Melee was all about wavedashing and the characters were so unbalanced.

Brawl is all about dodge spamming...characters could still use more balancing, but it's a HUGE improvement over Melee.

1) Wavedashing is a very SMALL part of what makes melee great. Wavedashing could be completely removed and melee would still be great (better than brawl, in my opinion).

2) Melee is great because of the speed, fluidness, and opportunities for aggression. It's just an amazingly fun game and is incredibly rewarding for those who care to practice.

3) The characters are not any more imbalanced than in brawl.

The character list was totally imbalanced. Bowser, Mewtwo, Ganon, and Jigglypuff were almost unplayable.

And lets not mention the clones (Dr. Mario, Y Link, Pichu, ect).

The characters just weren't unique, and I feel that Brawl changed that.

Don't get me wrong - Brawl has problems too - but I just don't see why fanboys hump the shit out of Melee.

Trying not to be offensive but it actually sounds like you know very little about melee. Puff is one of the best characters in the game - a puff main (Mango) dominated tournaments for 2 years with puff, he's since started playing other characters though. Ganon is also very good, with a Ganon player getting top 5 in a recent large tournament. Also, "clones" play very very differently to their counter-parts. Not a big deal. I recommend you look at the tier list and tournament results.

M2K obviously wasn't too worried about them for whatever reason and he lost. He made it a good match, I don't see how anyone could be disappointed with the results: would watch again!!!!

Brawl is not as easy you think, though easier than melee. If it were like than, anyone could just play brawl for 2 weeks, go to a tourney and place well. It doesn't work that way. Your mindgames need to be top notch to be good at brawl not just tech skill. Brawl is a very strategic game and every hit is either 1. you did something wrong or your opponent did something wrong or 2. You read/predicted your opponent's actions. Whearas melee is 1 hit then combos x10

You need to read your opponent's DI, predict where they are going to tech, etc. just like in Brawl. It is far from automatic: most combos are only 3 or 4 hits and you can't just use combo starters from 0%.

...that's not what I meant. In brawl there are very little true comboes. In melee, if you get a good read, then correctly read DI, predict their actions/inputs, etc after that initial hit, you can 'COMBO' them from sometimes 0-death or at least do a ton of damage, because they is far more hitstun. Melee involves a lot more tech skill than brawl, but brawl still isn't a game that anyone can become good in a short amount of time. I was was just trying to state a point to some noob.

Ally beating M2K at Apex has spawned a plague in the Brawl community. I know that Ally is an amazing player, but the fact is, Ally was well-known initially because of his online play. Now that Ally stopped playing online and instead took his skill to in-person tourneys, a lot of Brawl noobs are going to start =ing online play to in-person play due to Ally's success and think they're good from online.

With that..imma go play Melee.
