I'm trying to fruck up the business of can flipping, therefore, you mine the good stuff for yourself and jettison only regular cans with junk in them, such as 1 unit of Veldspar in each can. As payback, you want rat flippers to open them to discover their shit. If enough people do this, can flippers can bet on flipping junk cans at some point. Fail-proof solution is never jettison to feed the rats, but profits take more time.
How does zooming in change your scanning at all (1:41 minute mark)? I have never heard that one. I also noticed you don't have a second central probe scaled down one size, I thought that was how all the pvp guys did it. I know in a WH we got faster results doing that, usually could skip one whole scan when scanning anomolies down.
Lol i always worked it would in my head when d-scaning targets at certain ranged, all the zeros would get confusing, im gunna use this, would speed d-scaning up quite a lot imo.
Because i would end up typing something like six zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero wait is that enouth, mabye if i had "00000" copied and i just typed "600 cnt v"
@smitony2 Just type 1800, zerozerozero, zerozerozero. I always break up typing large numbers by 3s with a pause in the middle, so I can count 'thousand, million, billion.'
Also, there's no need to use a pre-saved table of numbers; that takes forever. Just start at 1.2 billion KM and check by increments of 300 million; you can go narrower if you want. 300 million is almost exactly 2 AU.
300 - 2au
600 - 4au
900 - 6au
1200 - 8au
1500 - 10au
1800 - 12au
2100 - 14au
and in between, like 450 is 3au. Mental math. It's easy.
@sir3ntropy nah, presaved is faster and more accurate, you only need to double click the range to select in the notepad then CTRL + C copy and finally double click in the range box and CTRL + V paste
Your process sounds horribly slow and involved, with lots of back and forth with mouse and keyboard. I don't need to touch the mouse at all to get a range, and I'm still clicking fewer keys than you.
@sir3ntropy ER no... double click any single word or number basically anything with out a space in it, you will select the whole number, then press CTRL + C to copy, then double click the range field in the scanner to selected what ever number is already there, now press CTRL + V and the contents of your clipboard will replace what ever number you had in there.
I'd called knowing how to use a fucking computer omg...
@ReadyToMealSqueal You sound angry and distraught. You should maybe calm down. I'm glad you figured out you can select things by double clicking, and I'm happy for you, but it's still faster to just change the first couple digits and hit enter rather than switching back and forth between two windows and having to double-click very accurately on the number you want.
Plus, there is no need for seven digits of accuracy, that's absurd. You're only approximating for where you drop the probes anyway.
@sir3ntropy I'm not angry but i'm going to prove a point by uploading a fucking video showing you it takes like 1 - 2 seconds to do what I'm saying, yes you could click and delete the first digit but that way is shit...
@ReadyToMealSqueal No need to swear. Even if you DID click on the first digit, which you don't really need to, it's still faster than what you're describing.
You don't have to upload a video to show me what you're doing, it's been described perfectly adequately, and I'm not an idiot. I understand what you're doing, and I just think it's unnecessary. Not that it's bad, I just prefer the easy way that doesn't make you open up a whole 'nother window and copypasta a bunch of times every time.
@ReadyToMealSqueal Cumbersome it isn't. Left hand goes on backspace, right hand on numpad.
The biggest problem I have is I sometimes click the scan button too soon. I'm glad you figured out a way to do it, I just don't like having a big cumbersome text window open that can get messed up, or having to precisely doubleclick on numbers twice every time and then click on the scan button...
...when I can just use backspace, enter, and number pad with perfect results.
@sir3ntropy ugh.. How is that accurate? 1 AU = 149598000 2 AU = 299196000 3 AU = 448794000 4 AU = 598392000 5 AU = 747990000 6 AU = 897588000 7 AU = 1047186000 8 AU = 1196784000 9 AU = 1346382000 10 AU = 1495980000 11 AU = 1645578000 12 AU = 1795176000 13 AU = 1944774000 14 AU = 2094372000 Do wtf you want man..
@sir3ntropy I just done uploading for you watch?v=mTceWYBPGTk
See that? fast isn't it... No hard at all, the only thing I have to move is my left index finger between keys C and V while keeping my left pinky on the control and its just a case of clicking the mouse button...
I have lived in WH space for almost 2 years, and this is one of the first times I've seen a scanner that doesn't live in WH space that isn't completely retarded ;>
The guy in this video used this method against me. I was watching my ds regually and I didnt see any probes at all. Im now practicing this method myself and it is alot harder then it appears in the video, but I will master it. Good job on the excellent kill, fly safe or die trying ...

1.One of the worst example of using probes to scan down someone. Took you 4 minutes to scan that ship, not to mention that it was not moving at all.
2. Any decent player looks permanently for combat probes on the directional scan, so the moment you launched the probes and they appear on the target's directional scan he would warped away.
3.You should practice a lot more to be able to handle more efficiently those probes
@Olandezul1600 I think you misunderstand the point of this video. The probes are launced off scan from the target. When you move probes in space, they do not physically move to that new location untill the scan button is pressed. By arranging the probes around the target before the first scan, you have a much better chance of getting a 100% hit on your first attempt, meaning you can immediately retract them, thereby limiting the time the player has to detect them. And yes, it does take longer.

@sir3ntropy your way is cumbersome and slower because you have to move your left hand to press the backspace.
