Littler dogs I've noticed do tend to make that noise when playing with bigger dogs.... i think its to intimidate the larger one. Max could easily take the toy but he's probably so happy to have another dog to play with he will let it go on! I've got two dogs, one about twice the size of the other, and he puts up with a lot from the lil one haha.
