I am considering buying one of these Takamine 12's. Is it a good guitar and how's the action on it. Have you ever played it with the Jangle Box?

@MrNocaster1 The guitar I am playing in this video is relatively "inexpensive" and I no longer own it. I purchased a much better instrument but at approx. 4 times the cost...so keeping that in mind, the 12-string I was playing in this video was a very good guitar for the money in my opinion. At the time(3-4 years ago) they were selling for around $650-$700 new.

First time I ran across your site. First of all great post, nice work. You are a pro. I am a hobbiest and I have that same model Tak. 6 &12 stringers. I do know how to play Here comes the Sun, but I never tried playing it on the 12 stringer, when I'm done typing here I'm I'm bee lineing it staright for the 12 stringer. and check it out. I also love 12 stringers I have 5 of them including 2 custom made ovations, 2 Taks, and a Beedlove all of whinh I ihave the matching 6 stringers. great job.

awesome job, are all three of those electrics fender stratocasters? because if so dont you think thats a waste of money to get 3 of the same guitar (i realise they have different finishes) ....... why wouldnt you just get 3 different electrics?

@sadchad1 One is an original 1973 model. The other two are American Deluxe Models...which for a while i used a lot for live playing. Not a waste of money in my opinion.

@sadchad1 most strat players i know own more than one! There is a lot of nuance and subtle differences in one strat model to another, from pickup type, to neck shape, body style etc... just because they look similar does not mean you have duplicate guitars. it isn't like buying three of the same car!

You I argue with my friends all the time about music, some of them play guitar too, but they don't much care for stuff like this, I tell them they are all fools, a 12 string may be harder to master, but it is SO worth it, Nothing in in my opinion is better than the sound of a 12 played the right way, thanks for this video man. is there any diffrence between a 6 and 12 string guitar apart from the number of strings? if i did a C chord would it sound like a C as it would on a normal guitar? i know ukelele's have diffrent tuning and banjos etc... good cover you should give lessons id pay for them lol happy guitaring :)

@BMXBOBO The additional 6-strings are mostly tuned an octave higher which give a "chorus-like" sound when played. Otherwise, the 12-string is about the same as a 6-string.

Sure! E,A,D,G,B,E for the "main pair" of strings and E(an octave higher), A(an ocatve higher), D(an octave higher), G(an ocatave higher), B(same), E(same)...for the octave strings.
