It's great, but it's a depressing song about emptiness and the things young people do to try to cover it up.

The melody sounds happy, but it mirrors the acts the characters put on. The guy needs to get drunk to feel good, the girl is caught in superficial vanities, and they'll both feel awful the next morning.

One-night stands are fun, but then you go home the next morning and find yourself no closer to a meaningful connection than when you started out.
