It was then I realized why this album was created, and why it's awesome. It's pure and raw emotions. And the easiest way to understand this album... is being able to relate to it. Which I did. I think people only "hate" this album because of the hype on the lead up to this album. people were looking forward to the album "too much" and lead to people being dissapointed. but some of the riffs are quite good and St Anger, Frantic and Shoot Me Again are possibly the best songs on the album.

The chorus kind of lacks in low end guitar work - Kirk and James are playing high, so I kind of feel like the chorus lacks the boom they got on the record because of overdubbing...

@Metabeen1 What? Are you serious? Jason was using that aggressive vocal style long before screamo existed. I'd say Phil Anselmo had more to do with screamo vocals than Jason did. 2 miliion teenagers bought the "Trendkill" album, heard it and thought, "I can do THAT! I gotta start a band that downtunes their guitars and scream all the time!"
Don't get me wrong, I love Pantera AND that album, but it became apparent to me that a lot of bands after that album came out sounded exactly like it.
