True : ) but i am refering to the red rolls, i haven't re-watched this, but there are ALOT of red fills ( and then a couple of blues i think), where they have added an extra snare into the fill, but you can't actually hear it.
Those are ghost fills. Mostly used in Jazz music but it finds its way into Rock sometimes. The James Gang's drummer likes to do ghost double left hand strokes. Those notes you're referring to are LLR ghost notes on the snare. You'd be able to hear it on the master tape.
