  • What i want to know is how did they start drilling in the first place o.O

  • the question is how did they start the whole???

  • NOT funny!!

  • Haha! and i thought ice was thick in Bangor, Maine

  • I Live in Nunavut and thats the longest fuckin augur i've seen!!! hahah i'm pretty sure there's thicker ice in other countries, we just don't pay attention to them. i don't wanna mention where, but there is thicker ice then here. (greenland)

  • That's my dad

  • Wow!!! And I thought 3 feet sucked!! Then again I have a hand augur!! Lol

  • damn, good thing it is not a hand auger

  • lol, thought i was watching black on white for a sec

  • Must be hard to get the fish up the hole? Can't reach down and grab it if it gets stuck on the edge of the ice! Lmao

  • for you people's that think it's fake ... it's real, the drill can assemble, almost anything can assemble, first they start out small, then a medium, than the last one, i live in nunavut

  • how long does it take 'em to scoop out the hole lol

  • WHAT IS THAT A 10" 30 footer

  • haha holy shit

  • I wonder how did they start drilling?

  • how long is the ice fishing season? when does it freeze and thaw usually? this is awesome!

  • That's sick!

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • so did you guys catch anything

  • What would be the closest town to this?

  • @musicluva13579 Nunavut Territory is huge man..the capital is Iqaluit on Baffin Island. The closest major city would be Whitehorse in the North West Territories.

  • @canmoore

    Isn't it Yellowknife?

  • @clancy6969 You sir are correct!

  • Comment removed

  • @PrentomTwo

Yes but it's real footage. Do some research, please?

  • @RuneFinity44 idiot. canaduh sucks anyways!!!!

  • @PrentomTwo

haha well whatever you say, "idiot"

  • 10.8 feet holy cow, wonder how long it took to go all the way through

  • Oh my fuck I'm glad I live in Ontario

  • wow and I thought three feet in northern MN was bad. Lets see them try it with a hand auger next XD

  • jiggybitch. seriously. 4 ft difference. big deal!!!

  • It's cold in Canada

  • So how did they START drilling? xd

  • @TVAExtreme i was thinking the same thing

  • First I saw you guys drilling and I wasn't really entertained, then you started bringing it out and I started to piss myself laughing so hard! XD nice...

  • All this despite climate change. Hope whatever they caught can get through the hole.

  • every they pull that machine my eyes getting..bigger....that is too long...

  • That better be some kick ass fishing.

  • LOL nice but im good with 10 INCHES thanks you!

  • wow that is crazy

  • Fake!

  • lol retard 10 feet isnt even that much for up their, some places its well over 14....my grandfather used to fly hucles' outa yellow knife. you need 12 feet of solid see ice to land on

  • @jiggyboy69 Assholes like you always have to ruin a good video with your stupid comments ...and calling others retards when you spell like a 5 year old makes you the retard.

  • forget the thick ice,

thats ONE FRIKKEN LONG DRILL xD

  • you put the extensions on as you go noobs ;p

  • My question is...How did they get it into the ice?? xD

  • If you fall through that Ice its your own damn fault! hahahaha

  • life in Nunavut...gotta luv it!

  • lol how did you start driling the hole?

with a shorter thing or what

  • Holy Sh*t thats a thick ice :D

  • that's a huge drill

  • Thats how we do it up north, (this is actually what it takes)!

  • Genial :)

  • for all those smarts asses understood that was fake : How do you think oil is drilled ?

  • Not with an ice auger you dumbass!

  • use your head..

  • augers come with extensions duh so they drill like 3 feet and then add an extension then another 3 feet and another extension

  • its not fake u dum shits. just start with a shorter borer then move on to the long one

  • How is it funny?

  • Because of the 11 foot drill required to get through the ice.

  • In German we call it...

    'Heilige Scheiße!!!'

  • ok first i was like ok this is normal, pulls it out ok itll be normal size, maybe medium, holy shit maybe large, HOLY SHIT!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • damn, i would just use the post hole digger that we have that attaches to the tractor lol. how did they drill it? doesn't looke like they could reach the top unless they drilled with a smaller 1 first

  • omfg thats funny haha nice work :P

  • kret 930 are you fackin also ???

  • oooo fack

  • stupid shit

  • smart shit

  • LOL Hilarious

  • holy fuck and i thought 5 feet was lots of ice

  • lol..that is kinda funny

  • Nice

  • HAHAHAHAHAH

  • i was in norther yukon and the ice was 10 feet deep we spent 20 mintetes of drilling and adding sections just to find out we were in 3 feet of water under the ice it sucked

  • @kyleoldach Hahaha man that sucks.

  • think i can drive my truck out if it safly ?? hahahh jk we drive our trucks on 12 inches i think 12 feet is enough!!

  • They do that to check the ice road safety too. Saw it on the idiot box "Ice Road Truckers". Not a bad show at all.

  • damm 16ft for just 8 inches hahahahaha

  • thats a hogger and a half lol!

  • wow haha wonder how much that thing would cost xD

  • Holy-moly im fishing 20cm ice below my feet.

  • hahah see here !

how to fish without a hook !

    /watch?v=zaqBChmYz6g

  • Holy crap!!

  • lmao.....i never had too drill that deep juss too ice fish hahahahaha.......

  • LOl hahaha

  • In infisherman they drilled standing on top of trucks.

  • i fished in nunavut with the rangers, they didn't have augers they fished at points where the ice cracked naturall and chiseled out the rest with a knife blade on a pole.

    huge lake trout.

  • They do this the same way we drill wells. Start with one section of augur blade, and when it gets in too deep, connect another blade section. You could probably drill 30 feet of ice with your bare hands if you had enough extensions.

  • There ain't no step ladder or extentions visible. what they did is one guy stepped on the other guys shoulder and and...the other guy drilled. its called separating the white boys from the INUIT MEN.

  • That auger sepperates the men from the boy's. hahaha

  • Wow! Do you have to start the hole with a stepladder. It's times like this that a stick of dynamite might be a better option. But I will say that what you are looking at here, is pure dedication to one fun sport!

  • they have extensions

  • Oh HELL NO! It would take an hour to put in A tip-up. Imagine trying to keep up with a school of perch. lol

  • how in the hell would u start that thing its either fake or it must brake down smaller

  • lol neither

  • that auger better break into pieces otherwise u'd have to be really tall to start it!

  • Jesus fuckin christ. Imagine the fun the fish is having on the way up. haha

  • Best technique-Once you start jigging try different jigging rhythms until one works. Start with a 1-2 foot lift and fall rhythm. Then let the lure settle and remain still for about 20 seconds in between the lift/fall rhythm. Vary the speed and the length of the 'jig' rhythm to try to find one that works. Sometimes when nothing seems to work try 'thrumming'. This is the process of rapidly 'wiggling' the rod tip so that the lure quickly jigs up and down within a 1-3 inch vertical movement.

  • God DAMN! That is a mother of an Auger!

  • holy crap how they even get started with the long drill

  • We don't start drilling of a truck, we use ski-doos! puhhhhhh!

  • Omfg, lmfao!

  • At first I was thinking "huh- motorised auger: lazy". Then I was more "oh, right, I see"!

  • imagine doing that with a 8" hand auger, or a spud. im breakin a sweat just thing about it

  • dude thats halerious how wold you get up there to start up that auger !!!

  • dude how you get up there and start it?

  • Holy Guacamole, that thing is big.

  • That long auger blade is made up of 3 or 4 shorter extensions bolted together. You start with a standard length blade...auger down to the surface of the ice, add an extension auger some more and keep adding extensions till you break through the ice.

  • Ive done that before... you start drilling off the top of a truck.

  • 1 thing... theres prob a logical explanation but, how do they start the auger if its in the air...

  • looooool good video

  • lol, that is in the 'record book' now here on utube. hahaha. nice 1.

  • so how they get it started

  • there are 3 or 4 individual extensions on that blade - you start with a normal length of blade and add extensions as needed

  • she meant how do you start drilling the holes.

  • you better hope that fish isnt bigger than the hole lol which is common come to nunatsiavut thats where the big fish are

  • hahahaha u can find the real eskimos playing footbal at edmonton if u know what i mean

  • Hahahahahaha

U can find the real eskimos playing football down at edmonton

iif u know what i mean!!

  • I am an"eskimo"mf lol it takes just as long ta melt or freeze that thick, had afew bow hunters thought they were real nice frm southern us,froze there hands though poor buggers they had their glove off of the hands for about ten minute fingers turned black so remember it is friggen COLD up here way down where is -18cel thats spring up here try minus -58cel and when your drivin snowmobile at 60plus mph the wind chill gets up there old jack frost slaps ya good and hard so ya won't even feel frost

  • They add on Extensions to the drill bit as they go LOL, and you can see real eskimos anywhere up north and alot of them go to edmonton and yellowknife and Iqaluit. LOL

  • n winnipeg :D

  • How the hell did they START drilling with a drill bit that long????

  • Wow..

Does anyone know where can I see real Eskimos?

  • yeah come to nunatsiavut newfoundlands new inuit territory

  • i mean thick.

  • holy shit that ice is deep!!!

  • lol how u start that shit?

  • WTF indeed!! :D:D

  • rofl.

  • holy crap i fish in ten feet of water!!!

  • its a province in canada, yeah ah how do u start oh yeah they have smaller drill bitts at first duh ah lol

  • did you fail geography with jingebrigtsen? its not a province. its a territory.

  • lol

  • hahah you add auger on as you go.....thought that was common knowledge?!?! :S

  • WTF?! dam that shit is tALL! how can u start it?!?!?!?

  • how the heck would they even be able to start drilling? the power switch is at the top of an 18 foot drill?! yeah right!

  • holy crap...

  • holy shites!?!?!?

  • Lol they are like "almost got it." and your like "psh whatever this is like 3 feet thick right?" and then your like "holy mokey fetus! how thick is that shit?"

  • how the fuck they turned on that shit?

  • do you use a lader to get to the top of the auger

  • yeah we only get about 18 in of ice to 2 ft in mi, but 10 ft, so much work, i might say why bother

  • North of Norway lies Svalbard, between 76,5 and 81 degrees north. On some of the lakes there the ice can be well over 10 feet thick, and on some lakes the ice some years don't melt at all. The only species you will find there is Arctic Char (Salvelinus Alpinus). But even on the mainland in Norway I have fished on mountain lakes with 7 feet of ice. I guess it is hard to belive from people that lives in another climate, but nevertheless it is an undisputable fact, belive it or not.

  • HAHAHA 10.8 FEET OF ICE , YOUR FISHING LINE IS ALL OVER WHEN YOU FISH THERE xD

  • silly citiots!

  • man a lot of u guys are dicks i mean yeah some of the ppl commenting hear are citiots ( city idiots) but hey they have never been ice fishing what can u exspect?

  • I live in a city and i've been ice fishing >:(

  • damm thats allot of ice where live were lucky to get 8 inches

  • lol 10 ft

  • i love the guys that comment with out reading the other comments first.then relise 'yeah im a retard' when they put out that this is fake then see how easy it is.thses comments are the same for months

  • Hey Canadian Teen

    R u really from Canada

What u think is just nomad!!!

How do they drill holes for oil???

    Just think about it.

  • I fucking agree this is bullshit lol. they cant beggin when the starter is way up in there air over like 15 feet lol

  • Really, it's not that complex. You drill a hole with a standard length auger, and then you remove it and add an extension, drill more, remove it, add another extension. Much like one would drill for oil, or a water well. I hope this helps.

  • how did they do at begining???

  • they must of kept adding extentions.

  • L.O.L is the ice really that solid?

  • Hey numbnuts...ice is always solid...when its not...its called water.

  • Lmao. That's really funny. But kind of mean, but also really funny... lol

  • If white man can land on the moon (40 plus years ago)

Why cant INUIT Improvise by simply drilling a hole

Like for example shut up with the dumb ass stereotypes of "eskimos"

Maybe he had another auger that is at least 5 feet long

then he used the extended one next

If u wish to argue and try and make a point of your rebuttle

    try me if u dare.

IF U THINK IM WRONG COME CHECK ME OUT AT 69 DEGREES NORTH AND at xob 1bo.

  • doesn't seem like bullshit at all, when they were drilling, it actually looked like the drill was hitting something at the bottom

  • wait wait wait wait wait...

how the hell would they hold it to start drilling in the first place? the auger must be sectioned. seems kind of risky hoisting a fish up that far

  • I've seen people start theere augers on top of cars but this is crazy

  • haha that water that deep were i ice fish

  • nervig wennses rausziehen!

  • i like trees

  • What bullshit. They're at the edge of a hill and the drifted snow has turned to slush with an ice covering, from being hammered by the sun.

These douche bags try to make you believe they've actually drilled through that much ice.Two foot of ice and a bunch of slush, thats it. They'd have a pile of fucking chips that would be 6 foot high if all that was solid ice.

  • Yes, there would be a big pile of ice shavings around the hole. Maybe these people are a bit more intelligent than you, and have figured out a way of preventing such a dilemma. Perhaps they simply kick the ice shavings away while they drill, just guessing. Here's a news flash, ice gets thicker the further north you progress. Most people understand this phenomenon. This video was shot over 1000 miles north of Minnesota, in beautiful Nunavut. Seen it 100 times, this is legitimate.

  • Hey SCUM BAG, I am from Nunavut, and Ill tell you one thing, up here is lot colder then where ever the hell you are. we will have 2 feet or more of ice by end of October every year, and increases alot every month till May. some places till June, and while we are drilling, we dont let the (drilled) ice stay around the auger, we kick it to the side or someone will shovel it away.

  • You are a complete moron. Time to explore beyond your little shell buddy.

  • We Dont let our sisters shovel like u airheads, plus Nunavut is not ten miles from minnesota.

  • Atta boy,,,,you give it to that Yankee

  • thats crazy my auger bit is 5 ft and i have a 1 ft ext and i thought that was long WHOLLEYMOLLY

  • CRAZY is this in alaska?

  • it says nunavut right on the title

  • WTF is Nunavut? A Country!? I failed geogroghy =D
