@pigeonpsycho War can be honorable and glorious, but not always. War can make children parentless and widows out of newly married ladies.
I'm not one of those who opose war and thinks that we shouldn't fight wars, but we shouldn't fight people causelessly. We can't just declare war on other nations just because we think it would be fun to say 'I've fought in a real war'.
@lesmiseponine War! War! War! Ever notice how people cheer on their armies like football teams? They say shit like ' we beat you ' or ' we saved your ass ' when the average person did nothing but stuff their face and watch tv?
@pigeonpsycho If you read any history book, they'll tell you that people were patriotic, and excited to start a war with whatever country. But when they taste the bitter taste of war and what it can do to their loved ones, they wish they never made the rash decision.I mean look at Germany at the middle of WW2. They were all regretting that they'd started that war. All I'm trying to say is war is not a fun thing. It's not something to crave. In the end it affects everybody and their way of life.
@woo1693 It wasn't an officially sanctioned trip. He applied for a leave of absence in 1863 because he, like a lot of other officers, was interested in the American Civil War. Most officers didn't do much about their interest but he decided to take a trip to the South.
This is an AMAZING video!! I think this is one of the best movies nexted to Gods and Generals. And the music in epic. What can I say? I'm a civil war buff!
@collegefootballrulez The curious fact is, being Randy Edelman, the whole music is probably synthesizer generated, since is the way he usually works. So, it would only take a guy with a good electronic keyboard and synths to reproduce it!
4:10 In my opinion, award winning line

To put it plainly, war is NOT a game.

@XPhile10131121 Bah! Close enough. Haha, I remember he was an observer. Why was he there? England kept her neutrality.

When the part comes up where only the drum beat is heard a teacher is going to read the Gettysburg Address, pretty epic.
