  • Not an easy song to tune, man! EXCELLENT job, buddy! Gene Puerling was (is) theeee Vocal Jazz GURU! Singers Unlimited is one of the main reasons I got in to singing vocal jazz. Ya done the arrangements proud!!!

(Would LOVE to sing with you one of these days, months, years!) :-)

  • Personally, apologies to trudbol, I think the very plain performance really suits this song - it creates a kind of hypnotic state. Nice :)

  • killah tunes at the end!!!

  • Beautiful!! I LOVE vocal jazz!!!

  • Very good.

  • This was posted on my birthday! I like it's sound!

  • @Konnorshi I say that, but then I listened to the download and I'm like FFFFFUUUUU! because of the end part always being reminded and it makes me rage.

  • I can't say how much I love this.

  • its easy hearing those 3 extra voices

  • Brilliant Bjork song, thank you... i think you're brilliant.

I would love to hear you sing Madonna's Take a Bow - maybe it's on here somewhere :)

  • @Defn28 This song is by Jimmy Van Heusen and is 70 years old.

  • @HendrixcommaMartin

    Oops - don't i feel stupid :S

  • lol danny you sound like a really old woman with autotune

  • loved the credit stuff at the end man. hahahaha, keep up the awesome work!

  • I love it! way to go, Danny. This is not as easy as it might seem to some of you out there.....

  • awesome Danny

  • It think that is phenomenal!!! And awesomely tremendous. Great work.

  • VOICES THAT I CAN'T SEE?! WHAT IS THIS, AN ACID TRIP!? GAAAAH!

but no, seriously, dude, I could listen to you all day long...

  • Did you transcribe this by hand or buy the sheet music from somewhere? If the latter, where can I find this arrangement? And if the former... WOW!

  • Oh mylanta you are a pretty boy.

  • @fizzaith Hm, is this an insult or a compliment? lol

  • @daniscool99 Definitley a compliment. It helps that you have a positively gorgeous tenor range, and tenors are my favorites.

  • @daniscool99 insult. Sacrifice to the crops?

  • @daniscool99 And regarding fizzaith's comment, the "pretty boy", I'd say it's a compliment. Now, I'm 100% straight, but damn it, you ARE pretty!! justin beiber should be WISHING he was you. If you have a girlfriend, I can't even begin to imagine how lucky she feels. Your voice AND your personality just make me feel warm and fuzzy all over! You've GOTTA have a charisma score of at least 22 or something.

  • @Stonehawk haha thanks man :)

  • @Stonehawk are you sure you're straight

  • @Stonehawk Are you sure that you're '100% straight?'

  • @SerenSeven There are MANY male singers in the world and some are hetrosexual and some are homosexual. I have many happily married male friends in the arts. It has nothing to do with your profession.

Would you walk up to a lawyer and ask are you straight?

  • hahahaha i love that you added the autotune at the end. Great job as always, keep it up

  • Danny VS Anon know-it all: Auto-tune loses against Great Voice attack! Danny wins by KO!

  • Nice.. I'm the 100th liker of this vid. Continue to amaze people and have yourself a Merry Christmas.

  • you are among the top multitrackers. i´ve been a fan for so long and you never ceased to amaze me. i understand that those harmonies are so complex and beautiful that they become what you want to show, but the song feels a little syllabic, like one chord after the other. it is fantastic what you´ve achieved, but i´ll agree with trudbol, it doesn´t feel like you are telling a story. looking forward for your next videos. i love your work!

  • You've got a very gracefull voice. A very pure melody too. Overall, please continue to share this wonderfull gift.

  • Woah! What was that last chord? It sounds amazing!

  • Toujours cette voix impeccable, tellement nette.. Et puis, j'aime l'air que te donnent les lunettes =3

  • Melodies of Life ftw!

  • Nice piece, Dan. I like your soft & smooth jazzy style working for you, I hope you continue to develop it and write more arrangements of your own as well.

I can imagine singing such tough harmonies must a killer, but perhaps you could work on your interpretation more. To me, the song lacked a bit dynamics and warmth, at times it felt like a showcase of vocal range and ability to sing in tune (which you do!), but I didn't believe you enough.

PS: You don't answer my messages much... Tis' a pity.

  • @trudbol Hey Julien! Sorry, totally no offense.. I try to answer as many of these as I can but they often get lost when I post a new video. I understand what you're saying. Have you ever heard the Singers Unlimited? They're not exactly known for being extremely dynamic. It's really the incredible beauty of these arrangements that make the music so fantastic. I'm not trying to dodge your point, it's something I'll certainly consider for the future!

    Thanks!

  • Remember back when someone could be a good singer without people saying it as to be autotuned?

  • @CodedLockFilms Agreed.

I don't understand why people hate pitch correction and yet blame singers when they're not in pitch. What matters is that it sounds pleasant and natural, which it does here.

Singing multitrack harmonies a layer at a time is hard enough. I don't see why pitch correction is considered *more* of a cheat than sound equalizing (bass boosting, dynamic compression...) or enhancing contrast on a video...

None of all this is real, so why are some tricks worse than others?

  • That was beautiful! I recommend making tutorials for beginners like me.. because well seems like you've got it down pat. True Talent.

  • You would be a starter on my fantasy one man acapella team for sure.

  • I think I'm in love~

XD I love your voice, Danny. Keep 'em coming!!

  • Another winner, Danny. It always makes my day when I see one of your new videos posted. Another collaboration with your brother would be awesome. Your voices blend together so beautifully. Hope you have time to get to it.

  • good job man, good to hear some more A cappella stuff!! when it reached 0:57 i was in awee man, amazing harmonies! :) keep it up!

  • You are simply amazing! I hope one day I'll be able to do this! I need to work on my upper range! In choir I'm a tenor and in the mens group I'm a tenor II but I still have no where near the range you have! Maybe when I get older and train more! Thanks for being a great role model and sharing your talent!!

  • Great job Danny. I always enjoy your musical offerings and they just seem to get better and better.

I was impressed with the tuning! I just imagined trying to sing all those parts, tune it, and get the right notes! Some of the harmonies were off the chart! :-)

Good work, keep it up and keep them videos coming.

    Thanks.

  • What I'm most impressed by is what you can do with your voice. Autotune, no autotune; I'm not music savvy enough to tell the difference without someone telling me, (as such, this may be an exaggeration, but) you can go from base to soprano and everything in between without anything sounding forced. That takes a whole lot of skill!

  • you are one of my one man a cappella guys .. keep up the good job .. I love this song .. reminds me of chet baker's version .. Oh by the way your brother's got a nice base ... you should include him more :) ... your hit that jive jack is one of my favorites ever.. I listen to it everyday! ..

  • @momusmomus You're right! My bro sings a mean bass, I was hoping he could sing something with me while I'm back at home for Christmas!

  • you are one of my one man a cappella guys .. keep up the good job .. I love this song .. reminds me of chet baker's version ..

  • love the sound of A Cappella

  • this was beautiful. thank you for uploading. love all your work :)

  • BAHAHAA!! I loved that ending! :D funny lolz

  • Dear Danny,

screw the haters and don't waste your time trying to prove them wrong. Let them think what they want because despite the countless times you justify yourself, they're still gonna assume the worst from you. Let them stay in their ignorance and you in your integrity. You are clearly awesome, you don't have to prove it any further.

    - Angel

  • @staarshineee Thanks Angel. I wasn't angrily responding, more so jokingly. I don't really take what haters say to heart because I have a lot of fun doing this and am really proud of what I do. I added that at the end because I thought it was hilarious and would be a great way to end the credits hehe.

  • HAhahhaa! that last part had me cracking up! You did an amazing job, Danny. I don't know about all these other people who are always trying to find something to hate one, but I always get excited when you post a new video. You're my favorite on youtube. I think you deserve to be insanely proud of yourself, too. After all the hard work on one video, when you finally hear yourself sing every part together, I bet you feel very proud. And you have every right to be! I support you, and be proud! :)

  • @LPaige14 Thank you for the genuine comment :)

  • @daniscool99 You're very welcome :)

  • Danny, Any chance of doing another song with Brodie? I loved the duets you and him use to sing.

  • I know Danny irl. No autotune here except the demo at the end. Nice job Danny. Cheers.

  • @TNLbass Thanks for the vouch!

  • @daniscool99 np. just don't grab my ass again.

  • Crazy!

  • u sound awesome! who cares what others said about your incredible skills!

  • hey do u mind if i ask? DO you like Yu-Gi-Oh? or Naruto?

  • Dan you just amaze me everytime I watch your videos. You are so talented and I hope you know that man you just rock my world. Please keep singing and making videos :) It makes my day when I see a new video from you.

  • lol ! i dont care about any edit to voice or autotuning ! THEY ARE AWSOME no matter what !

  • Oooooh shivers :) this song brings nostalgia, and so does your "Nightingale" song

Now, barbershop time Danny!!! lol haha

  • Jesus that Autotune sounded terrible. XD I never doubted your authenticity for a second; some people are just talented. Despite this, some people have a hard time accepting this. Fantastic job.

  • Danny, you are one magnificent talent. Your range is astounding.

  • Good job, Danny! May I request a song? Can you do Take 6's Hark the Herald Angels Sing for this holiday?

  • haha! I like the end best! Nice song man, Merry Christmas

  • Beautiful voice, beautiful boy ^-^

  • Your range is so enviable. *sigh*

This song makes me happy I was born with ears.

  • That was nice !! Did you transcribed this one or found the sheet somewhere ??

  • Fantastic! I've always wanted to do something similar to this, but I don't have the money for decent video editing software, and certainly not decent recording equipment.

Also, where did you find this arrangement?

  • I find it interesting that alot of subscribers appear to be real music fanatics,

by the way that ending with when you autotuned is scary if anything.

  • omg, the autotuned vibrato at the end.. xD but great song anyways :) don't let the trolls get to you!

  • Lmfao!

That vibrato at the end made me chuckle.

  • The reason it sounds auto tuned is because his voice is so perfectly in tune. Congradulations you are truly amazing :D

  • I really think this would be more enjoyable at a medium swing. Wonderful as always though!

  • tenth!

  • OH god, worse than singing happy birthday at a family birthday. FUCK. The last part I was talking of course.

  • @qwertyzz7 Hahaha! Or singing Christmas carols with a bunch of aspiring pop singers! :D

  • @daniscool99 Lol, indeed. You should do that for your next video! :D

  • @qwertyzz7 BE POLITE and say it sounded good! gosh! XD jkjk (its ok i couldnt finish listening to it either) but we all know Danny has mad skills so we wont hold this one against him, right? haha.

  • @TheHappyBunny91 For sure. He has the maddest of skills. :D

  • I'm always so impressed with your videos Dan.You are a true inspiration to all of us aspiring singers.

  • Wait, is the last part of your video the original recording, or you messing with Auto-Tune? Cause, no offense, it sounded quite cacophonous (Is that even a word? If not, I'm appealing to Webster and Oxford). ;)

  • @engrish2006 The ending is what happened when I applied Autotuning.

  • @engrish2006 i beleibe cacophone is a word not sure if adding the ous makes it a fake word or not

  • @engrish2006 um. pretty sure its the autotuned version. he's made it pretty clear that

1 - he doesnt need autotune

2 - he doesnt use autotune

  • I have to say that I haven't heard the arrangement a lot, but from hearing your track, it'd be my preference now. It is indeed an astounding arrangement. :)

  • first...?

  • @carlos95110 So close!

  • Excellent, simply excellent
