  • why does KLM from to Bangkok then to Taipei? instead of direct flight?

  • do the wiper blades need replacing?

    Good job!

    regards,

  • nice video, klm doent fly to Australia how come. And would you rather try to fly the a380 than the b747

  • I LOVE ENGINE SOUND AT THE END. MAN U ROX !

  • nice ride

  • You are quite literally the best 747 pilot I've ever seen. All of these landings are absolutely phenomenal!

  • Hey I have a request: KLM flys it's 747-400 into where I currently live, KIAH. Do you think you can do a cockpit landing video next time you fly into here? :)

  • Can you say RainX.....

  • hi sure t love your videos! keep them coming. How many years did it take to become a 747 pilot?

  • wipers on high, huh?

  • Sleeping tower ??? ;D

  • i'd say your wiperblade was knackered;-)

  • It's spelled Taipei

  • The blades on the wipers could do with a change.

  • it's Taipei......................

  • 1:06 Pinball highscore

  • spelled taipei not taipeh

  • water on the wings increase the stall speed

  • Landing in bad weather or when it is windy is the number thing I hate. I fly for Dragonair and a few years back when I landed in Taipei the IRS broke halfway due to a ruptured electrical cable, and when I was landing there was a huge troph from Guam that had pushed up the coast. So we were practically blind and we had to go-around 3 times as we couldn't see the runway until we were at around 2000ft. This was the first time me and my co-pilot Kenneth were worried.

  • Time to change out the wipers? :p Half of it dosent seem to do much :D

  • @Snookenas i wonder if they can get this out of a peep boys store

  • Love your videos.....but it is Taipei :)

  • Thanks for sharing with us this beautiful videos.

  • I wonder how often them windshield blades have to be replaced. lol

  • Whew, I thought he was going to take that taxiway at 50 in the rain for a moment.

  • Can you tell me captain why some runways are named numbers with L or R and others are named just numbers?

I am asking because i see in google earth that the name of the runway is 05 and the right one is 06 and not 05R. Thank you.

Have you ever flied to Greece.

If not, i hope to come soon.

  • @vaskos35cm I can tell you. For example: Schiphol airport has three runways with course 184. The closest number to 184 is 18. So all those three runways are called runway 18. But they must all have independent names, to avoid any confusion. So the left runway 18 is called 18L (18 Left), the middle runway is called 18C (18 Center) and the right runway is called 18R (18 Right). In that airport of google earth the left runway had for example a course of 054 (05) and the right runway 055 (06).

  • @arjennovic Thank you very much. In fact i was in Schipol 3 weeks ago.

So the captain wrote wrong the runway.

  • @arjennovic and TRE had rwy 05L/25R & 05R/23L before, but 05R was downgraded as taxiway NC in 2001 (or 2000, I forgot which one is correct), because it was too short and it was only usable for departure when rwy 23L/R were in use because of the cargo ramp at rwy23 side. TPE needs more taxiway, so they decided to downgrade it. It was closed for removing the rwy lighting system and markings. However SQ006 confused 05L&R and crashed into machines on 05R during a take off in typhoon and heavy rain.

  • can you tell me at 50ft do you just raise nose up a bit and then idle at 30 or is it the otherway round?

  • It's extremely interesting to see the view from the cockpit, something I've always wanted to see, thanks heaps for the video.

  • how come i rare see a fully autolanding ?

  • Either those wiper blades have gone south, or some genius put some Rain-X or similar crap on the windscreen! I was quite shocked at the ineffectiveness of those wipers. I would be writing to maintenance with some very choice words!

  • the wiper blade needs replacing

  • Those wind shield wipers... they dont' work well do they?

  • minimums, just say runway! lol

  • Those wipers are HIT

  • KLM can't afford new wiper blades?

  • hey at least they dont squeak XD

  • Like others, I think KLM need to change their wipers ;)

Very nice video too, i sub' you :D

  • please change the windshield wipers

  • @zyrilo

Wow...I was going to say the same thing...Time to head for Pepboys...

  • rain rain rain it never stopped huh i hate to drive in it to

  • KLM = Kool Landing Man!!!

  • Those wipers on a multi-million pound 747 don't really work.Good job SuredT.This vid has confirmed what a great job you guys do.

  • WOOW you can barely see anything

  • well it seems to me that if u want to be a commercial airline pilot then you must have a good eyesight and HATS OFF TO PILOTS WHO INVOLVED IN THIS ADVENTUREOUS PROFESSION

  • How does water affect the aerodynamics of a jumbo? Aside from the extra weight and drag, does it rob the wings of lift as well?

Thanks for all the great videos. Hope to see many more. :)

  • @vivski. Gliders do suffer from rain, but in big airliners I have never noticed this, but than again you have engines to overcome any drag increase ;-)

  • @SuredT In General aviation, rain increase stall speed right ?

  • @vivski Rain doesn't rob the wings of lift. Actually, in rainy and cold days, the air is more dense. And since lift and drag is proportional to air density, you will get more lift and more drag.

  • Nice landings guys, congrats

  • Beautiful video! Thanks!

I know you fly to many destinations and it is really great of you to let us have this insight. Do you think you could make a video of a landing in Mexico City next time you fly there? It´s my hometown and I think the approach is really interesting from a pilots point of view.

    Happy New Year Sir!

  • @JCP598. Look at this beautiful video of a colleague of me. I can not do this better.

    youtube dot com/watch?v=txIvX_bMc14

  • @SuredT Thanks a lot for the link!

  • Where did this flight to RCTP originate from? Great video as usual!

  • How it is difficult to get a job as airline pilot in commercial airlines?

  • Hi dear SuredT

What you think about new wiper blades? :-)))))

    Best wishes

    Jo

  • omg, what happens if windshield wiper were to konk out? what's the back up plan?

  • The quietness in the cockpit is impressive (and reassuring for those scared of flying)..

  • I'm going to go ahead and assume this was a ILS landing?

  • @Astrofan2329 its not ILS, in final approach AP is disconnect at 1:07 for VFR

  • @yarvet0506 All time is ILS approach, all time is IFR only without a/p.

  • @Rafal102able yes yes, exactly, thank you.

  • Well,Welcome to Taiwan!

The good thing is that wasn't Typhoon

If that was a Typhoon, thing will be really tricky

  • Haha my car has exactly the same wiper problem, it works, but it's leaves a nice big wet curve across my line of sight.......so annoying.

  • Did you ever notice that the wind screen wipers sound like an owl??

Also, have you ever flown airbuses in your previous career sir?

  • Thanks a lot!

  • Sir, greetings from Brazil. Sorry to bother you with such a stupid question, but tell me something; you probably fly all the KLM's 747's. Does each of 'em behaves differently? I mean, I've heard that every aircraft has its "soul", its own particular noises, and so forth. Does that affect the way you fly 'em? Thanks!

  • @thevocalmaster. Most of them are equal in flight characteristics. When there is a difference, it's only noticeable in noise or draught in the cockpit.

  • @thevocalmaster Great landing as always sir. Not to get into your business or tell you how to fly...But watching the last part of the video, I must say...You should probably get those wiper blades changed. They are streaking! :P

  • but what do you do, when your destination leads into a storm? i mean... a freaking heavy storm? are there any regulations, what say, when is the critical point of landing here or go elsewhere, where weather is "better"?

  • @susspuss. Indeed there are regulations for such circumstances. A commercial flight has to have a minimum visibility or a maximum (cross) wind for take off or landing or else the flight is illegally operated.

  • Would a bad wiper blade be logged as a discrepancy?

  • Great! Thanks for your clip.

  • u need wipers :) ,, might get ground crew to put some rain x on ur windshield next rainy flight :)

  • nice landing ! you guys are really good. By the way, welcome to Taipei !!

  • Great video, love the camera angle and all the cockpit noise, you make it look easy, great job

    Stay safe

    Stu

  • SuredT. sorry to bother sir. but uhm im a bit embarrassed of askin things to a real pilot like you, but i have too, because my wish is to become a real pilot too. Questions:

Why cant a pilot have teeth with that material to fix them, the dentist applies, cose i have that and i need to get the tooth out if i want to become a pilot and id love to know why a pilot cant have and a pax can. and.. can u advise me on where to go to become a pilot? thanks for reading!

  • Het ruitenwissertje heeft z'n beste tijd ook wel gehad ;-P

En ook heel vervelend dat ie maar één standje heeft.

  • time to replace wiper blade or use rain-x

  • Man that windshield wiper is a shocker. I think this big 7 would fail the next rego check until they change the rubber! lol

  • In bad weather conditions like this, how is the mood in the cockpit ?. Is it like any other landing on the job or is it a bit more tense?

  • @kimlarsson. If it is just rain, there is no difference. Only the landing must be more firm to break through the thin water-layer on the runway, otherwise there is a risk of aquaplaning. If it is more windy with a lot of gusts then you have to be more careful.

  • @SuredT When you approach the B747 in a glide slope, you use trim on yoke or you pull up and pull down the yoke?

  • Sured are you a bit nervous at such weather conditions, fantastic video

  • Can you put that windshield wiper also on interval, just like a car?

  • @asicslover. No, which is sometimes really annoying. My 10.000 dollar car is able to do it, but this multi million dollar aircraft not , LOL

  • @SuredT Haha, No kidding. Isn't that something else.. Atleast the aircraft should have them 4 inch mini blades on the landing lights like the Luxery cars do, lol

  • @SuredT Do u become scared in this type of situations??

  • Art & Science!

    good job, people!

  • Always love your videos SuredT. Keep them coming!

  • Is this flight KL877 from BKK to TPE?

If so, I'd like to board on your flight and into the cockpit for take off and landing.

    =D

  • is that not scary

  • best part: 0:27

  • i think u need to change your wipers...=D

  • @dinohoo concur

  • @fgap1 meaning?

  • @dinohoo - - - Concur means "I agree with what you are saying".

  • How long did you have to rest after this? Was it 1 Hr 30?

  • wow.... Great Job! What is the FS version dude???? (I joke... great vid!)

  • Is het jullie zicht naar buiten nu net zo slecht als dat wij zien van de camera?

  • @mouthaan13 Nee ik keek door een stuk ruit waar de wisser wel goed was ;-)

  • SuredT: Thank you for your awesome Videos !

    You are the best !

  • SurdT, why would pilots call "flare" at 500 ft altitude callout? please answer! :)

  • @ToInfinity1 Tolnfinity1 i think i know why, its mabey because when somthing is headed towards earths atmosphere their is gravity right, and the gravity pulls down, so i guess at 500 ft altitude (if thats right) they will enter or break into the earth atmosphere and the gravity will be pulling them downwards so they have to slow down (if anything is hurdling towards eath at high speeds will burn up) and planes go pretty high places and are pretty fast :)

  • @sarah1234ize i think i know what you mean, you are talking about a shuttle approach! it's does burn when it enters the atmosphere but it's way way higher than 500 ft altitude! i just want to know at 500 ft cockpit altitude callout*, why would a guy say "flare" and the other say "check"...

  • @ToInfinity1 At 500 ft we don't say "flare", we say "cleared". Which means we are cleared for landing and the other pilot says "check" to confirm that he agrees with the fact that we are cleared to land.

  • @SuredT oh, my mistake! i thought you said "flare"... i get it now! Thanks a lot!

  • @sarah1234ize but thanks anyway :)

  • So much fun.

  • Wow, those windshield wipers really made a difference!

  • Great and interesting video as always, i like the way you decrease the reverse thrust:)

  • Your windscreen vipers are in need of replacement.

  • great video. I hope more videos from you. Thanks from Canary Islands.

  • What airline do you fly for?

  • @737Pilot122 KLM

  • Comment removed

  • which airline?

  • @xazns0ulx KLM

  • great video, love the night view. 744 rules !! :D

  • Hi!

I wondered if there isn't a chance of a stall when you approach with minimum speed in the rain?

  • So Im curious...i would love to become a commercial airline pilot....how long did it take you to get your commercial liscense....i have my private pilot liscense but how much more work would i have to do?

  • Did you write-up that windshield wiper?? Ha ha! Really enjoy your videos SuredT.

How often do you shoot a GPS approach?

  • Its hard to believe that sitting behind this view that we see in the video are maybe 300 passengers or more. Or do you fly Cargo?

What mind set do you get in when you fly a 747? When you are landing, Do you picture the aircarft in a 3rd person kinda perspective or do you just use what you see and not feel the rest of it behind you ? Sorry if that sounds a bit silly but i hope you can kind of understand what am trying to say

Amazing insight by the way Thanks!

  • @themiraiman Interesting thought. It's more or less "use what you see" and fly as smooth as possible for passenger comfort. Never has felt the "burden" of 400+ passengers sitting behind me.

  • @SuredT Never a burden when you have that much thrust i guess :) Thanks again, All your videos are ace!

  • which ILS CAT were you using I II III?

  • @efastMixer Cat I

  • SuredT, do you fly PH-BFE or PH-BFN?

  • @realisticsimulation Both and a couple of other registrations also ;-)

  • SuredT, im curious to how you flare the airplane. Do you fly it down 700-800 feet per minute and then at 30 feet raise the nose to make it touch down smoothely, or do you do it differently?

  • @zaphr89 No that's the way to do it.

  • @SuredT Thanks

  • looks like you need new wiper blades! :o

  • @SuredT Please record even in future a video like as landing in Bangkok with view on flying instrument.

  • Hi are you a captain? Cos I see the camera is placed on the left front window

  • Terrific; thanks for posting this. Rain-X works well on racing helmut visors... and even on street cars. Looks like Rain-X might help at KLM too. Would a product like that need to be certified before use or could some clever KLM maintenance manager just give it a try?

  • This landing effectuated first officer?

Someone who say: "landing" before or after callout minimums usually effectuate the landing.

    I have right?

  • @Rafal102able Yep

  • Wonderul, thanks for upload!

  • great!!!! thx for the vid!

Do you have any videos of landing in brussels national airport? (zaventem)

  • Yet another great vid. But, blimey those wiper blades need replacing :)

  • Great video! Was there a lot of turbulence or a crosswind or something? The nose of the plane seemed to b going up and down a lot more than usual.

  • finally u back!!!and also with a great video!!!! 5 stars

  • Once again another suburb video SuredT! I always get excited when a subscription email comes in!!!! Awesome footage.

  • Another great vid, thanks ! Thanks for sharing.

  • I am just wondering how you make your approach, do you use your GPS, or ILS, or something different?

  • @thatdonk3y ILS

  • Wederom een top video. Keep 'm coming!

  • Awesome video yet again :) Could you show the cockpit again like the landing in Bangkok video again? That was cool to see what really happens on the screens when landing.

  • Amazing once again. You post fantastic clips, thanks once again for posting.

  • HEY mate..cool video..n also kinda scary coz u barely can see anything for somtime..ae...but very cool n rare footage...!r you a pilot mate?

    loved ya videos..A+++++++++++++++++++++

  • You need some new wiperbades after that one !

  • Excellent!

  • Awesome as always :)

  • how do you know where the hell to land...

  • You don’t know how much your videos have helped me overcome my fear of flying. Last time I took a plane, after watching your vids, I felt safer… it’s good to know that some situations are not really that dangerous and that for you, the pilots, they’re part of the routine…

  • how many airplanes did you fly before the 747?

  • eheh nice vid :D

  • Amazing video thank you. I wish I would've paid more attention in school when I was young. Piloting looks so exiting. Hope my kids get the same interest in aviation is I have.

  • woop woop woop woop lol love that sound !

  • Great video!! Always happy when you upload one of your videos! That first part was pretty scary!! Man that rain was coming down hard!! Thanks again!

  • U PWN DUDE. PLEASE LET ME FLY WITH YOU ONE DAY!

  • Thanks SuredT. Get those wiper blades replaced, okay?

  • Heavy rain... where speedbrakes & spoilers *do* matter!... thanks for the video!

  • Thanks for this video as well as for all the others. I've just a question for you, a bit off-topic, maybe. You, as a pilot, how do you feel face to the dozens of Flight Simulator flight vidos shared here on Youtube? is it strange/weired, or just funny to watch one for you? thanks in advance

  • As always, thank you for those awesome videos!

  • Good video, thank you

  • Excellent!! Love it!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • what do pilots usually do after they have arrived at some airport? have they time to visit a town, to go to theatre or a pub? After crossing the Atlantic ocean you don't fly immediately back home, do you?

  • @Omatunto Pilots can only fly a maximum no. of hours(eg 8/day, 70/month, 1000/year though 8/day and 1000/year are the strictly followed rule) and have a limitation of the hours they can stay on the job(from the time you get to the airport to the time after landing you switch off and submit the documents) in a day. The regulation differs from country to country and ideally double the hours of flying time is the rest time. Hope this helps :)

  • Thank you very much. The 747-400 is my favourite plane and will always be. Too bad ive seen airlines already change them for other planes. Really bad. The 747 is the only big plane left that is still like "Flying" Not those too modern planes that airbus is building.

  • @roxetterc747 How is the A380 not like "flying"? We have changed out Boeing aircraft for Airbus because they're cheaper to maintain. It's simple economics, honestly.

  • Great cockpit video! Just how I like 'em! Thankyou :o)

  • Great as always!

  • sured t capt, your a hero to you tube fans, gives us that special insite we wood never see thank you

  • Great vid! But don't you call "Landing" a bit too early before minimums? I tought that pilots use to call the landing decision at minimums. (In any case, the runway was clearly insight and the decision of course was landing)

You do have a new subscriber ;)

  • @SuredT What a wind did you have during this landing?
