I love Britney, and I am not saying that this is what she actually did, but I wouldn't put it past her. This is a common trick in the music industry.

To sing in all the shows you have to got a voice that is the same level when you're talking. Britney doesn't have that so she sing some times. Look what happen to adele, she does high notes in every show, now she's sick and cant' sing for months. So many artist do lip-sync or playback, I´ve never seen Lady GaGa doing it for example. In a live shows performances its very hard to keep voice clearly like an album so is acceptable, in fact the voices of the artist are different, in so many ways they cannot compare each other. Britney have a beautiful voice and maybe a little week but is HER, Britney Spears, YES she do playback sometimes so if you don´t like..... don´t listen to her. She's singing over pre-recorded tracks, but she is singing. You can hear in places that she is off-key. As far as her speaking voice being loud and clear, she's just not the strongest singer. I agree with xAllie, you can't always sing while moving around. She may not be dancing much, but she is running around the stage. Add those loud backing tracks and that can make her singing voice sound even weaker. I used to be a Britney hater, but I've changed my opinion with her latest album. It's fun.
