Thanks for this! I was looking for a satin vs glossy cover video and this hit the spot. Getting a MBP 13" soon and will have to get a cover, so you helped loads. Would it have been better if you had a 15" sleeve for the 13"? Or is it just the general matte making it hard to slide?

I'm using the red Satin for my MacBook Pro 15" and its great. Only problem is I can't use the bottom cover because the little tabs push in and lift my Moshi PalmGuard which I won't remove because its absolutely kick-ass! The top protector works great though and shows the Apple logo pretty well. It does add a bit of weight to the Macbook but you get used to it pretty quickly.

hey great video, my brother got the speck see thru satin and idk his take on it but i love how it feels on the macbook but it did add a lot of weight and i would prefer naked macbook even though its not mine i think it looks much better just as it is

@jaggedspikerespawn Not mine. Not unless I kill the wifi, kill blue tooth, lower the display to halfway, put the hard drive to sleep whenever possible, and dim screen after 15 min of activity. I dont know how the hell you are getting 7-10. Wifi will even kill my iPod in about 5 hours, if on all the time and not in airplane mode. The case he is advertising is awesome though :) I got it this week

@jaggedspikerespawn 2009 model. 17" and according to diagnostics there's no reason to replace it at this juncture. Plus when I option click, it confirms its normal. I don't do high end gaming or spin DVDs. This is just internet browsing and the occassional youtube. On a full charge, I can probably get anywhere from 3- 3/12 hours. Maybe 4. Its hard to say because I am not staring at the screen for 4 hours. Maybe I need to recalibrate the battery. GAH!

bullshit !! the satin gets scratched, it got scratched with me the next day i bought it !! but hey speck is amazing they sent me a new one !!

and there is no way u can get 5 hours out of your macbook, it is not thea built in battery one.

with yours ypu can get maximum 4 hours and half if you do not open big application, which is not possible if u r gonna use it, which leads to 3 HOURS MAX MAN !!

Oh my gosh, you WAY over analyzed this. There is no reason this should be a 20min video. I love my speck, and cutting that thin film with a knife was dumb. Of coarse it will scratch. Run that knife over the satan case and it will scratch to. There was no problem with that incase case and cover. In a perfect world it would get out of the case itself... What do u want,,, really.

When I bought my macbook aluminum, some n00b b4 me put a "white" macbook incase sleeve on the "unibody" pile. the sleeve was always a little loose, but with the speck case on, the incase sleeve is perfect.

i figured out that if dirt finds its way between the case and the computer over time (if the case isnt removed and computer + case isnt wiped down once a week or month) dirt gets pushed back and forth somehow acting like sandpaper

dude, the newer one has a sd card slot , longer battery,and firewire. thats it as far as i know

the difference is that the macbook pro (13 inch) is faster, and it now has a SD card slot, and also, you can use the trackpad for foreign symbols.(chinese, japanese korean etc). The macbook pro also has a 7 hour battery.
