  • @YLReaper really? do i need EVERY wow game? the 1 , 2, 3 and the 4? just too play cataclysm?

but can i just buy the first game and play that one? or do i really need to buy EVERY game?!

  • @Juledass95 no no no u gotta buy them all. the 1st one is the game the rest are expansions

  • @YLReaper DAMN!!

  • do i need all wow games too play catalysm?

  • @Juledass95 ya

  • Uber Lame

  • @lotmein20 False, spelt is accepted in countries such as Canada, Australia, England etc..

Yes, spelt is a type of wheat but it's also accepted to be the past tense of spell you ignorant troll.

  • @lotmein20 We spell it differently where I live DUUUR. Theatre/theater, centre/center, spillt/ spilled etc... you ignorant fool.

  • Put Shadow down, more fps.

  • Macbooks suck dildos.

    Get the ASUS G73.

    OR! Alienware m15x.

  • wow... Why Oh WOW definition of WOW Why Oh Why..

why oh why did they make such a shitty crappy game that onley nerds who have no friends play -.-

  • @markdocker

I can guarantee you that I have more friends than you.

Also I have more chicks than you. And I play WoW. I don't play it much but I play it.

Not all WoW players are cosplay nerds. When someone plays 5 hours CoD a day it's considered normal but when I play 2 hours WoW a day I'm a nerd? Yeah Right!

Weird by the way. I have a quadcore @ 2.4 ghz, a 295GTX, and 4 gb ram, but this MacBook runs it smoother. How is it possible?

    I'm saving for a MacBook!

  • @markdocker Fuck you prick. I have more friends than you.

  • @markdocker You spelt only wrong. I wouldn't have a problem with this if it were some other word, perhaps a more difficult word, but seriously. Who the hell spells only wrong?

  • Considering my 2006 PC desktop (SLI) runs games faster then a $2600 Macbook Pro, I cannt justify getting a a 17" MBP.

  • Returning a Apple laptop has a hefty 10% restocking fee.

  • uhmmm what's a native resolution, is that the highest resolution possible? im probably gonna by a 13" 2.4Ghz macbook pro soon and was wondering how it will run world of warcraft.

  • Mac is bad because you cant have all the addons installed in wow.

  • Lol i'm normally in 20's without fraps, about 7 with fraps.

    Fraps will fuck you up

  • take off the limit.....if you can i wante to see if yu could hit like 60+ in dala

  • LOL 16 fps. get a pc

  • @kattskrall regular macs run at 100-200 fps LOL get a mac.

  • @kattskrall You do know fraps is an FPS killer right If not running im guessing he gets 25-30fps

  • @kattskrall yeah and get some viruses, and deal with installing drivers, finding updates for the drivers when the company doesnt let u know there are updates. Hes recording and playing, so of course its gonna be a lower FPS, mine ranges from 57-116 depending on the area, and thats att max settings. "imma pc and i try to copy Mac, but fail, on almost EVERYTHING they do... even down to the same colour scheme..."

  • @IcemanExplorerNinja nah. installed win 7 64 bit. and a new fanless gpu. i havent rebooted for 20 days. What's this bs about not having drivers and getting viruses? Have you been living under a rock and/ or havent tried anything but win 98? I'd say mac have more compatibility issues than a pc. And i'm right. For proof just install steam and see what games are released to both mac and pc. Another thing is you can't crack shit on macs. But i guess you fags like paying the extra dough like a sucker

  • @kattskrall What compatibility issues would that be?

  • On which Realm do you play on?

  • best

  • oh yah

  • Comment removed

  • Nice , i got one too :)

  • @Tulanirebe like i really care, ujustmad.jpeg

  • @Tulanirebe yea cause i pay for all my shit buddy, unlike you asking your mommy for cash

  • @Tulanirebe im not black, youmad?

  • @Tulanirebe do i give a fuck, no..

  • @Tulanirebe you are the biggest idiot i have ever encountered

  • what do u use to record this :O? aim gonna buy 1 i7 8 gb ddr3 rams :p

  • macbook pros are good laptops! good for the basics and stuff that normal people who dont use the computer a lot should have. it all depends what you like. 2k for a macbook is not worth it to me when i got my alienware m11x for 800

  • the alienware m11x gets twice the fps of this, and all the settings are on ultra

  • @JohnnyWony but u gotta remember the alien ware m11x is a desktop isnt it?

  • @ieatyellow it is a laptop and it rocks! you should get one

  • @JohnnyWony but it sounds like its specially built for gaming. i dont have one but it seems the macbook pro is kinda like it does everything, not exactly great but ok. and not really focused on one thing

  • @JohnnyWony its also optimized for gaming. the macbook pro, but as you can see many games are very playable at highres.

the alienware is more like a toy and the macbook is more like a pro tool.

  • anche tu sei un ally che deve essere killato dal mio death knight lol

  • Can someone help me? I have a 17macbook pro but when I ran WoW months ago it wasn't anywhere as smooth as this? Could it be that my internet provider is on reg dsl and not the gaming whatever bandwinth is it?

  • @handelsme its your internet

2-4gb of ram plus a macbook pro processor is a very good combo for smooth fps

    so its definitely the internet

  • Your a cool guy most people just fucking brag lol. Cant wait for the new macbook pros. Then i can finally own a mac!

  • Can some one help me? tried to download WoW. When i chose where to download WoW, this error came upp "The file "/Users/Milan/Desktop/Play World of Warcraft.temp" could not be created. If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (InstallerFile::Create)" can any one help me, i have tried all day...

  • for a laptop with a graphics card of 9600m gt and higher, this you should bump down:

Full screen glow, shadows on 1 step lower than full, 4x multisampling,

  • what upgrades do you have on out 17inch macbook pro cause i'm getting 20fps in IF and about 11 in Dalaran and it's very choppy. That is running with no addons and I think I max resolution and very high settings... I'm wondering if you bumped up your model?

  • its prob ur hardrive, thats usually a bottleneck in computers, or atleast one of them, try upgrading to a solid state hardrive, or buy a back up hardrive to free up space on ur internal hardrive, because if its full, ur computer will slow down

  • Will the new imac late 2009 21.5 cheap model be able to run wow at full settings ?

  • fuck yeah it would run wow well the imac is pretty good for wow but of course with the imac 27 inch you will get around 60 or more fps because of the ati radeon 4850 but i suggest if you really want it to play well get the 27 imac

  • y dun u just bi alienware top model, thats much betar

  • @tazmaster08 he we go another retarded child who thinks people buy mac for games...lol u kids (or a adult) are really pathetic...have you ever thought that maybe people buy macs for its programs like final cut....ooo i forgot you stupid let me make this clearer....Mac = Final Cut Pro Windows does not...DUMBASS

  • @DavieeShoTzz look friend in that other comment i were acting like a douch to be ironic obviously macs a better than pcs

  • wait, im downloading mine right now on the same laptop, would WoW fuck up my laptop? cause everyone is saying dont do it in the comments, i have a MacBook Pro 17"

  • Can you have addons in wow on Mac ? And from where you can download them ?

  • well then, any suggestions for a affordable gaming laptop?

  • I was thinking of purchasing this laptop or the iMac to play WoW. Any suggestions?

  • Don't do it.

  • @zeroalmost dont do it...

  • not bad, pretty good

  • dont see the point of getting macbook pro for wow

  • im thinking of buying one.. its expensive so im not sure.. it even plays wow ok! you could turn your shadows down a bit.. wont affect much.. and yeah freezing isnt windows fault.. ito spanishrock88.. it can be due to anything.. hardware..viruses.. overall pc's are rated better for gaming..

  • what are the specifications of the Mac?

    Enjoy :D

  • kool fling thingie

  • wow looks pretty cool

  • I have a Pro 17'' and I played WoW for 2 years but now I decided not to play. The game used to ruin my entire school life. But to be honest, I miss WoW a lot :)

  • @CkvMntr Lol I stop playing after 3 years when my son was born about a year ago. If it ruined your school life, imagine what it'll do to my son's life. lol. I do miss it as well. Waiting for my 15" to come on Monday. Can't wait.

  • Ok for gaming a Pc or a Macbook?.....Like my pc works but when it comes to Wow and certain places on wow like Orgrimmar it always seem to freeze on me a lot.

  • Also cause there's a lot of people in Orgrimmar

  • she using a program to record you noob! and he recoreded HD

  • lololol my computer is over 1 grand cheaper and I get like three times the performance at a higher resolution.

  • i totally agree with u, im in the same situation lol. but i must say, there laptops are nice to look at :P

  • my macbook gets the same performance

  • i LOVE mac , but hope you didnt buy a 17 " unibody just to play WoW =_= !

  • lol you guys notice the people are to small for the world? I have never played this game but that looks wierd the world is alot bigger than the people!

  • I am getting my MacBook Pro 17" Anti-glare or Glossy I dont care I like them both and a 3.06Ghz core to EXTREME, and a 128GB SSD! I am so excited!

  • i agree pc's are better for games, but the good gaming pc's cost alot mac better 4 everythin else

  • or u said the same thing about pc, hypocrite

  • So much difference if you add a comma after the word "no"...

    Zzz...

  • what is the fps w/o the recording thing?

  • this is talking about laptops not desktops, you cant build a laptop, and even if you do, the mac will still run better, but it costs more, depends on your budget

  • A 15" macbook pro with 2.53ghz is more than enough, especially if you get the GT graphics, the 13.3" macbook aluminum can run it with 2.0ghz very well actually wtih all settings on high except shadows

  • aw, thank you soo much! :)

  • turn the aa off and then post a video on that,

no one is as dumb as you and is actually going to play at 4xAA

  • nope, lots, of ppl play with it at higher anti aliasing, why is it dumb, the jagged lines look smoother and better, it looks alot better, unless your eye cant see the differrence, there are some people who dont, and some people who could have 4x AA and think it looks like shit and need 8x AA

  • I know what AA is, the point you didn't get was that he is getting 15fps. I'm baffled at the fact that he has his AA on.

  • ok, i'm sure there's plenty information if i search it but i can't find it right now. which 15" macbook pro is good for wow? is the 2.53 Ghz enough??

  • ..And this is why when it comes to laptops.

    MacBook > everything else

  • Hey to everyone who are wondering if WoW plays good on a 17 inch macbook pro well you cant ask better got like 100fps where ever i want except dalaran and some city you just cant ask better it runs freakin great

  • hello mate i got a question well i got a budget of less then 1500 dollers but more then 1000 dollers and i wanted to get a mac for gaming like those games you download fro free from the internet but someone else made a vid here in you tube saying a PC is better do u know which is better PC or MAC?

  • well if you dont mind playing on a 13,3 inch screen you can buy the macbook or macbook pro 13,3 its got like 80fps everywhere except dalaran

  • wow don't watch in HD, it misleads the graphics because the video slurs and it makes it look like the mac is doing that. but when i re-watched the regular version it looked great!

  • Great video

  • Is it possible to play WoW on a MacBook Pro 13" 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB

    with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M

    ?

    thanks!

  • totally it runs great

  • hell yes

  • Yeah wow should run great on that

  • hell yea it should play it good

  • low -medium settings to get about 20+ frames yea

  • Yes

  • wintergräääsp

  • gotta say love WoW on the mac book pro got it, with a 2.8 Ghz processor with 4 GB of ram and 500 GB HD it is so awesome upgrade from my old PC that i played WoW on that lagged every second and highest frame rate was like 30 but this one is 70+

  • Never gonna happend dude

  • let the kid cry lol

  • for some reason it doesnt look like the shadows are on in the video, weird

i guess i kind of overestimate WoW's requirements to be on high, then again im using a 8600M GT for all my gaming so im kind of used to having to bump some settings down

  • yes the shadows are on.. look at the trees at the beginning... but in the cities its nornal there's not a lot of shadows except in a bright sunny day

  • to the maker of this video: did you switch the graphics processor before you started the game? the 17 inch macbook pro has a SEPARATE Nvidea graphics chip in it that is made for "high performance" apps. AKA games and video editing. you have to change it in the settings and this should run at like 40-50 fps on all high settings

  • woah that is awesome...

can i use right click though?? i know there are settings to do it with mac, but can I buy a right click mouse and use it with macS?

  • the mighty mouse has right click, just enable it

  • Could you maybe upload a video of the same settings, but without the shadows? Shadows affect the framerate in WoW even more than resolution in most cases (no one is sure why). I'd like to see northrend on the 17" UMBP without shadows, because thats how I would run it.

  • I love how you say "Wintergrasp" LOL!

  • How much do the MacBook Pro 17'' cost?

  • about £1200 i think

  • no idiot it cost 1,684.764 pounds

  • hey hey, dont hate just correct him, no need to get mad

    sheesh

  • i think like 2,500 base in U.S. currency

  • yeah it starts at like 2000 for the 15 inch

    with the lowest specs...

as you update can go all the way up to like 3500...

  • yeah i know! its insane! i'm getting mine soon for college...after i configured it and added the student discount it comes to over 3 grand. But that's because i upgraded the hard drive speed and the processor as well as the anti-glare screen and the microsoft office software package...so i'm getting my money's worth

  • i recommend not getting microsoft office software package until you find out if your college offers it for free. i know that my university offers a LOT of microsoft software for free.

  • i really hope also that you didn't purchase a macbook pro 17" before apple's WWDC because they came out with updated ones (17" didn't really update but instead became cheaper).

  • I tested out WoW on my bro's MacBook Pro 15'4", the one before unibody. It ran amazingly well! I tried out Wintergrasp and at some points I got 100 fps with all settings set to max, and even got 100 fps while filming. NO lag at all!

  • Imposible. The 8600 cant pull off max wow at 100 fps especailly while filming

  • I don't think it was the 8600. But I think I said wrong, not 100 fps WHILE FILMING, don't think so at least. But at least it hit over 100 fps with all settings to max while in Wintergrasp. I can guarantee!

  • It was a macbook pro non unibody so it has the Nvidia 8600m GT. I have a better card and running it at 1920 x 1080 and getting 40 - 70 fps mostly 60

  • Are you sure? Weren't there other options? I'll ask my bro tomorrow..

  • And btw, what computer do you have? MacBook Pro, another Mac or a PC?

  • Okay, it was the NVIDIA 8600M GT, 256MB. But I think it's really strange how extremely well the MacBook Pro runs WoW with that graphics card, with only 256MB! I would think you would only get about 40-50 fps with that card, but when you're getting 60-100 fps.. I have no idea, but it might be the system, Mac OSX Leopard. Or else it could be some damn good hardware, well, that's why Macs are pretty expensive, because it's using so good hardware. But I dunno...

  • Was this prior to WOTLK? cause that would explain it

  • What do you mean with 'prior to' ?

  • Before WOTLK was released and everyone updated to 3.0 thingy. Because with WOTLK the graphics increased

  • I tried it out on my bro's MBP a few weeks ago.. With WOTLK.

  • with all the graphics all the way up?, how is it in raids, and in wintergrasp. im thinking of buying a new computer, and when i do im thinking of switching to mac

  • fuck you!! stop whatever you are doing. just get a life

  • did you experience any problems with the graphics card so far???not in the game... generally...

  • max 30fps is not good at all. Too high settings for that 9600GT

  • screen recording is going to drop aloooooot of frames also

  • True, but...

  • The screen recording limits the FPS to 30. It's not that it can't reach higher than 30, it's that the screen recorder is forcing it below 30.

  • What OS was this test performed in?

Mac OS X? XP? Vista? MAC OS X -> XP via Fusion 2 (doubtful)

    etc..

  • Mac OSX.

  • Some questions here: how do you get that thing that shows the FPS? And how do you start a movie recording in WoW?

  • there is a program calls FRAPS that records and convert it to avi; it also shows how many FPS you're getting as you're playing the game.

  • Yes but in his video, in the bottom middle section, there was a little counter showing the FPS. I wanted to get that, and it looks like it's part of WoW. And Fraps is only compatible with Windows.

  • ctrl + R

  • I'm not bragging about anything. I'm posting these videos to help people who are looking to buy a MacBook and want to know how WoW would run on it.

I play WoW on my gaming PC almost every day. Matter of fact, I use my PC 90% of the time for everything. PC is my primary platform but I still love Apple laptops.

  • Faster doesn't mean jack if the OS isn't built for non-IT. Windows is only good for gaming due to its user base. Doesn't make it a good OS.

  • Can you please not start this Mac vs PC war here? I am PC fun, I have PC and Mac. Yes you can get better value for money on PC if you measure value in terms of raw computer power. And I appreciate that, I have Toshiba notebook, it was the best value for money at the time I bough one. If I wanted to get a cool portable the choice would be between Mac and Sony, pretty much the same price. If you want to fight superficial people you should insult Swiss watch lovers, D&G t-shirts lovers etc.

  • eternalkp is on a personal vendetta. This is like the 3rd video I have seen him in. LOL he must be really insecure about his choice. Kind of sad really.

  • dude, i am just spreading out good news to gamers. don't have to be like that.

osborna, what are you talking about?

for that $4k you spend on the dell. you can get Phantom i7

  • HA! You are pretty wrong. Just because more people have them it doesn't make them better.. George Bush was elected? Was he the best? Hmm.. the majority is NOT always right.

I have a MacBook and I love it - I also use my Dell XPS for gaming - but only gaming. For every day use such as college work nothing beats Mac.

The reason their market share is so high and prices are much lower is that they are bigger, hence economies of scale yadda yadda. Apple just cant afford it - monopoly.

  • The Eurocom D900F?

Priced with equal components makes this laptop cost $4k+

The max ram available for the D900F is 8gb

Just because it specs well doesn't mean the hardware doesn't BSOD every 10 mins like every other gaming laptop.

  • BSOD, what are you talking about?

do you actually own a gaming laptop to make such comments? so dell, alienware, falcon nw, voodoo, sagers, etc... sell laptops that crashes every 10 minutes? what are we saying here dude?

Sager 9262 sells laptop with 2 9800gtx running SLI and desktop cpu Q9650 for a year now and they're doing quite well.

many companies over the years have cramped desktop cpu into laptops. this is nothing revolutionary. if you don't know anything about computer, buy a cute MAC

  • Wow :o since when does Stormwind have a Harbor? :) Is it with the Lich King exp.? I stopped just before it came out =]

  • Dude... im getting one like next week, and this video is a total let down.. cuz 20 fps is seriosuly.. shit.. like... my old ps2 can do better than that.. wtf.. i thought wow didnt take a lot of graphic power,, wtf... and i was dreaming of running bootcamp and installing dawn of war 2 on it... shit.. not happening i guess

  • It's actually not bad while playing. In some games 20fps is bad, but in WoW it's definitely playable. It also varies, so it goes higher than 20 FPS at times. I'm assuming WoW will run better under Windows via boot camp. Also, WoW 3.1.0 is supposed to fix a lot of the Mac issues.

  • Your also forgetting that he's running at 1080p high def, 1920x1200 resolution. Thats quite a bit of memory, even wit h the 512MB's that 9600 has.

You'll find that the 15inch version running at 1440x900 will do a hell of a lot better considering its using the same graphics card and memory (2.53Ghz). That and you could just turn some minor settings and res down. High 3D dynamic shadows are a huge hitter on the OSX version of WoW. Turn that off and you should be lookin at a free 20fps.

  • Oh i see.. So this isnt native resolution? its actually higher??

  • The native resolution for the 17" is 1920x1200, and that's what the game was played at, so it is native.

The native resolution for the 15" is 1440x900.

  • I also did the same test on the 15" if you are interested, check my other videos.

  • the reason for the low frame rate is cos he is also recording the video while playing the game using the ingame mac recorder, i have a normal iMac with roughly the same specs and while using the recording software ingame framerates always drop to about 20 without recording framerates are roughly 60-80 fps, so with bootcamp running dawn of war 2 it should play very nice

  • very good point...for me screenflow sucks a lot of power/framerate..

  • Keep in mind that screen capturing in-game takes a lot of memory away.

  • Awesome Vid!,

Is it possible you could try the performance of WoW via Bootcamp?

Id also like to see some Vids of Raids (25 Mans) and some PvP.

I've Ordered the 17" with a 2.93ghz processor and am hoping to run wow (maxed out w/ about 100mbs worth of Addons) on Windows Vista 64

  • ok I will leave windows finally...I will get mac book pro in best buy

  • so..finally Mac is good also for videogames?
