The gese are domestic, so dont actually "fly". They sometimes get a good updraft and soar about the fields or flap down the hillsides. But flying isnt possible for them. They dont even recognise the wild geese in the skies above them as "geese" like them.
That is Belle, our female Great Pyrenees (she'd be very hurt to have you think she was a boy!) She is the best ever. But going into semi retirement this year as she is getting a little creaky and is deaf now. Max, our 115 lb male, will be taking over the goose protection duties, while Belle will look after the farmyard.
Do you know how old they are before they can start generally flying?
