It's the same thing, you buy/collect already growing moss and just grow it else where, where it continues to GROW. I found some moss under a pine tree by my house, so I thought it be a nice addition to one of my Bonsai trees, after about a month it looks great!! but is not as green as it was in the beginning what can I dont to bring back that deep green, but not kill my bonsai?
