  • They don't make them like they used to. The classics are filled with heart. Thanks for posting. I've seen what the pusher has done to people. Death and a hell of a lot of suffering.

  • i should have been dead way back when as they say!! but wether you believe in jesus or not you must live like you have 1 day left on this earth, and make someone that you love happy with a kind word or a friendly smile, cause you do not know if you will ever see them again in this chaotic world we call earth, PEACE

  • @topcatroar61oliosc right you are my friend kindness does not cost anything

  • wow really now?? 10 idiots were too high and accidently hit the wrong button, or they weren't high enough, this and many others tune are a huge part of the phyc scene and i will say i smoke to much of just about anything i could get my paws on in those days, being 50 and still alive made me into a god loving and jesus adoring man, thatz for sure, PEACE

  • I was in High School when this song came out. I was in High School when I saw Easy Rider at the theater. I attended Woodstock 1969. I am a baby boomer. My generation wrote the greatest Rock songs, produced the greatest Rock Bands, and produced the greatest Rock music in the entire history of Rock N' Roll! I was blessed to live my teens and my twenties during the greatest Era of Rock N' Roll. I was on a TV program and I got into the VIP section and actually ate dinner with the Blue Oyster Cult!

  • @theundercoveratheist You got that right

  • @theundercoveratheist Your right mate.. can't be denied.. the british/American rock n roll mid sixties to mid seventies was UNBELEIVABLE and will never ever happen again!! least we still got the pusher men..

  • Past Religions, Politicians, and Self Worshiping Human Beings of SELF! Now the Evil comes from the beauty of the STUPIDITY, and that being Humans Believe that the Word “Goddamn” is Evil, and is using GOD’s name in Vain according to their Religions, Politicians, and Self Worshiping Human Beings of Self! There is nothing like Willingness of Stupidity to PROVE ITSELF STUPID! Thus, you get Steppinwolf in “The Pusher” and it is not for the FAKE! “EYE” 5

  • i really want to click the picture with the hot girl on it but my mom is is in sight so i cant......

  • @7sadbeeyotsh7 Right click on the image and "Save Image As". Then you can look at it later. Just remember to delete it after, too :) And contemplate the difference between the terms "Gender Bias" and "Sexism". Eliminating one of them is a worthwhile goal, and eliminating the other, a straight road to a sexless hell

    Best part :P

  • thank god for fine smoke fine woman and bad ass choppers

  • This track was played during the Vietnam war by USAF Sgt. "Dave Rabbit", a pioneer of pirate radio. Upon uncovering new drug tips, he'd spin this after making his announcements in that regards.

  • It's just sitting out in in the cooling sands of Sharjah, listening to this, smoking some excellent Oxo cube and counting the days down to home and demob.

  • light, easy... i don't like to be that "things were so much better back than" guy, but last night i was stoned out of my head listening to a bunch of regular modern music, someone else played... and it was allright, REM and sort of stuff like that... and then my friend played this song and then i realized how much things were just cooler and lighter back then... you know, easy :) joy

  • At that time, I thought this song was so appropriate. And now, today, unfortunately, I fear it is still happening, on a much worse scale than my generation. We just wanted to get high, that I remember, not sniff bubble bath powders!

  • I was definitely born in the wrong era. If i could choose where I would go when I die, I would without hesitation want to go to the late sixties!!!

  • frig yeah!!

  • kay and them guys never did drugs straight sober

  • I wish I was back way back then with a joint in my hand and a beer in the other, Oh do i remember those days.

  • @arthurmarshall thanks man

  • @arthurmarshall and you still write like a teenager :)

  • @arthurmarshall wish my grandpa was like you haha

  • Okay, did some research here! The Pusher is written by Hoyt Axton and covered by Steppenwolf for the Easy Rider movie. Nina Simone did a cover version too! The similar AC/DC song is called Night Prowler...

  • Sounds alot like Nightcrawler by AC/DC! I like both bands...

  • Fah Kin Suh Pah

    Read out loud :)

  • things are different now,. but the pusher will survive

  • Tombstones u got that right, u sure got that right & so much more. Sure would luv those day's back & would take it in a heart beat!!!!! :) Im from LI NY & it's a blast up here!!!!!

  • I've been there and back. Guess I'm just lucky to be here. On the streets of different Cities hustling constantly. Having to look over Your shoulder all the time to see if anyone is trying to double deal You or worse. It's no life for a young person or anyone to get into. It will get You if You use the streets to make a living. There is no glamor in it at all.

  • never tried drugs, but, i always liked this song. lots of friends from the nam should have heard it. i still listen to it today, as a remembrance of some friends gone, do to not having their stuff together when it hit the fan.

  • Thumbs up if YOU used to be the Pusher!

I said God Damn the Pusherman....

  • Amazing song. much more than a song though. Goood daaaamm

  • GOD DAMN I SURE DO LIKE THE PUSHER MAN, WONDER WHERE HIS GOD DAMN PUSHER MAN IS??

  • Well, I'm about to hit a fat bowl, get some food, and then go to the courthouse. Wish me luck.

  • god damn that damn pusher

  • Orange sunshine, days lost and found.

  • LOL this is Steppenwolf?! I was at an open mic last night and these two played this song, and I was laughing at how bad it was. My friend and I were trying to decide if it was a cover or not, he seemed convinced it was an original but I thought it could be a cover, so i typed in "god damn god damn god damn god damn god damn the pusherman" and boom, here we are!

Their performance was horrible. I still think the song's kinda shit, but its much better in this context.

  • This is the best shit out there! No band can ever touch classic good old fashioned ROCK[N]ROLL !!!!! My pops and i used too rock this shit !!! R.I.P. old man

  • Just smoked a bowl now gonna chill back and ask God NOT to damn the pusher

  • @zero26tee That is one of the Greatest lines in Rock n Roll history..........................such a Dark picture

  • @zero26tee One of the best lines in Rock n Roll History

  • @zero26tee Hell yeah bro, Hell yeah

  • Don't get yourself down, I graduated in 1985, and I was in a Punk rock band called Elois, after a famous nut house in Nankin County just outside Detroit. Our lead guitarist Christine Collins was the daughter of an F-106 Pilot, who was shot down and killed over Vietnam somtime in1971. This song was a standard of the 1980s punk it was an awesome song to play.

  • The thing that sucks is how all the things that were 'counterculture' forty years ago, have since been played to death, and made so popular that songs and other material from that era have been made almost bourgeois... How many times have you heard the song Easy Rider used to peddle Toyota minivans or any number of other things on TV? Back then it was real, now they're just using yesterday's counterculture to sell a pop image of rebellion to doctors, lawyers, and they're spoiled kids.

  • polvorear la nariz, cocaine Mia, it´s cocaine, just say Goddem

  • Steppenwolf's lead guitarist hit some of the all time greatest acid rock guitar rifs and greatest guitar humanity has on tape for all time...Dan O'Niallain

  • this is good old hard rock music just the gd word i dont like

  • @1963jersey No reason to feel bad for asking God to damn the Pusherman.

  • tune....................

  • I declare total war on the pusher man

  • What the hell happened to music? And people? Why aren't they like this anymore?

  • @jhop9898 I agree man. This is so chill, and same with the people back then, from the stories i've heard my dad talk about. Now music is just a headache and people seem like they have a fuckin pole shoved up there ass...

  • @jhop9898 I agree man. This is so chill, and same with the people back then, from the stories i've heard my dad talk about. Now music is just a headache and people seem like they have a fuckin pole shoved up there ass... You get what I'm trying to say?

  • @JAMMYbeast Yeah man, I know exactly what you mean. It's like that whole generation had more self-respect and more interest in living their lives- having real experiences. Now its whiny kids with ipods listening to crap.

  • This ones for Dallas. :)

  • Written by Jacksonville, Fla. songwriter Hoyt Axton, whose mother wrote "Heartbreak Hotel".

  • @aesthetigeek Hoyt was also in the movie GREMLINS in the 80's.

  • You know I smoked a lot of grass. Oh Lord! I popped a lot of pills.........I'm still here having seen my idols die young....perhaps it's time to say No to the Doctor. Gave up smoking now I just get high on the music and the memories.

  • Perhaps the "language" is the reason some classic rock stations won't play it.

  • John Kay and Steppenwolf belongs in the Rock'n'Roll HoF and has since day one. Only politics and money won't allow it. Drugs withstanding, the '60s were an epic time to be alive in America. The whole country was a powder keg on a short fuse. My friend, an Army Ranger from Viet Nam, likes to say, "if you can remember the '60s, you weren't there." But he's wrong. I do remember them and wouldn't trade that experience . I never touched nothin' my spirit couldn't kill. The 'Wolf lives on.

  • real talk.

  • ssell that shit nigga

  • Why isn't this a "classic"?

  • @Dunkleosteus9 Sure it is, who says its not?

  • the one thing i miss about germany is the way people worked together and helped each other my mother was not working anywere special she was a secratary a single parent and had a mental breakdown her job paid for a 3month nice resort to give her rest, here in america its legal to give you herion (OXYCOTIN) any normal person gets addicted to that then when you get busted with one after your scripts stops instead of putting you in rehab they make a huge profit in fines and jail time! thanks govmnt

  • @blackopsusa51105 we could do it together

  • sweet..love this song..

  • the only drugs ill ever do are 100% natural.... i love this song.....

  • JJMFB1 your wrong. this song is about the dealer pushing heroin and coke and getting people addicted and then selling to them til they die.

If you listen carefully ...he smoked alot of grass but never did nothing that his spirit could kill.

This song is about the monster that gets people addicted to dope for his profit. not all drugs are bad. are you a kid?

  • Flashback to 1970. Sitting in the DQ shack on the U.S.C.G.C. #41 Shatocqua. Tripping...

  • this song is more about not using hard drugs .. and alot about using fun drugs.

you guys all miss the point of this song. Its about NOT getting ADDICTED... to your drug of choice.

    not an anti drug song.

  • @bytebull your a moron,it is 100% an anti drug song you must to smoken something man to not understand his meaning and cry for himself with his struggles with drugs.smell the roses fool not the smell of mary jane

  • @JJMFB1

you're livin in medieval times mate ? have some yourself and see the truth for yourself instead of saying what your government says , they really don't care about you or your health , only control and money counts .

not all drugs are bad , some of them are ;)

    peace

  • @JJMFB1 No, you are wrong. You had to be there and you obviously weren't. No one liked the pushers back then; they were the bad guys even to the users. This is an anti-pusher song, not an anti-drug song. There was a distinction in those days between the people who "got high" and the "junkies" who were addicted because of the pushers. Again, you had to be there.

  • @barbaraebj is right. Back in the '60s and '70s, the "dealer" was a buddy who sold what was then called "grass". The pusher man sold heroin, which had gotten as bad as crack did 20 years later in the inner city. Outside of Mexico, do you see pot dealers shooting up city blocks in a wild-West shootout without regard of whether some kid gets hit by a stray bullet? Even the original Hawaii Five-O had a 1975 episode about heroin pushers called "And the Horse Jumped Over the Moon".

  • Gotta love the guitars on this one!

  • Ive smoked allot of grass also, cool if it can stop there. good tmes

  • put on the boxing gloves, head gear and mouth piece cuz we going a few rounds with the heavyweights mudda fugga

  • one of them songs you just gotta smoke a big fatty too!! T

  • There was once a beautiful woman by the name of Debbie Hyatt. She graduated in 1969. Super intelligent, a beautiful body, everything going for her. She had the misfortune to get tied up with 'the pusher.' Debbie Hyatt was dead in the autumn of 88 from an overdose of heroin. god damn the pusher man!

  • /o David, I miss you bro, I guess the Pusher man was just like the pied piper....all's I can do now is visit your grave once a year..........

    Tex

  • i don't understand? What is he talking about!? :)

  • @imprettystoned god damn the drug dealer (or pusher) for pressuring people to use drugs

  • beat a 350 350 horse chev on the power of my Cavy to this tune!
