  • Really, really wonderful video! It brought back many memories... I'm originally from Santa Cruz, but as a young musician I spent many wonderful times in SF. Now, I am becoming acquainted with the mid Atlantic states.

I found you through Peter, the "geriatic" one....

  • I'm happy to have sparked good memories! I'll be over there to listen to more fiddlin', your music sure makes me smile!

  • Yep, you have definitely sparked a cascade of wonderful memories.... Thank you for the kind remarks about my fiddling. It is still very new to me, but I am having so much fun learning! I need to become familiar with our video cam... it is absolutely stunning here this morning and I would love to try and share some of that. Very crisp and well... cold.... 29 degrees... a breeze. Lolly pines and lots of tall, tall grass....

  • Excellent video. It is so much fun seeing everyone's different perspective on the gathering! I see from the other comments, PDXvlog has already been identified!

  • I'm slightly claustrophobic- It was funny watching people filming people filming people filming people filming people filming people filming people filming people filming..but I would have been out with the seals long before my batteries in my camera gave out

  • We were actually sufficiently "outdoors" for me not to feel suffocated. However the seals were soothing, and I needed that because the cameras and crowd noise were pretty overwhelming.

  • Once again you have made an excellent Vid. It certainly shocked me! I thought San Francisco had wall to wall sunshine 12 months of the year. You all are dressed as if you were in Edinburgh. If I ever come to S.F. again I'll make sure it is in June or July. I would have loved to have been there to meet Paul and Zipster and of course you. Love Denis.

  • Denis, San Francisco has more rain and fog than anyplace else on the West Coast! It can be a beautiful, sunny spring day *everywhere else*, but as you cross the Golden Gate, its towers will be so occluded with fog you can't see the tops! This was, however, a VERY STORMY DAY!

  • Even if it was stormy you seem to have had a wonderful day with a lot of warmth shown by everyone in the video. Spring is here it's been very sunny but extremely windy and cold. The daffodils are flowering and I am looking forward to this summer for the warmth and I am growing potatoes and tomatoes in bags. All the best Denis.

  • Ah? Tell me about the tomatoes and potatoes - in bags? I've heard of growing potatoes in straw, I want to try that! Happy Spring to you!

  • I don't whether you have "grow bags" in the U.S.A. but if you have you can grow up to three plants per bag. Potatoes are different. You buy seed potatoes there 3 different types (Early, late early and late) Early ones are best as we don't get new potatoes in the shops so early. You can use black refuse bags. Roll the sides down and make sure there are a few hole in the (Not big) for drainage. I'll complete this reply on another reply as I am running out of characters.Denis

  • I get this part. What is used in the garbage bags - potting soil or hay? One thing about growing in hay is you get clean potatoes, easy to find without disturbing tubers you don't want. I'm also interested in varieties I can "seed" myself later.

  • General Purpose compost. The compost isn't stick to the potatoes like in the garden! If you go to "The Old Farmers Almanac" which I joined, you will get lots of information on growing all sorts of things and when to sow etc. in the U.S.A.They also have lots of receipts for cooking etc. It's very Good. You must have spent a lot of time on your P.C. to return my message so soon. I certainly do recommend The Old Farmers. Denis.

  • I get up early. It's currently 6am here - I was up at 3 this morning. :) Thanks for the info, as I said I ordered potato starts already! I'll check out the Almanac, thanks!

  • Hey Ruth, you didn't get any footage of us...

  • Yes, I know... where did you end up?? LOL!

  • Bubba Gumps for a late lunch and then back to Sonoma... :)

    Sandi

  • looks a little strange, all those people pointing cameras at one another...

wet puppy hugs to the effects guy.

  • Wet puppy hugs are the best! I know he went out to do his biz because he was drenched... sometimes he just waits till I come home to tell him it's OK!

  • has he his own door?

  • Yes. He lets me use it too when I want :)

  • It's really important to share doors with those you love.

  • Even if I have to crawl on my hands and knees ...

  • Its awesome Youtubers get together out there like that. Nothing like that happens in the mid-west

  • SouthTube is coming up ... can you make it down there?

  • The guy in the guitar is PDXvlog and the guy recording him is me. . . . yeah. . . wooo!! Gathering!!. . okay I'm done, heh.

  • AH ha! Oooh, I have to check out your channel now & see! Thanks for identifying PDXvlog - he's really very good! :0

  • The singer is JP from Paradise Crossing I am glad to see him and, he took his guitar. They are an awsomw group. Thanks for the video. Nice seeing a lot of the folks I know here.

    Peace,

    Allen

  • JP is great! I will have to check him out!

  • Shame about the weather, but as long as you enjoyed yourself

  • Oh, we did! Short but sweet! :)

  • I loved it! It's great to see everyone unrehersed!

  • Yes, they are actually life sized instead of 5x5 inches!

  • it was a very cool gathering and excellent footage :0)

  • Hi Mark! I saw you there but didn't get a chance to say hello - so HELLO!

  • I've met Curt, Di, & Zipster at South Tube! What awesome folks!

(you should put their channel names in this video's tags!)

Oh, well! A little liquid sunshine is a good thing! Hope you had fun! :)

  • Isn't is awesome & strange to meet YT er in person? They're so ... BIG! :) I was going to put up channel names, but I know there are so many folks I didn't get to meet - didn't want to "play favorites"... That's why I asked "how many do *you* know?? :)

  • LOL! It was VERY strange, to actually meet people that if been "cyber-friends" with, for over a year & 1/2, now! I have a couple that I am closer with, that I have got to hang with on multiple occasions. That's why I can't wait for the next gathering- so I can make some more new friends! ;)

  • Looks like a lot of people were there even with the bad weather! Thanks for braving the weather to go and sharing a bit of your time there! :-)

  • My pleasure! I wish it had lasted longer. I'm used to SF weather but the rain on the way home was torrential! It hasn't let up much since then either...

  • Yak!! Lovely weather. That might explain why all the vids I've seen so far were taken indoors. It does look like there was quite a turnout on the pier. How long did it last?

    Moosie

  • Three or four hours I'd guess. I made the mistake of getting hungry and when I came back, most everyone was gone. It was cold and wet, so yeah, they all went indoors!

  • Very, very kewl, Ruth! Do you have more footage on the way?

  • No, not of the gathering. There were several times I *thought* my camera was on, but it wasn't, I get so excited I don't know what I'm doing! Lots of "foot"age - of people's feet...

  • What a sight!! Everyone walking around with their cameras :O) Loved the seals and the scenery. Thanks :O)

  • YT gatherings are so funny, everyone's either got a camera aimed at someone else or looking into a lens - I always wonder what the tourists are thinking ... :))

  • Nice to meet you once again, sweetheart!! *hugs*

  • Hi Sign! Yes, but you left so soon - actually came looking in Hard Rock for y'all but nobody there! :( Maybe next time we can have a beer together. I'm going to 888 in Toronto - can't wait!!

  • Wow! Looks like a wet one!! Even so lots of folks turned out it seems. Nice shot of the Golden Gate!!! Thanks, Grams

  • Yep, ever so wet! I had to pull off to um, you know... and Vista Point is one of the my favorite views. The gathering was great, but short. I looked around and everyone was gone! Wusses... :)

  • yay! i'm the weird kid in the vid walking away from sign543

  • You're the guy who imitated Sign to Sign? Cool! Hi, nice to meet you!
