The only defense for pass 1 is picking pass 1 every time on defense and you will sack him every time. such is the rule of Tecmo Bowl which clearly congratulates the age old "cheating" by watching the other players hands to see what play he picked.

Pass 1 is very easy to stop.

Use the top DE and drop back into coverage in the upper half of the field. Make sure you are well above the TE as he runs his slant. When the pass in the air come down at an angle and its easy pickin's.

That BS play should only be able to work about 25-33% of the time if you master the angle necessary for intercepting it.
