What's going on here. The Camaro is awesome! Love the choice of color too, but the door decal is aweful. It doesn't even say PACE CAR on the door decal! I don't believe it! Unfortunately, the Camaro convertible model (which would have been better for a pace car) isn't available until 2011.
Just some FYI the Camaro is not an American car, it is 100% made in Canada, so that would make it a Canada car. Just some more FYI; more of Honda’s (90%+) are made in America then any GM car (60%+or-). Look at the window sticker and in the drivers door jam and see where it’s made.

3 of my domestic vehicles: a '62 Chevy Impala SS, a '95 Olds Cutlass and a '01 GMC truck (all GM) were built in the USA. 60% is still the majority no matter how you spin it. Now if you want to talk about odd percentages, take a look at the amount of American-made military equipment Canada "has".

The late great Tony Hulman said there will never be a foreign car used as a pace car for this race. As long as his family owns the track it will stay that way. On the IRL circut they use those cars as pace vehicles, just not at Indy.
And for the record Cheverolet Corvette ZO6, Blue Devil, and yes even the Z28 SS, will kill all of those cars on a price vs performance price comparison, just as they do in every Road and Track magizine they are in. Besides that why dont you compare vehicles that are in the same class.

If GM is going to keep buying the pacecar and not put a motor in the series, ok.. I'm glad they chose a Camero again, 10 straight years of the Vette was getting old.
