Actually the first story Stan Lee wrote for Marvel was a Captain America Story, a text filler called Captain America Foils the Traitors Revengs in Captain America Comics Issue 3 from May 1941 and he revived Captain America for his infamous 3 issue Captain America: Commie Smasher run in the 50s

@DemiathDoomhammer That's the funny thing. He didn't appear in the, pun intended, "uncanny" film X-Men: First Class (and he definitely created them) but he's in this one! Not that I'm complaining; like you, I love his appearances! Can't wait to see him in The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man!
