  • He's a jerk.

  • what an idiot!

  • It's okay Brian. We all know the truth.

  • and those people laughing and applauding man, what the fuck? those are just as bad as Mike

  • fucking piece of shit man, this fucking prick should burn in hell forever man, what a disgrace

How come he's alive and Carl and Dennis are not, man, what the fuck

look at that face ,its the DEVIL

  • Comment removed

  • this fucking prick man, Mike Love should be run over by a 409, fucking devil

  • Mike Love says it like it is! Bravo Mike!

  • @runescapegodzammy

    FUCK YOU

  • Comment removed

  • @jammmon You're funny! You're like a "clown" kinda funny! Say something else clown! Say something else! You entertain me! Say something with the "F" word in it again! Can you do that for me clown? We're you born a clown? Did your parents teach you how to be a clown? Did you go to some sort of "clown school"? HAHA! Say something else! Say something else!

  • Come on - Mike Love doesn't get the credit he deserves. He wrote a lot of the lyrics for some of the Beach Boys most beloved tunes. Give the guy a break. He made that stupid event interesting.

  • Who is this guy again??

  • I HATE THIS PRICK.

  • Elton John is the man.

  • Mike Love: The true genius of the Beach Boys.

  • @juslookin3 Really? You'd pick Mike Love over Brian Wilson? Brian Wilson WROTE PET SOUNDS. Like, pretty much the whole thing.

  • What a horse's ass.

  • Mike Love is an embarrassment.

  • Mike, there is a reason why people have said for years that Mike Love is crazy. They are right! You're crazier than a shithouse rat!

  • @gamecock366 Crazy, no; a**hole, yes.

  • I hope Love realizes that the only reason he's there is because of Brian

  • His screws have been loosened by his own sense of self-importance - it borders on delusional - who the hell does he think he is, Donald Trump (tongue firmly in cheek)??

    Geez, Love, you're a damn pop-band singer, for Christ's sake - that's it

  • For this fucking JIZZMOP to even put himself against Sir Paul or Sir Mick and to go even further by challenging The Rolling Stones and calling Mick a "chickenshit"? I don't think it's so much balls , as it is a drunken fucking baffoon. Compare fucking album sales vs these idiots, go one further! Compare longevity to these clowns! The Rolling Stones have remained extremely relevant since their inception. The Beach Boys? Only two eras : 61-66 and again in 1988 with that shitty "Kokomo", fuck off!

  • Has this creep no sense of shame? This is so crass. I think he had a great voice in the Beach Boys - how could you be a Beach Boy if you couldn't REALLY sing? But what an arrogant creep he's shown himself to be! Seeing this makes it very easy to believe the assertions that he used to bully poor sensitive Brian. He used to belittle one of the most gifted melody and harmony composers in popular music, called the sublime Good Vibrations "avant-garde shit". What an ignorant, envious, idiotic CNUT.

  • Sad, mad, deluded and sad again.

  • Never cared for Mile Love, but now I like him, even though I like all the people he mentioned. Is he dissing them, calling them out in a duel-esque manner (with a possible freestyle battle?), or just poking fun harmlessly?

  • @SCBianchi I think he's drunk and being arrogant.

  • so badass

  • I don't condone what he said & he comes across as arrogant, BUT Love is 1 of the GREATEST showmen & songwriters of our time, PERIOD. He had a part in the writing & orchestration of nearly EVERY Beach Boys song & is responsible for keeping the band ALIVE the past 2 DECADES......

  • @MrSummertime81 if by kept alive you mean turned them into a parody of themselves...

  • This just goes to show that SIR. James Paul McCartney had more balls than this bitch by not being a hypocrite and pretending everything is all good between his band mates and going to the induction...unlike this pussy saying "SMILE" was great now when he was the main one talking shit about it back in the 60's. Talks shit about the greatest band on earth then goes on to quote Mr. John Lennon by saying "World Peace and Love"...what a Botox using idiot.

  • The wrong Beach Boys died.

  • @Mrsilenciobackgammon Brian's still alive!

  • Mike Love is nothing compared to the artists he's dissing here. He wouldn't be shit without Brian Wilson.

  • WHY IS JOHN LENNON DEAD, AND THIS GUY IS STILL RAKING IN THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND HITTING ON GIRLS 30 YEARS YOUNGER THEN HIM? FFFUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • @alliant Hahahahahaa!!!!!

  • @alliant That's the philosophical problem of evil in a nutshell. The real world is absurd.

  • mike love is obviously the daddy of this genre, gervais can only aspire to this

  • fucking republican twat

  • Brian was the normal one after all

  • ARSEHOLE

  • He was always a knob.

  • welcome to the jungle

  • YES..... BUT..... you cant argue with Mike from 2:20 - 2:34 maybe he should do less Meditation and more thinking

  • Why is he one to talk about Paul? This guy fucking sued his own band mates...... great band, but he's an asswipe

  • LoL!! Mike Love sings "Kick Out the Jams" ... :-) Elton's comment at the end is PERFECTION!! :-) hahahaa!!

  • Geez, get out the straightjacket.

  • Ramble on....

  • Wow. What a dickhead. He hardly makes any sense. I feel bad for the other Beach Boys who must've been very embaressed over this. If he would have been ousted from the Beach Boys the band would have lost a tambourine player, a lousy saxophonist, a lousy theremin player and a tacky MC. Danny Hutton would have mad a good replacement for Mike Love.

  • Shit! What a painful sight! What a lucky shit to be a cousin to the Wilsons!

  • @Goeslightly Yeah, and the food didn't taste very well, right.? How could this guy even attempt to make the statement ; "and we love ALL people"? In my 57 years I've never heard anyone say that Mike Love was "crazy". He's confusing the word "crazy" with "JERK", and how in the world does a frigging singer jam? His reference to Woody Guthrie: "this guy with the guitar". This had to be a put on. No one could be this much of a walking embarassment .

  • @LOOKN450 That's the word 'JERK', spelled A-S-S-H-O-L-E.

  • We couldn't surf very... good.

  • It must pain this guy to no end to even utter the words MOP TOP ...

  • The other Boys must have been cringing in horror backstage throughout this. This guy is hands-down the biggest A-Hole to ever grace a popular music stage. And my theory as to why Mike Love is so miserable comes down to one single issue ... HAIR !!! or more pointedly, the lack of it. the 60's were all about hair. The Beatles had it, the Stones had it, even Diana Ross had it, but due to his lousy Karma the powers that be saw to it that starting in his late teens he would lose his ...

  • You know why Brian Wilson developed mental problems, he realized that Mike was his cousin...

  • "thank fuck he didn't mention me" - HAHAHAHA classic elton!

  • This guy is a flipping d-bag. Always was. Who the hell does he think he was? He should have been happy the 3 bros let him tag along.

  • What arrogance for someone with such little talent he did little for the beach boys, compared to b. Wilson and Wilson comes off as a much kinder man

  • "i'd like to thank, erm, mike love, for not mentioning me" - bob dylan, making his speach just after this!

  • When he's not insulting other performers, he just keeps babbling and babbling.

  • What an asshole

  • blithering, boring, idjut...

worth watching for the Elton John punch line at the end !!

  • Brian should have just suckerpunched him

  • All the Beach Boys' music I've purchased through the years was well worth every cent I spent, but I'm deeply sorry that even one cent of it went to that classless a**hole, Mike Love. The band's musical legacy would have been so much better if Mke had never been a member. (Brian always sang Mike's vocal parts far better than Mike did. With all due respect to Al, Bruce, and David Marks--whom I have nothing against--the Wilson brothers could have done just as well as a trio.)

  • @DrNSalmon I agree

  • @waialaebeach Mike begins his classless rant by lamenting that particular rock stars didn't attend the ceremony. I believe his anger stems from their absence. He thinks himself superior to them and generally unappreciated. (He even interrupts Brian's heartfelt speech, thereby spoiling the moment for his genuinely talented benefactor.) The Beach Boys probably are underappreciated, but certainly not Mike. The Wilson brothers always were the heart & soul of that supergroup.

  • @DrNSalmon

moreover, beach boys are probably even more underappreciated thanks again to Mike Love, due to the fact that he vetoed out Brian's "Smile" project in the mid-60s cause the latter didn't "stick to the formula" (of harmonies) but was trying to create a new psychedelic sound. Lo and behold, Beatles would then release Sgt. Pepper, their most successful and now hailed as the pioneers of psychedelic rock. Thanks Mike.

  • @teddypicker12345 Your point is well taken. I'm not sure that the "formula" that Mike wanted the band to stick to was the awesome Brian Wilson vocal arrangements. There is some of that on "SMiLE"--the "Prayer" bits and "Good Vibrations." Maybe Mike wanted to stick to the tried-&-true surf/cars/girls/fun themes and to performining live at large venues, instead of going all artsy/psychedelic with Van Dyke Parks' substantial poetry, etc. (I personally like both aspects of the BB's legacy.)

  • How could this guy insult the "Mop Tops," Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ray and Davies, Pete Townshend were way better songs writers than this idiot.

  • *sigh*

  • Now I know why he wears the hat, not because he's bald, but because it keeps that loose brain of his from falling on the floor. Could you imagine working with this bitter fuck? Major props to the Wilsons, Jardine, Johnson, et al.

  • Nothing says "love and harmony" like rudely insulting other people while accepting an award. I applaud you, Mr. Love.

  • FUNNY STUFF, BOOZE TALKIN SAYS SOME TRUE STUFF...

  • wanker of the highest order.

  • this is like a WWE promo

  • Why doesn't Mike take that hat off so we can see the beautiful hair of his?

  • Does anyone know if Mike was drunk during this?

  • Oh wow, this looks like a crowd recording. The angles and stuff are different than the other video on YouTube. You should have seen John Lennon's son's expression when Mike snubbed The Beatles.

  • Wow seriously? I'm a giant Beach Boys fan but jesus Mike that was kinda douchey... And take the fuckin hat off, it doesn't match your tux. You just look awful.

  • Fuck you Mike Love. Douchebag.

  • Even Mike Love has to give his props to the greatest of all time, Ali

  • Mike Love, Not War!

  • This is some speech! Jesus! I never saw this!

  • Mike Love is a Douche.... but I find solace in the fact that even when he was the "frontman" for the beach boys, he was always overshadowed by Brian's voice, looks, and stage presence.... Long Live the Wilsons... that being said... Mike Love is the "original" Surf voice.... so he does get props... but still....

  • I shall now love, adore and worship Reggie Dwight for the rest of my freaking life!!!! LOL. S'TRUTH!

  • thank fuck he didnt mention me ;)

  • I've heard/read about this infamous Mike Love rant, & now that I've finally gotten around to tracking it down on YouTube, my reaction is as follows:

It is definitely an incoherent train wreck. However, on the Mike-Love-Douche-Baggery scale, it registers barely a blip. Compare it w/ all of the cringe-inducing footage from the 80s. You know, like when he's wearing Stars-&-Stripes-themed stage outfits, w/ a red-white-&-blue mesh baseball cap, sucking Ronald Reagan's cock, or lip-syncing to Kokomo?

  • apparently Brian is not the only Beach Boy with mental problems...

  • what a prick. i like how he rags on people within the group pursuing lawsuits against other members, when he is the epitome of the same. the rambling is just a bonus. lol

  • lol EVERYBODY hates Mike Love. Good.

  • Mike must burn in hell

along with all those fucking people clapping

  • Mike has always been a douchebag. I talked with him at a hotel bar after a beach Boys perfomance in the early 80's. A couple of nice Swedish girls who I knew came up to him and told him that they thought the Beach Boys were great. He was nice to their faces but when they left he turned to me and said "Swedish girls have such fat asses". These girls did not have fat asses, they were normal looking and very sweet girls. He is a total dick.

  • Hahaha Elton John for the win! Beach Boys (minus that turd Love) rock

  • mike love - the cousin from hell

  • They all quit listening after the first 15 minutes---:)

  • I think we all know who influenced Charlie Sheen now. The only thing missing here is Mike Love declaring that he has dragon blood in his veins.

  • @pajmf Explain.

  • Is he on something?

  • @hippojuice23 I've read this several places so I take it to be true but the real story wasn't drugs/drink.......Everyone knows Mike Love has been into transcendental meditation for years, well he had been fasting for well over a day if not day(s) (for reasons related to his TM beliefs) before doing this speech (real smart!).....but anyone who has ever fasted or attempted to do so knows the effect it can have on your judgement. Not making an excuse for this ass at all just explaining it.

  • nice to find this video, hadn't seen it in a long time. Mike definitely made some liquor store's night very profitable back then.

  • just shut up about the damn harmonies!

  • I just witnessed enough hot air to film a balloon go around the earth a number of times. This guy is definitely the Duke of Douche!

  • The most minor person who could conceivably be called a rock star. Unfortunately not the most minor ego.

  • Mike Love is an idiot..The people he ripped have more talent in there in little finger than Love does...

  • What a dumbass... Name dropping McCartney, Jagger, Joel and the Boss as if he is anywhere remotely in the same league as any of them artistically or musically.

  • I have shaken hands with Mike Love, gotten his autograph, etc. I try to be fair-minded. Constructively, all I can say is that he would be better served to have any public comments written by a public relations pro, so that he imparts a coherent, articulate, diplomatic message. Frankly, I did not even "get" what the USA having 6% of the world's population has to do with Muhammad Ali. He did not need to insult Mick Jagger or Paul McCartney. A rambling, somewhat abrasive speech.

  • @cattymanly I don't really know what his point here was, but I love him, unlike the other one's you know. How did you get to shake hands with him? have you met the other beach boys too?

  • @M3town33 I saw the Beach Boys at Duke University, Durham, NC, spring of 1971. I ran up to the stage ropes, outdoor performance, after they ended their show. Another group came up 1/2 hour later. I briefly chatted & shook hands with both Alan Jardine and Carl Wilson. In 1973, I met Mike Love at the Transcendental Meditation Center of Washington, DC. He signed an autograph, posed for a photo with me and we shook hands. Gaithersburg, MD show in 2000, wife and I shook hands with Mike Love.

  • @cattymanly Sounds great! How can I ever be able to meet them? I'm a musician myself and a big fan.

  • @M3town33 One needs to be aggressive and alert to meet rockers. Check their web site. My wife and I saw them outdoors at Montgomery County Fairgrounds in 2000, Gaithersburg, MD for $20 a head. We simply moved in on the van taking the band, Mike and Bruce away on the grassy field, it got "caught in traffic" with people milling about. We just reached in a side window and basically we just touched fingers with Mike. Bruce was on the other side of the bus, signing T-shirts, etc.

  • @M3town33 You don't know what the point here was?

Can't ya see you are the same kind of shitty person Mike Love is

  • @jammmon WHATHEHELL! I take that as a compliment because Mike Love is a wonderful person!!!1 fuck that comment. what the hell are yor fucking brain into this shit of hell is leading nowhere freaking fucking moron asshole darning daring comment shit from helll!!!!!!!

  • Elton is funny lol

  • That was pretty dull

  • Like Mike or not, at least he has the balls to speak his mind and not worry about "offending" people.

  • @mysteric70 Mike is a drunk piece of shit just like you

  • Looking back with Love... can be a distinctly long-winded and cringeworthy experience.

  • "The United States is 6% of the population [of the] world. That's why I came here tonight with Muhammed Ali."

Muhammed Ali is thinking, "Whew! Good thing the U.S. doesn't make up 5 or 7 percent of the world's population. Otherwise, I'd be home tonight!"

  • Mike Love calls out Paul McCartney. At least Paul McCartney still makes relevant music to this day and continues to sell out arenas and stadiums. What a friggin' douche Mike Love is!

  • 1st class turd herder

  • If creating Avant-garde music is what makes an artist good, Yoko Ono will forever remain the greatest musician of all time... I rest my case.

  • Mike Love Must Burn In Hell

  • Pet Sounds contains a few great tunes. Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder), God Only Knows, Caroline, No... But if I had to choose a favorite Beach Boy song, it would most likely be You're So Good To Me.

  • @TinyMontgomery204 A few? stupid cunt

  • @jammmon Once again you prove your intelligence to us. Back up your opinion. Why are the other songs good? Because Rolling Stone Magazine told you? I respect opinions, as should you, but you're just a fucking idiot, plain and simple. Sometimes I sit and think why I even bother with brain lacking internet morons...

  • @TinyMontgomery204

LOL.. go suck Mike Love's balls as long as you like

  • @jammmon I pray for your sake that that was not an attempt at being funny.

  • 1:11

    man.. what the fuck

anybody please jump over the stage and punch this cunt

  • @ChetR

    fucking idiot

  • "paul mccartney... who couldnt be here tonight because he's in a lawsue with ringo"

WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH YOU OR THE BEACH BOYS

    WHAT A FUCKING MORON!

  • we love.... harmony?

    FUCKING IDIOT

  • god, what an idiot

  • Bob Lemke wants to suck your cock now!Call me at 715-445-2709 and I will swallow your nuts!

  • Without Brian Wilson, Mike Love would still be pumping gas. Oh, wait. They have self-service pumps now, so he'd be in a Valvoline store yelling "Oil pressure bay TWO!"

  • what a pompass ass

  • I'd be more entertained by listening to Brian Wilson recite the phone book than hearing this guy speak.

  • badtown88: I'd be more entertained to Brian Wilson reciting the phone book than listen to this jerk.

  • @ChetR

    Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba Ba-Ba Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba

  • Saddest thing is some are CLAPPING. Hey, Mike Love, play a song for me, I'm not sleepy and there's no place you're goin' to but hell...

  • @blindwilliehighlight

    Mike must burn in hell

along with all those fucking people clapping

  • Haha, his mop tops comment is great too. The Beatles are the highest selling group of all time - I'd like to see the Beach Boys top that. The Beatles had 5 songs in the U.S. Top 5 in 1964 - I'd like to see the Beach Boys top that.

  • @TinyMontgomery204

Yeah they're the greatest band ever... I agree.. but talkin about Greatest Album? let me, paul mccartney mccartney and george martin put it this way: PET SOUNDS

  • @jammmon I couldn't disagree any more. Pet Sounds is one of the most overrated albums of all time. Jesus, I'd take Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!) or Sunflower over Pet Sounds any day. There are only a few tracks on Pet Sounds that I listen to. Critics and buyers should really rate music on its sound, not its inspiration or originality. This is not a biased comment by me, I also consider Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band an overrated disc.

  • @TinyMontgomery204 you surely dont care/know shit about music :P

  • @jammmon Was I supposed to take offense to that comment? Look, I brought up an intelligent argument as to why I believe mainstream music is overrated, and all you can come up with is that I "don't know shit about music"? Have you even listen the Sunflower or Summer Days LPs? Until that day comes, you have no right to judge or compare the albums, let alone accuse me of not knowing anything. I may "not know shit", but I have my opinions that I don't take from other people's lists/record reviews.

  • @TinyMontgomery204 Man...

Yeah summer days and sunflower and holland and beach boys today

I like them all....... but if you ask me whats the album I enjoy listenin to from the first to the last song.. thatd be..... Pet Sounds and Magical Mystery Tour :)

  • @TinyMontgomery204 I sometimes think Amusement Parks USA was the most adventurous track they recorded at that time. These two are great albums - you can listen to them both when you are over 40, but not Pet Sounds, although there are 4 classics on that one.

  • @mullwharchar 4 classincs on Pet Sounds? The whole album is... You should know, but you dont, and I dont care, really... you aint bringin it down.. its not overrated.. your mind is.

But yeah.. Amusement Parks is very adventurous...I love it... And thank god Mike doesnt sing on it.

  • @TinyMontgomery204 Yeah but the Beatles most adventurous music is still nowhere near SMiLE, the most avant-garde ahead-of-it's-time structurally advanced complex and beautiful pop album of all time. Brian's influence peaked in 2007 when PandaBear released his epic masterpiece Person Pitch which every critic writing conceded a masterpiece,( Rolling Stone called it the most influential album of the decade/NYTIMES the best of 2007) and which lays bare the debt to Brian from it's first note

  • Mick Jagger is too "chicken shit" to get up on stage with the Beach Boys? Brian Wilson was too "chicken to shit" to get up on stage with the Beach Boys.

  • @TinyMontgomery204 Mick Jagger is a white trash hedonistic turd that eats meat(roadkill) and does not meditate. Brian Wilson is a member of the Bohemian Grove.

  • @TinyMontgomery204 He did get up on stage in 1978 when I saw them. Mike was an ass to say the things he did, though. Paul said he had a hard time deciding whether to go or not. I think he should have gone, but that was his decision at the time and I have to respect him for it. He probably regrets it now.

  • @njriley55 I was lucky enough to see Brian Wilson and his band last month and it was an amazing show. Gave Paul a run for his money, who I saw a year ago. Brian was basically a stage prop - barely played his piano, and it looked like he was being manipulated by strings. But when you've accomplished as much as he has, you don't need to do anything. Mike on the other hand, has accomplished NOTHING.

  • @TinyMontgomery204 He made the effort to sue Brian for not giving him songwriting royalties for single lines, such as the "good night, my baby, sleep tight, my baby" outro on 'Wouldn't it Be Nice'.

  • what the fuck is he talking about? no amount of psychobabble changes the fact that this man is a parasite.

  • @ChetR Very wrong, Mike was more to the Beach Boys then Brian in my opinion.

  • @mbhey101 yeah...and Ringo was more to the Beatles than Lennon.

  • @mbhey101

Your opinion is shit since you dont know shit about the Brian Wilson and his beach boys Band. I mean.. beach boys..

  • @mbhey101 Mike was more evil to the Beach Boys than the satan himself

  • so does this make mike love tupac and mick jagger biggie smalls?
