  • i heard of chip music a couple of weeks ago and saw a dj perform. saw this video and found that its from 2007. i hate my life. i find awesome shit years later.

  • It's just like the old FLStudio!

  • the guy in the background was like

    lololololololololololololol

  • WoW!! Awesone, i like so much!

  • damn AND a 808 kit

  • what is this, i want it. the program

  • i wish i had your tallent. my songs always sound empty. im new to lsdj tho, so i guess ill get the hang of it one day.

  • @derpinator78 me too- I got a rom yesterday! Shame you can't buy the cartridges anymore... I'm sitting with a USB controller I swear every bar takes me like half an hour :')

  • oh so thats how it's done!!! good to know lmao.

  • Awesome song; felt like look at a guitarists fingers move across the fretboard and studying it xD

    MOAR LEIK DIS!!!

  • I need a job in this

  • We have come a long way in technology. These days it cheaper to just record an entire song in .wav or some compression on a SD chip than use a synthesizer

  • Good god I would go insane... Still that's awesome

  • can u even show us how gameboy games are made?

  • lol SPACEBALLS 3:11

  • like 8 bit song (y)

  • alright, alright, i'll say it.

    240p, we meet again.

  • CHECK OUT MY CHIP-TUNE MUSIC!! SCOTT.NATHAN.TINEO IS A BRAND NEW CHIPTUNE ARTIST OF 2012 AND IS LOOKING FOR FANS AND SUPPORT!! CHECK IT OUT TECHNO FANS! HES ONLY 17 AND MAKES HELL OF A BEAT! lET ME KNOW IF I HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A CHIPTUNE ARTIST

  • DAT BASS!

  • i never knew such a puny device could do awesome music like that!

  • @Pokepimp30875 You have a link to the OGG version in the video description. It compresses better than MP3 and is better for chiptune.

  • This program, I find is extremely difficult to get into...

  • does anyone hear:"space space space space..." -from portal2 ???

  • At first I was "eh, i know basic tracking" and then VOCALS.

  • kanye who>?

  • The little vocal clips in between, are those native or are those patched in?

  • Exactly like openmpt my favorite ^_^

  • DUBSTEP COMES FROM HERE O.O IM SURE

  • @MrGrimgraff No, 8bit could never spawn something so god awful

  • @jamesingtonthethird just listen to excision's megaman track... mixes 8bit song with the insane drops of excision and datsik... hmmm...

  • omg awesome music o.O

  • I Dont Like This I LOVE IT!!!

    This Is EPIC!!

  • What... Did i just watch???!!

    Awesome!

  • hey stg7, can you like convert the file formatt into a wmv. or Windows Media Player file so it can be readible on my computer? It works on my pc at home, but not windows xp.

  • Um, why not just use a tracker? They even make them for Windows and Linux, I understand, and not just DOS.

  • @macsnafu LSDj is a tracker, and I find it funnier and more challenging to use low-end hardware.

  • @stg7 Okay, fair enough. I've still got some Adlib Trackers for DOS, like RAD and Edlib.

  • @stg7 How can you make this and call it "low-end hardware"? The sounds are very complex and deep....not low end at all. Kick ass track for sure!!

  • @RadicalDan Thanks, but I'm just a humble composer... Take a minute to check the real pros and what they do with Game Boys, NES's, Ataris and the like, your mind will be blown :D

  • @macsnafu makes more fun ^^xD

  • @macsnafu This is not DOS, lol

  • how do i use and obtain this "Tracker ROM"?

  • WIN!

  • OMG ITS THE DEMO ART SONG "1995"!!! *Favorites*

  • I'm sick of this :{ so dizzy

  • If you want something like this for free it might be worth looking at madtracker 2. It's what I used before I started making things like house and dubstep :P

  • i love it from 59 :)

  • This looks like a pain in the ass! lol, I will stick with Ableton!

  • is the program on the gameboy like milkytracker?

  • The demo "1995" uses this song.

  • this tune is so catchy!

  • what exactly do i buy to get this. an actual game boy and ???

  • This made me wonder how a 3ds song is composed...

  • At 0:00 I was staring at my computer; at 2:30 I realized I was a bobblehead

  • errr, confuse. i never use one but i wanna ask, where this can be made? computer? or gameboy itself?

  • *Clicking on video* Holy Shit.....

  • Thanks man, this take me back to good time. Times, that i miss so much

  • whats the song name after the 8bit one?

  • Thats awesome ^_^

  • That is freaking awesome! From what I saw, it scrolls through the sounds at a pace to make the music. Simple and effective.

  • uuuuuuummmmmm...... what?

  • My brain exploded when I tried to understand this...

  • @KrunchBerriez And your sitll living???? *GASP*

  • @Blaze8472 Remarkable isn't it? i was even more confused by that

  • @KrunchBerriez Lol I know right?

  • I actually caught my self dancing.

  • Very nice! ty =)

  • im i the only one here whos just seeing random numbers flash XD

  • @bornacriminal MASON...

  • @bornacriminal yeah what the hell?? lmao

  • Pretty Epic!

  • becuz I'm kinda dumbfounded about how you even put this together.

  • ok. so were you born with it or what?

  • this seems complicated for me and i thought shit was simpler back then... damnn

  • This thing gave me diharea.

  • Holy... Sht....

  • sounds like something kesha would use

  • Nerdy shit gettin me hott :P couldnt they have put that on a cartridge and sold that when i was a kid when i actually PLAYED gameboy? we'd all be professional maestros!!

  • That was fuckin amazing.

  • That was so nerdy

  • proof music is just a math, bunch of letters and numbers

  • can you give me a software download link PLEASE

  • i dont knw how people can create music from a few numbers and letters but ... well done :D

  • HAHHA DAMN! hell yeah! :D

  • I WANT

  • Why DSiware doesn't have a Gameboy music program, I can't figure out.

  • @WebVMan it does look harder

  • Geeks will rule the world

  • @Melicioel7 Thats what the Greeks thought

  • this. is. beautiful.

  • holy shit looks so complicated!

    what a skill...

  • ohhh amazing! 8 bit sounds better than what i originally though... i just suppose this takes up so much space and processing power the dev's just cba making a "deep" song

  • It's 1995 not 1985. But still, it's very good.

  • @CzechDDR

    The demo is called "1995".

The original song is called "Choose zero polys and shaders".

This song is called "Choose zero polys and shaders (1985 remix)" because of its retro sound.

    Three different things.

  • @stg7 ah, thanks :) my bad

  • @stg7 oh okay... and... wait one moment, is the artist who made this called Little BITCHard.

  • @Nentedo63 Yes ;)

  • @CzechDDR Ownd...

  • Ok guys I'm sure hes tired of seeing comment responses in his inbox on how typed words have a voice. It was funny, just laugh to yourself.

  • lol im not even gonna pretend I know whats going on here, but that looks like a lotta work lmao.

  • not to spam or advertise but FWIW look up Byzanite here and on 8bitcollective (no video but downloadable audio) he doesn't show it in his vids but all his 8 bit work is in LSDJ and a few of his songs he also uses the KORG Kaoss Pad 3 (KP3) paired with LSDJ. he has a vid on here ( watch?v=bhtU_mVHBgE ) Castle Low LoLoLoLo where he does some "live" effects with the KP3. i thought it was neat my first 200 times watching it lmao

  • @Mefallisandlinerider ok mr. english teacher, tell me all the ways that a title with no punctuation can determan hings like passive or active. oh, and while your at it, give me all the rules for smileys :|

  • Mad Demogroup references in the 2nd vocal part!!

  • This is neat!

  • holy crap, well that's a really good tune! xD

I need it for my ipod O_O

  • great video,

i know how to do this

    1. download QBasic

    2. extract (of course)

    3. click on help and click on music statement and typ notes like in this sample CDEFGABC C#D#EF#G#A#BC# CDbEbFGbAbBbC

and you can change the tempo/rythem

    4. don't forget to vote IFENDER RULEZ

  • im really new to 8bit stuff. i have 4 videos, anyone want to check them out?

if u do please comment because i reeealy need help at getting better. :)

  • How can i do it ?

  • This simple 8 bit song beats 99% of all the songs out there made with more advanced stuff

  • @kolleamm hahahaha, ok, dude. Won't argue there and i do agree but 99% is rather a laaaarge margin, yah feel me?

  • I like how it's called "how a game boy song is composed" and I thought it'd explain how to compose a song on gameboy, but I was wrong.

  • @luno44 That's why the title is in passive voice.

  • @stg7 how can typed words have a voice?

  • @dragonnutds LSDj uses a very simple voice synth through so-called "allophones" which allocates a specific instrument in the wave channel with pre-sampled speech sounds. Instead of notes like "C-4" or "G#5", these allophones are notated as simple sounds like "OH" and "ER". Chaining these sounds you can form any word or phrase in English language you can imagine.

  • @stg7 u just taught me how to write words :D

  • @stg7 Best comeback, ever.

  • @stg7 I think he was saying 'how is it a passive voice." But do explain that, you need to explain basic grammar... And this is the internet, we dun not Bleave N gramar!

  • @stg7 Fucking smartass

    I love it.

  • @stg7 hey buddy did you google that? :D

  • @stg7 I understood @dragonnutds as a pun...

  • @dragonnutds The same way any words have voice. Learn grammar, foo.

  • @dragonnutds Because words are audial. Many people speak them out loud in their heads when they read. If it was a tutorial video though, it would probably say HOW TO COMPOSE A SONG ON A GAME BOY not How a Game Boy Song is Composed. Maybe put "how to" in your search

  • @djruinerdotcom first of all, i did not search for this, it came up in related videos, second of all, not everyone reads the words the same way in their head,

  • @dragonnutds basically it says "how a gameboy song is composed(how it is done not how to do it)" not "how to(the active) compose a gameboy song"

  • @dragonnutds it says "how a gameboy song is composed" not "how to compose a gameboy song"

  • @dragonnutds HAHA! I laughed so hard at that "How can typed words have a voice?" comment! I'm not even kidding, that was epic.

  • @dragonnutds It's called the english language... learn it.

  • @dragonnutds "voice" refers to the point-of-view the words are in, there's the active and passive voices. when you say passive voice, the action is being done to the subject, when you say active, the subject is the one doing the action.

Passive Voice example: The dude was killed by that person

Active Voice example: The dude killed that person

It doesn't necessarily mean the words actually have a "voice"

  • @dragonnutds LOL GO BACK TO GRAMMAR CLASS

  • @dragonnutds Please pay attention in sophomore English class.

  • @dragonnutds Looool

  • @luno44 it does. its a little fast if you dont know how to use the program. this video just is not for beginners.

  • @luno44 it kinda does. its showing u how to use LSDJ which is a basic chiptune making thingy

  • FL studios 9.0 and Ableton learn in their history class :D

  • Just AWESOME *-*

  • LSDJ!!!!! :D

  • it's like an mpc.

    just about 600000000x as hard.

  • Awesome! Funky music.

  • I still dont understand how to get the notes right. Im trying to use this on my gameboy for a live set but i can't figure out what notes are what, and how to make the triplets and all of that. but good job on this. Could you help me out?

  • @ShinRa8bit LOOK UP LMMS and then look up TWEAK BENCH please spread word to all!!!!!!

  • @RTard48JRod haha alright i will.

  • @RTard48JRod WEll the problem is that im running a mac and im looking more of a hardware type use. My computer runs my drums live and i play everything else. That is why i want to use LSDJ

  • Nice. I really gotta get back into this stuff.

  • I love it!!!!!

  • from demo called "1995" by Kewlers & MFX

  • Holy crap this makes my head hurt. Awesome though.

  • 0:56 is FUCKING AWESOME!!

  • I made instrumental Slipknot and Suicide Silence songs to go along with playing my copy of Tetris. xD

  • whats the song in the credits?

  • @sargonmoroku Choose Zero Polys and Shaders (1in10 Trance Remix). Search it in scenemusic·net.

  • @stg7 thanks a ton :D

  • @sargonmoroku it's a tchdemo from Demoscene called "1995" one of the most awesome demos made by an dissolved team of coders who were born in pure AWESOME

  • @LaManchaNoctambula This has already been answered and it may be the name of the original song, the music in the credits is a different version of it. Check uploader comments.

  • It's really great from 0:58 to 1:26 (and the other part later with that same beat) The 'gameboy sings' part doesn't, er.. sound good. It's pretty hard to tell it's trying to make words, more so next to impossible knowing what they are. The best one can do is read the lyrics and gabble them together in a sort of 'oh ya I guess I can hear it' state. Nice job though!

  • so if I had a emulator like Visualboy advance I could still use this program?- if so that would be awsome, cause I am wanting to add chiptune more to my list of genres I do, I have done some in the past... but sadly I lost them...

  • @DJelectfire Yes, you can use LSDj within an emulator.

  • Comment removed

  • Sweet! This is awesome. :)

  • Are you using an emulator?

I need to use an emulator for now, because I don't have a cartridge available, and the one I'm using now just fucks up the drums.

  • @nilsfg0 Yes, I'm using VisualBoy Advance.

  • @nilsfg0 i have artages ans shit.. but i cant doo shit like this.. or anything like 8bit like.. tell me how? :D

  • its called LSDj cuz when your on a LSD Trip everything sounds so jingly

  • I'm in no mood to be offensive, but I really didn't like the song too much. Maybe it is a question of time before I do, nevertheless it is a neat way to compose music.

  • I love Drums part

    0:57 to 1:27

  • I have the rom on my psp, dumped from the cartridge, do you know how to make those voices?

  • 14people = justin bieber fans

  • cool! Old times was great. Nowdays 3D high resolution craps are just for one thing!
