M1530 with 8400gs is not for gaming,8600gt model is ok but not for new games. Both of them have material failrue during production and have a lot of burned chips.Dell make new bios with another cooling settings to help colling the chip and avoid overheaiting. In 2008 8600gt was a good chip but dont thing so for 8400gs.
Just like me i, i asked and he said yes it can play and make all thoes thing on a normal computer and he said yes it chould and i buyed it and installed it and than i tryed some games no it FUCK CANT !!!!!!!! and i did go to the shop and wanted me money back and said "no you cant you open the box with the computer" !!!! me - "Screw you" So dont trust does poeple they suck big time .. And i wanna get it upgraded so im gonna.. :P
well, what were the specs, and also, its kinda hard, if not almost impossible, to upgrade a laptop because of its small size. with a desktop it easier because of all its empty space, but on a laptop everything is crammed in there O_o
I never shopped there in my life, nor do I plan too. I actually build and repair computers so I know what i'm talking about. The graphics card fries up if you over work it (even afyter an hours play), the screen res is also not up to high end game play standard.
I have a fully tricked out m1330 and even then I wouldn't use it for games. The 1525/alienware/hp-dv7 on the other hand I would use for games.
again you're missing the point, have you ever played the old command and conquer games? if you have then you know fully well that pretty much any computer will be able to handle it
So it can handle C&C and that makes it a gaming machine? If it's not designed to handle fourth generation games to an ideal spec you can't call it a "gaming machine". There you go you have my opinion, I think you'll fnd most sane people agree with me.
@Supish16 There are new command and conquer games that require a better video card and proccessor than old ones like tiberian sun. I dont think the best buy employee was a dumbass.
or do you mean the Geforce 8600m gt..that is only in the m1530 and the 8400 is only in the m1330...looking at other ppl's vids about the 8600m gt i guess it is decent in playing modern games
Laptops in general are not for gaming. I have an M1530, and I play games on it, and it's fairly decent. But it's no gaming PC, I built my friend a desktop for about half the price as my lappy, and it runs circles around it in the gaming department.
no, you are wrong. xps USED to be geared for gaming. the xps you were looking for (the 13 inch one) is definitely no gaming laptop. it is geared towards everyday internet/business work and efficient battery use.
personally. i dont have any idea what ur saying but seriously...who the f**k cares what you buy? they're getting the money. he's paying his bills. life's good. why does he care what ur using it for? just find it an go!
lol theres a big difference between the xps m1530 and an m1730, yes the 1530 can be used for light gaming whereas the 1730 can be used for higher gaming.
Well, gaming on a laptop is bottom line stupid. Laptops heat up fast and start lagging.
Even when XPS is considered Dell's "gaming and performance" laptops, they really cant hold up to it. I'm not saying that you can't run games. You could, but you wouldn't get the same quality a desktop gives you.
He is right. Gaming on a laptop is fucking retarded. Please remove this video and die in a fire.

used to work for a really small repair shop...4 of us including the owner but we all had many years of experience in electronics.
I feel the small shops give the best service, and if something does goes wrong the customer can always take his problem directly to the owner.

XPS m1330 is NOT made for hi-end gamers. Mr.Best Buy got it right as much as it pains me to say.
Note; there is a difference between being able to play games and it being made spefically for games.

COMMAND AND CONQUER!!!
Supish16 3 years ago
only dumb people think that XPS's 8400 graphics card is good for gaming. 8400 is just a low end card.
XPS used to be Dell's Gaming laptop. But not any more. Dell bought Alienware and it is targeted as Gaming machines.
