@fligemon I... Actually spent a very long time researching this, and apparently according to Albert Bouchard, the "Diz" is the cleft of a penis, and the "Buster" relates to the "Dusters-Dust", which is an allegory for semen, so basically the "Diz-Buster" is something that causes that....

Or they just were so bad ass they ran out of real stuff to rock about...

One of my favorite songs of all time. And one of my favorite bands. My father introduced me to the brilliance that is BOC when I was a little kid and been a fan since. Not only is the immagination and immagry in there songs and albums brilliant. But incredibly inspiring. Oh, and don't listen to this song on the highway. Great way to get a ticket for going twenty over.

Just a great tune....perfect for my "high"school daze in the '70s. I really loved the way one song leads to another on the original vinyl. I remember the anticipation at the end of this song to get to the second side (the black) to hear "Baby Ice Dog".

But the bass in it rumbles like a juggernaut.Its the one where he mentions he sells his soul for a record contract, hangs in the old age home with elton john and jeff Beck and then 80 years later the devil comes to collect.

Hell yeah, to BOC me are one of the finest American hardrock/metal bands of the '70's. I mean sure Sabbath started the whole heavy metal genre but BOC made heavy music which to me was more thoughtful and inspiring than BS and not only that their album covers are much better than any the more popular and successful Black Sabbbath ever had. The lyrics to BOC's material is far more interesting than just about any other rock band of their time, particulalry Sandy Pearlman's lyrics.

Yes those are good, but the album covers for BOC's fist three albums, Agents of Fortune, Spectres, Some Enchanted Evening, Fire of Unknown Origin, and Extraterrestrial Live are pretty damn cool. Don't get me wrong Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is a great album cover but its just is too blatant with the Satanic imagery with the 666 above the bed and everything, it is a bit unimaginative whereas BOC were a bit more clever with the use of any sort of symbolism.

Thanks Lib62! Did any other band ever incorporate such varied & intelligent themes, not only in their Music, but the Artwork & Symbology employed on their Album Covers, Posters & Backstage Passes? Although labelled the "Thinking Man's Heavy Metal Band", BOC never got critical acclaim or respect from the trend obsessed pseudo-journalists that maintained squatter's rights at "Rolling Stone" & "Spin" Magazine in the 70's-80's. The same "Greenwich Village Yodas" who vote today on the R&R Hall/Fame.

@SPAZZOBOXER That's nonsense, BöC got PLENTY of critical love in the 70s - even from Rolling Stone, hardly a hotbed of heavy metal fandom! They were a "critic's band", after all. (And Spin magazine didn't even exist until the mid-80s, by which time the Cult had begun to suck anyways.)
