tempered :L) refuses almost every time :L "she likes jumping" yeah my ass ;) this is really awesome for your first go btw, keep it up :)

  • That was AWFUL

  • Ok you need practice!!!!!!! what a bad trainer!!!!!! you should be more advanced before you try jumping!

  • You did so awesome! I am learning to jump soon any tips anyone? Also can someone tell me how to get into the perfect canter i am a bit unsire of my cantering? :)

  • @emziibbz101

try getting into 2 point (half seat) before jumping and trot up to the jump in 2 point. so that when you jump you are already in the right position. just dont yank on the reins midway! i will post a video of me jumping if it helps!

  • @USAEquestrians Yes please it would really help! thanks :D

  • Great Job! Im Starting Trotting On Wensday Wish Me Luck :D And One More Thing When Ppl Start Putting Rude Coments Those Ppl Are Being Thoughtless! It Only Matters About What You Think Not Them So Ignore Them !!! Thumbs Up To You. I Wish You And Levi GoodLuck ! Keep On Riding

  • your a wierd jumper .

  • @meaanasbro5 I'm not even jumping yet!You can really hurt ppl!THINK!

  • @shanluvzhorses how has my comment got something to do with you? i wasnt talking about you.

  • Hey guys don't brag or say rude comments cause that may really hurt ppl.Be glad at your own level.I'm proud of myself and I'm not even jumping yet.She did awsome and if your out bragging about how high you jump maybe its beacause you wish you were as good as her at your first jumping lesson or your not happy inside. So don't let it out on innocent ppl!I honestly don't care about how high ppl jump its about all loving horses together.Think about how you can hurt someone if you post a rude comment.

  • your brilliant at jumping and cantering and trotting your excellent! :)

  • you did well for the first jumping lesson i cant even remember when mine was lol i ride a seven year old now so its a lot of training and some small jumps and we can now jump solids oxers verticals three rails and we do dressage and cross country

  • I've been riding since I was 4 and now I'm a teen and I'm just starting jumping...lol. Because there was a big gap in my riding life when I was 4-8...yeah. Then when I was 8-10 there was a gap, and I got my first HORSE when I was 10. And now I ride a lot, its so fun! I have vids of me riding but I was like 12 in them lol :)

  • Goregous! ^^ I think you did well! You should seen me jumping first time (excuse my bad english) I am sure that you are a good jumper right now (3 years after this video) We all start small, nobody gets up and ride like a pro, but sadly not everyone understands that! Kepp going there!

  • Thaats really, good for your fisrt time ! looks lke an awesome barrn ! :)

  • good job! you have really nice form.. and your horse looks like he is going to be great at it too!!! i remember my first jump.!! :D

  • that was great. i know it was like only your second time but it was great! my frist jump was like three poles on the ground but the pony jumped it like it was 2;0. but ya for your second time that was pretty good. my first jumps were pretty funny . but great job!!! :)

  • your trainer must think ur really good b/c that was only ur second time in a english saddle! Also how did u get all that gear ur second time in a jumping saddle? I had to wait a year 2 get all my gear!!

  • this is an avril lavigne's song, not ''hoku''

    hahhaa ;)

  • @MaiderCaballos that's definitely not avril..

  • Pretty good for a first time. :) Hope you kept going!!

  • That was brilliant !!!!!!

  • you should try to get the horse to trot a litle faster and after the jump keep him trotting or you might hold back the whole class the horse i rode was trotting a littl faster but no offence no offence

  • you should try to get the h2orse to trot a litle faster and after the jump keep him trotting or you might hold back the whole class the horse i rode was trotting a littl faster but no offence no offence

  • your really good ihave been riding since i was 2 but i started taking lessons when i was 8 your really good keep up the good work

  • Oh, good job, cool. I get my first jumping lesson tomorrow! I can't wait! But I get a new trainer for it....and the trainer is a beginner kind of like they just started teaching like a week ago...oh well! I hope I do good like you did! lol :)

  • Hey guys that are mean commenters why r u comparing? you should be happy at your level.Im happy eventhough Im not a jumper and I haven't been in any shows but do u see me crying?

  • hey I think you are an awsome ridder!!! Im almost jumping. Good job you did great!!! I luv the song!!!!!! :)

  • Woah! careful you don't go too fast up to that jump ;) Just kidding, by the way. You did great :)

  • Really good! My first jumping lesson, everytime my horse jumped (he jumped PERFECTLY), I was so scared that I'd fall off that I jumped out of the saddle and pretended I fell. xP Haha, so this was reallly good!

  • THAT WAS FAB, well done! keep it up

  • cool pretty horse

  • just a tiny word of advice not to be rude or anything x.x but if he's just a school horse, ask to ride another horse your next lesson, because he didnt even jump the crossrail the first few times he kidna trotted over it

but for your second english lesson, this is really good! i spent like 4 years riding western and its really hard to switch back and forth between the two... good job :)))

  • Hey knhorsegirl, good on you, you did well. Keep enjoying it. And to anyone who has critisied or said "I jumped higher than that" BLAH BLAH BLAH bloody BLAH I dont understand why people feel the need to boast or say, "I've been riding for 5 yrs and I jump higher than you". SO what??????? I usually find that people who boast about what they have done, usually havent and actually havent got a clue.

  • You did really well!

  • lots of improvement form the first to the last jump! :) much better than my first jumping lesson. i accidentally cantered to it and then screamed. but now im much better.

  • dont listen 2 anyone else you did amazing

ur just the kind of person to grow to end up

    at the olympics

~ trust me i know it hard <3

  • nice love your position

  • Nice Job!

  • when your horse isn't wanting to go hit him on the butt with a crop it wakes them up right away.

  • heey , i have 5 horses , and one of them looks just like the bay in this , he is pretty much the first horse you seen in the video , right infornt of you when it starts i was wondering what type of horse he was , if you email it to my on my youtube that would be great ! thanks( :

  • cool

  • well nice riding school!!!!!! x

  • @hunterjumper833 no if they think she's good enough and they think it is a good time than she can.

  • Comment removed

  • Is it fun...My next lesson on the 14th of may 11 I am going to be doing my first pole jump...i dont know how to feel....any advice?

  • AT LEAST SHE CAN CANTER! i've fallen off 4 times trying to get my brat of a pony to canter! But we jump alot its awesome! GOOD JOB! You should try Pony club youd love it!

  • guys come on. this was her first time both cantering AND jumping. it took me 3 years of riding before i did my first jump. she did really good for her first time at both. good job girl!

  • wow, first time I jumped I (must be 15 years ago now, time flies) was on a shetland. Don't know if I would have dared to jump a horse my first time, you're brave :)

  • i would try spurs and every couple of strides squezz with your calfs and tap with your heel. I like to tap my horse everytime i sit down when posting. My horse is just like yours in the video he caners and then stops.

  • ahh i rememver the 1st time i jumped :D :D best feeling ever!!

  • nice place to ride, you have a lot of space! I like that!!! ^^

Nice for firsts jumps! Your hands more a bit too much and your position isn't perferct, but we all start somewhere! And for your balance, you'll see it'll come with time and with bigger jumps (do not need a huge one) you'll see that it's even easier cause the horse «really» jumps. ;)

  • Considering that that was ur first time cantering in an english saddle u did very well. WHen u canter in a western saddle its a little bouncy SO GOOD JOB

  • OK LOOK. We all gotta start SOMEWHERE. When i first started jumping, I was TERRIBLE!!!! I never thought i was going to get any better because i sucked so bad. Now look at me; i jump over 3 ft and am going to the PBIEQ in florida to show were all the pros show during the winter season! I have pictures of how terrible i was and i was told just how badly i rode ALL THE TIME. So for the people who think that its not cool that she is just learning how to jump, shudddup! You're not being nice at all!

  • @richyb21 Maybe she didn't start riding until she was older. I know I didn't start until I was nine. And I have been riding over 5 years. And I still can't jump and I have ridden 11 different horses soon to be 12. So get off her case!

@knhoregirl You will do are awsome. I belive you can!

  • @pumba that is a tiny cross rail isnt gonna hurt her

  • You were pretty good for your first time jumping:) when you are coming to the jump keep a leg on him so he will keep moving in the trot, then when he goes over the cross pole you will not get popped out of the tack, or fall onto his neck. :) But you were really good for your second time in the english saddle :)

  • First of all, Good for your first time jumping! Second, you should never ever ask for your gait 2 -4 strides before your jump, get your gait, have it where you want it (working trot) then head to the jump, it'll give you a better line and your horse more balance. Also keep your leg on before during and after a jump, otherwise you'll get what you have gotten here a break and your horse just walking.

  • Umm... More like a trotting pole and shouldn't you atleast be a a working trot towards the jump???... Not a trot/walk

  • I like this! Nice jumping, pity your horse was being a butt head ahah.

Also its the dark! aha, I couldnt see the jump XD stupid indoor arenas ay? :)

  • im learning to jump but i had too many falls =/ but its ok life goes on :D

  • thats really good!!! i wish i could learn how to jump

  • good job!

Your just jelous becuase she cantered AND jumped on her FIRST day AND ONE OF HER FIRST DAYS IN AN ENGLISH SADDLE. knhorsegirl you did an AWESOME JOB!! :)

  • you are great at horse back ridding

  • When You Canter, Try To Sit Back, Relax And Get Your Leg Back :)

  • I thought that was pretty good for your first time :)

  • no offence but your not that good at all the jump was tiny and he didnt even jump it sorry but i ride and thats looked more like a trotting pole cause he didnt jump it

  • awh bless:-) this may sound strange but your a nice shape. like person, for horse riding. dont know if its only me but some people have the perfect physique to look really nice on horses. & that was cute, the first jump wasnt your fault what so ever i wouldn't think. the horse was going in to the jumps lazy so wasnt thinking, in a bit of a dream world la dee da, then trips up a bit.:-) you looked nice. you will get so much better with time. :D x

  • Wow great riding how long have you been riding and where r u riding in the vids?

  • When I first looked at the video, I thought you were a pro! You have nice breeches, pretty half chaps, your hands are really low, your shoulders back, and you look really confident! Great job!!

  • @richyb21 WOW, you must think your so cool, your age on your account says your 45, you little puke!! Leave knhorsegirl alone she did GREAT!!!!

  • @richyb21 WOW, you must think your so cool, your age on your account says your 45, you little puke!!

  • Wow when i first started jumping i was wayyy worse then you... good job :) How high are you jumping now??

  • This is very good I thought

  • wow that was so good the canter was really good and with the jumping it was a bit rough to start but at the end you were jumping like a pro i hope that when i start jumping i am just as good as you!

  • well done for your first time:)

  • cute!! did good for your first timee :)

  • haha but you can never hate levi! even if he is slightly mentally retarded :)

  • those look more like trot poles than jumps. maybe its the distance

  • cute pony!

  • @richyb21 u act soo gud and everythin but i bet ur not even gud. the more u critisize people then the more u'll get critisized so i suggest u shut that big fat gob of urs

  • how tall is the horse and u were great although levi stepped over it, he looks really lazy though

  • my horse looks exactly like your sorrel one! not even kidding! cool video

  • You're very good for lerning,, I hate to addmit it but even better then me!!

  • i wouldn t count the first 2 jumpsas a jump more as a trotong pole but the other bigger ones u jumped well

you also arent that bad at cantering

  • get more go and it will be easier :)

  • Gawsh...

Ignore all the silly comments people post...

    Like richyb21.

I think you did a GREAT JOB for someone who hasn't jumped before :D

    Jumping is great(:

I just posted a video today of me jumping ...

Good for you to start jumping!

  • @richyb21 wow AREN'T YOU COOL! not

  • @richyb21 LOL good for you but don't you think it was kinda rude he way you putted that out? just sayn cause there are people that begin to ride earlyer or later then others for example i started to ride when i was 4 years old i was gallopping and jumping 1 mt at six everyone has they re own experience. this girl has started to jump now i bet one day she'll be jumping higher and higher. wanted just to pint that out cause the key is not how much you ride is how much effort you put in riding ;D

  • @richyb21 Thats kind of rude... you should just keep your comments to yourself. thats good that you can jump.. but didnt you see. it was her first jumping lesson....

  • @richyb21 so?????

  • @richyb21 wow just because you've been riding for 2 years dosent mean you can make fun of people jeez she was just learning i've been riding for like 3 months and im like her are you gunna make fun of me? be nice or dont say anything at all jeez

  • @richyb21 but this is the first time ever this girl jumps

  • @richyb21 nobody really cares! i bet your just jealous of her. la la la la la can't hear you! your jealous! la la la la

  • @richyb21 Wow, youve been riding for two you years and jump betaa shockerr, this is her first lesson in jumping of course your gnna be betaa ? :L

  • @richyb21 Omg give her a break! It CLEARLY said FIRST jumping lesson and FIRST time cantering in an english saddle. We all remember our first jump our first gallop etc and whether we admit it or not we wernt the greatest riders ever so anyway well done to you and with practice you'll be great! xx

  • @richyb21 and why does anyone care how good you are every one has diff confident levels and learn at differant rate i learnt how to jump quick fatser then i learnt how to canter then i took a bad fall and it took me months to gain that confidence back and wow 2 yrs and wow 10 yrs im 16 and have been riding since i was 3 lessons since i was 9 leave her alone she pretty good not to mention this was taken in 08 soo shed be much better now if shes kept her riding up

  • @richyb21 Yup you way to cool for my boys age 10 11 12

  • @richyb21 Wow! Congratz! You are officially one of the brattiest 10 year olds on youtube! Why don't you go brag about it to some one who actually cares!

  • @richyb21 Uhm can't you read? first jumping lesson that means that if you ride 2 years you should jump better but your a perfect little "I am better then the rest" person congrets

  • @richyb21 well maybe her riding school is WAY better than urs and they like to take it slow!!!!!

  • @richyb21

Leave her alone! She did great! Your mom is probably the only one that says you canter better because no one else wants to lie to you and say the truth. You suck. Your a little brat. Grow up. And WOW! So what if you jump. I bet you suck at it. Grow the hell up. Even if you are a good rider, makeing everyone else feel bad about there riding makes you the worst kind of rider. The kind that has no respect. You little brat. Shut the hell up.

  • @horserideinglover you go girl!
