With people commenting on his voice, you have to remember, he did a show the night before this in Brooklyn. He may even did a show the night before that, im not sure on that though. Combined with the fact he wasnt feeling well. Still though I dont think it sounds bad at all

A lot of it has to do with that WTLI (Which is what I'm assuming you are basing this comment on) is a completely mixed/remastered/studio edited show, whereas this show is completely live soundwise. That being said, his voice is sounding a bit subpar, but I'm sure he'll bring it back around. It's been a while since he's been on the road. He sounded great on all the shows I've seen him play.

What I love about John is that he is as organic as you can get. Real ! ! ! No auto tune. He's not a machine he's a real person and real people are not perfect everytime. i think he was sick last night. i'm a huge john fan and i'm really hoping that was the problem. last night's show (and battle studies as a whole) are disappointing...at best. for some reason he seems to be moving further away from what made us love him in the first place. even he has said that he's a guitarist first and a musician second, but that just doesn't seem to be the case with the new cuts. thank god he redeemed himself (as always) with gravity at the end of the set
