  • Another masterpiece, Come down and walk beside me in the sun is so beautiful.

  • thanks so much for posting this. i haven't heard this song since the 60's when a local group used to sing it at our dances. didn't know Bobby Lind sang this. thanks, love it

  • record was so underrated...This should have been "Top 10". I loved it, and when I got on "the air" a year later..I played the hell out of it...Bob Lind, was so overlooked.

This was a real "gem". I blame stations for not pushing it more, and "World Pacific" Records, for not stocking stations with more copies, when it was out originally.

  • This should have went way to the top!! I cannot understand listener's views on songs. This is a REALLY GOOD TUNE!! When I got on the air, a year later, I played it,and listeners would ask me..."Is This New". They had never heard it!! Incredible. I blame radio stations, and World Pacific for not plugging the hell out of this!!

  • Recorded May,1966-Charted at No. 65. Thanks dunepaul9999!

  • I remember at the time wondering just why this song didn't make it to the top - indeed, it is a mystery why Mr. Lind remained yoked to Elusive Butterfly, he was such a talented singer.

  • God, I love YOUTUBE ! I have sooo waited for this . One of the best songs ever! Dunepaul9999 you are the best ! 'nuff said. THANKS.

  • As I age, I have come to appreciate the Poets in life. Wheather it be poems, music, song, painting, architecture, or sculpturing. These people can express with their talents what most of us are feeling. Truly, Bob Lind is among those gifted people. I have nearly all his albums and visit with them quite often. Thanks for sharing on You tube for all to hear or become acquainted with his poetry.

  • very good song.not sure about the third verse though.a little out there.still a very nice piece of music by a real writer and musician.

  • Both his albums have lost or stolen from me , but I karioked Elusive Butterfly of Love the other night and everyone said "Wow"

  • Great song. I was 15 years old when Elusive Butterfly came out in 1966. Tonight is the first time I have heard Truly Julie's Blues. I understand where he's going with all the song except for the part about the crippled children. Can you shed some light on that part? Best I can figure is that I'll be there for you when you're taken for granted. Thanks for sharing

  • I think u understand correctly, that was my interpretation also.

  • @dunepaul9999 Can't imagine what else it could be I think Almostundoable nailed it.

  • I always thought it was talking about helping people to become strong enough not to be dependent/controlled by others and the resentment of the ones who had lost their power over them.

  • Bob Lind's interpretation of this great Cascades song is wonderful!! Thanks for posting!

  • one of my favorite songs/albums. thanx. this is so special. bob was grossly passed by by the masses

  • love to listen to over and over again

  • What a pretty song

    Hugs

    Rosemarie

  • I love this song...

  • you've got great taste

  • Just one of Bob's great songs, he is so under-rated

  • one of the top folk songs of all time!!!!!

  • I agree and thanks for commenting.

  • Beautiful song...beautiful lyrics....

    Jim

  • I have this on vinyl. One of my few prized posessions.

  • Very nice song to add to the Lind list with

    the "Elusive Butterfly"

  • This song has incredible and mysterious lyrics.

  • Great song but still can't beat Elusive Butterfly!

1966- I was in Borneo with the headhunters!

  • Nothing can beat it. But it's too bad he was a one hit wonder when he had songs that were outstanding.

  • Terrific song-also covered by The Cascades.

  • This guy was on fire in 1966!

  • they used to play this on the radio in l.a. few noticed. it didn't last long. years later i got my hands on the album. quite special and exquisite. fine song. thanx for posting

  • great find - i always found this one of the more enigmatic JATA songs and didnt know it was a cover until recently

  • I love this song. I think this was flip side of "remember the rain"
