you worry about picking a company to invest in. Then you realize that titans of intelligence have already picked them for you... makes you wanna just invest in everything in Berk's portfolio. But you know, you will never learn unless you comb through those annual reports and find the value yourself. The process is better than the proceeds.
I like to listen to guys like Charly Munger and Warren Buffet. I could not agree more with them and they have proven, they know what they are talking about
@marniespeaks I knew you were speaking out of your ass, don't bother making stupid factless comments about people you don't even understand. Charlie Munger has done alot more for the people of the USA and the the people of the world than just about 99% of the people who walk this earth.
@marniespeaks atleast he doesn't sugar coat everything, The truth is if you handle your own affairs well. crashes and recessions will work in your favour.
@marniespeaks I see that you are the type of person who likes to blame the world rather than blame them selves. It's quite a comfortable set of beliefs, no one is suffering because of berkshire hathaway. Berkshire was one of the first companies to start investing money into the system in the darkest days of the crash when everyone else was trying to pull out, this alone would have spared some misery. They also refused to invest in the mania leading up which ment the fall was not as high.
@marniespeaks did somebody say crazy conspiricy theory. Even if this were true. (which it is not) if charlie knew he would end. Look it is just to easy to make money legally in this world.
@marniespeaks You know nothing about Charlie Munger. I have studied his life in meticulous detail and I can find only one slightly contentious issue in his history. It regarded cross holdings of Berkshire, Blue Chip Stamps and Diversified retailing. Him and Buffett were investigated by the SEC and cleared of wrong doing. If you are going to make wild claims at least cite some examples. Otherwise, stop making yourself look like an idiot.
@marniespeaks You're making unsubstantiated claims with absolutely no evidence. In fact, you can't even cite ONE example of his supposed 'crookery'. People like you are a waste of space, you're IQ is low but your emotion is high and that makes you dangerous.
him n warren both are a treasure of knowledge and wisdom...if all of us and including our so called leaders learn anything from their ethics and honesty i think this world would have been a way better place then it is now.....
Success leaves footprints. there is a library of books on how they were successful and yet millions will try and make money on penny stocks or trade with Cramer.
I guess he was referring to the repeal of the Glass-Steagall act when he said the regulators went too far in financial deregulation; and that he was referring to the George Bush administration when he talked of idiots taking control.
He's only charlie munger one of the only people to be accepted into harvard law school with no undergraduate degree and graduated with honors, he also ran one of the most succesful investment partnerships with an average return of well over 20 percent over a period of more than 10 years and is the vice chairmen of the most successful investment and holdings companies berkshire hathaway.
Charlie is talking about some on the fundamental concepts in Benjamin Graham's The Intelligent Investor. If you are a Buffet/Munger fan who hasn't read his book but it today.
Benjamin Graham did a study and over 100 years the Dow crashed 19 times (almost twice every decade). Then the Dow recoperated every time. The trick is to invest big when the market crashes. Warren bought COP, NRG, GE and WFC in 2009 after a two year crash.
Charlie is so great. Such a smart, nice and honest guy. I did an interview with him too a while ago.
