Runway Incursions...as a student pilot I have read reports about this. The risk are high at major airports. When I fly as a passenger, seatbelt is on until we are at the gate.
@bulgug7 YOU'RE gay! Small planes are more efficient and sometimes needed. It doesn't make sense to have a huge Airbus or Boeing on a small route like Toronto-Washington or Chicago-St-Louis.
Also, tow crew ALWAYS rotates the aircraft, they will never leave it facing the terminal.
@bulgug7 And you're ignorant. Using 'gay' as a negative term is NOT acceptable under any circumstances. If you do it again they you're just a worthless troll.
Actually the French aren't to blame here. They are told where to taxi by ATC. Either ATC or whoever parked that small plane is to blame, most likely it's ATC's fault. By the way, ATC = Air traffic control.
@FISKram Wrong. I fly the 900 and park at that same spot in JFK. ATC controls the taxi ways. Ramp controls those alley ways the 900 was on. Either the ramp crew pushed um back to far or they taxied in not far enough. The roomer is Air France was not on centerline.
@Srirachaa ...the preferred spelling of "roomer" is r-u-m-o-r, if you mean the definition as the general circulation without confirmation. I am unfamiliar with the word r-o-o-m-e-r.
@captainmorgan757 Thanks for the correction captain. Lol. Yes, I meant rumor. The fact that you just corrected my spelling from my youtube comment I made, says a lot about you.
@KG84C It says you must be able to read, write, and understand the English language...Did they add spelling in there too? Shit, I might be in trouble.
You can bet that since this was a New York arrival, all those jerks in CRJ 700 had secretly released their seat belts "although the aircraft had not come to a complete stop at the gate" so that they could race for the door and be the "first one off!"
Before criticizing the "stupid frenchies" (that made that you're still a country, btw, you the big saviors of the world), get the real story. It is ABSOLUTELY not the AF pilot's fault. He was taxiing and the comet "stupid yankee" was parking and didn't signal to the control tower that he hadn't finish his maneuver yet. Conclusion : control tower AND comet pilot fault. So in the future shut up and think, even if I know it is difficult for your big american mouthes.
@raph604 No i talked to my dad about this, he is a pilot for delta. He said that the ComAir flight stopped short of where he was supposed to be so he had the end of his tail sticking out like a sore thumb.
Are you all even thinking? This can be blamed on either pilot, but its 99 percent the ATC, air traffic controller, problem. That person is the director, pilots listen the ATC to take off and land and ride around. Blame is on ATC for this one.
@smootsie007 Riddle me this. You must be a product of a public education with grammar and spelling such as yours. Now, that being said. Are you a pilot? Would you be able to converse intelligently on this topic or would you simply reply with only monosyllabic words of rant?
OMG, defo a speeding ticket for the A380 and the ground crew truck was not following airside procedures.... regardless fault lies with the A380 pilots.
Seat belts always recommended even when stationery while taxiing to stand. ;)
Airbus looks to be moving too fast AND a pilot should be aware at ALL times of what is going on around them...doesn't matter if the other plane was in wrong place...the Air France pilots should have been aware and responded, specifically stopped.
The CRJ clearly had the right of way, it had been turned for parking and was being marshaled into the gate by the ramp agent. This does say one thing about the engineering of both air craft though, there appears to be only minimal damage to both. And the Aribus was cleared for departure after only 4 hours of inspection.
I blame from what i saw on the video, the truck that passed in front of the Com Air jet. The smaller plane had to stop for it and that is why this accident happened.
Lol that's not an air traffic controllers fault...there are a hundred things that could have gone wrong but not one involving the ground controller. Odds are this was a marshaller or pilot error.

Ground control screwed the pooch. Beyond that, it looks like the AF pilot lost "situational awareness" in that he or she should have known the ComAir jet was under his foot-print.
how is he supposed to know ? controlers gave a380 the authorization to move to the next point before take off, so a380 pilot did what he was told to do, he moved. pretty sure that when you're flying a jumbo jet you you surely have better things to do than check if your wing is not going to touch anything on your way to the take off area, whats the point of having ground controler then.
You are wrong about that. My buddy flies big jumbo's and he is sitting right beside me. He says that that pilot was totally in the wrong. He was taxiing way too fast and it is his job to check clearances of the wing.
@welcometoGARYVILLE Yeah, probably the captain/FO didn't realize how close they were to the Delta aircraft or they looked another way when passing it. We will just have to wait and see wether they can figure out what happened or not.
@behinderteleberwurst We'll see. I mean would you want to fly on the largest, most advanced, super-jumbo passenger jet with a patch job on the wing? Probably not. And with such high engineering tolerances when being built, I'm sure they would settle for nothing less when repaired.
