I much prefer Local Only to No Local, since you can play with friends over the net locally using hamachi, tunngle, etc. Where as you can't really play over the net through 1 internet connection very well at all.

If "local co-op" meant LAN then that would instantly mean online coop as well thanks to clever ways to create virtual LAN through the Internet (like Hamachi). The reason why it's called "local" instead of "split-screen" is that there are a lot of games where the screen doesn't need to be split to be playable on one computer, because all players can be controlled through 1 screen (fighting games, shumps, etc), but apart from that, it's still the same thing (ie you can't play over the Internet)

@dannes22 I don't think you understand... as of now, games are basically limited to the amount of content that can be in them. Not due to containment size.. but the more stuff you have in the game, the more hardware intensive it will be, until eventually no CPU could run it. You're expecting a project, that has never been attempted.. to be attempted. An open world, massive [you're asking along the lines of 2-3x the size of daggerfall].... it could sink a major company if it didn't sell well...

@Baleur No, it wasn't on 1 laptop. It's just the main programmer (lemmy) had the most recent source on his laptop, and the backups they had off-site were from the previous patch. So they had to roll back the patch and start over, a huge kick in the teeth for indie devs like them. But they're recovering.

The game itself for a customer point of view is pretty much unchanged, the next patch is just delayed. You should see lemmy103's videos showing his progress, they're sweet!
