@strengthofstrings thats because gene is far more personal. His music reflects real emotion and gets under one's skin and has real soul. As great and as much fun as the Beatles were they were never this personal.

Interesting to hear this stripped-down version but I actually prefer it with Chip Douglas' overdubs. I think the bass part in particular adds to the song.
