That's exactly why it's the perfect liner for Neo.

The question of "choice" in the movie is brought with prohpesies and free will, the series is left with an open ending because it never sattles which was right, the intake of Fate or intake of Free Will.

"Because I choose to" shows the interntal struggle Neo is faced to prove to himself he is incharge of his own fate, which in the next few scenes brings the questions of the truth behind of his free will; to be true or void.
