  • One major indicator of a great band is that NO ONE else sounds like them. One of a kind. Classic master piece. Blessed to have them and their music. Peace!

  • *sigh* Justin *sigh* Still a hottie after four decades of music!!!

  • good song

  • So good indeed. ;)

  • Last year I son Jamie passed away on Thanksgiving day after a long battle,to live. Tuesday afternoon was part of his life and times music that his Uncle Stan made as part of the video. While time has come and the seasons are changing, when we are morning, we play this song and it gives us the life to continue on this journey. We will be in Charlotte, NC to see and hear this wonderful band on March 28 and Jamie will be there in spirit. Hope to see the band and remember. Thanks Southern Patriot

  • MOODY BLUES, WILL LIVE ON THREW THE AGE'S. TREVOR WATTS......

  • Bitch i'm 18, i understand music, it's not about age or the "New wave" of kids and how generations change. It's whether or not a person is smart. Stupid fucks listen to stupid music.

  • Thanks to kloudzjia for your kind words . Indeed the word and music brings peace, joy and harmony within the universe While we''ll never under our loses, the music bring a smile to our faces of better time. Indeed we know that "He is out there somewhere. Thanks again.

  • im 16, and moody blues is one of my favorite bands. I cant take take the shit that they call music nowadays, its sickening. I wish i was alive for this. Alive so i could witness the beatles , hendrix, these guys, howard jones, talking heads, earth eind and fire, pearl jam, stone temple pilots, dave matthews and all the other amazing groups. its ashame for me to be part of a generation that thinks katy perry is music

  • Our son Jamie passed away on thanksgiving day and we had a video made about him and his family. This wonderful groups music played at his funeral and made the day feel"good". It was fitting that he was buried on Tuesday Afternoon. Thanks guy's for making a terrible day seem brighter and keeping us at peace. Fans forever. Peace be with you all.. Southern Patriot

  • @jason83ist God bless you .Moody Blues are neat people, gentle souls and classy guys. I wish you peace.

  • I don't know what the guy above is talking about that nobody had used a symphony in rock music this came out after Sgt. Pepper and you can hear the influence at 3:10 not to take anything away from them great band great progressive band but not the first.

  • Most overlooked band in history(R&R Hall of Fame)and most overlooked songwriter/performer(Justin Hayward)....shame!

  • July 4, 2012 Rally at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to get the Moody Blues inducted. Please bring signs. Pressure with numbers should get it done. Its about time, don't you think?

  • These guys stick with it, and they might have a future in music

  • sounds familiar...Tuesday"

  • watched the play several years ago here in Peoria Il, with the Peooria symphony orchestra. Took my then teenage son with me. He was impressed as well. I really appeciated the combined concert with the symphony. Still have video's of the concert at Red Rock in Colorado. Wish I could fnd a video of the Peoria concert.

  • This is a legendary band I enjoyed their music in the 60's and they are still rocking today, few bands can claim this accolade, rock on Moodies

  • these guys are fossals and can still rock your socks off.

  • the song still moves me and you still amazes me.

Happy 65th birthday mr justin hayward. (Oct 14th)

  • 12 Dislikes ... WHAT ? They were probably looking for (C) RAP and stumbled on this by accident !

  • Really amazing, after all those years.!!

  • OMG OMG OMG

    What an incredible LIVE version

one of the BEST live versions of ANY SONG EVER

    very well done !

makes me want to hear zeps "KASHMIR" next.

(now thats the BEST complement i could possibly ever give a song)

    ITS THAT AMAZING !

  • ...Rock On ....Legends.....

  • So good it brings tears to my eyes.

Days Of Future Past was so far beyond its time that I am not even sure time has caught up.

  • Got lucky and saw the Moody Blues just a few years ago (2006) in tiny Jacksonville Oregon at the Brittfest. The band was as good as ever!

  • What young people cannot imagine today is the extraordinary effect on music that "Days of Future Passed" had when it came out. Prior to that point nobody ever dared to "crossover" rock music as a symphony. We hippies were astonished and the "straight" necktie wearing folks were totally stunned. It played over and over on the "underground" FM stations for a year.

Turn the lights off, put the album on, lie on the carpet, close your eyes and blow your mind. You won't even need grass, man.

  • @KaptKan1 Well, you should consider yourself lucky, being able to experience the start of progressive rock

  • @KaptKan1 I agree with you so much! The Moody Blues were/are terrific! We played On the Threshhold of a Dream over & over & over & over.....changed my view on music from then on. I love about everything they did in the 7 core albums. I see them every chance I get.

  • this is my first fathers day without my dad, and this the first band he got me into and the first band i saw live. i remember when he got me the lyrics/usic books of the moody blues for christmas. he was mad cause i kept him and my mom up all night singing the songs full blast when i was 12. im 28 now and i still love the moody blues. thank you dad for instilling great music in my life. i love you forever....beyond forever

  • 12 people can kiss my arse!!!!

  • 12 people can kiss my ass!!!!

  • PBS tv sponsered a concert a few years ago and they have a DVD of their concert

that you can buy. Love these guys. Probably can find one on here with better sound.

  • beautiful

  • Amazing. They sound the same ... even better now...

  • "Forever Afternoon, perhaps Tuesday?" that's the name of this sona as it appears on the Days of Future Past credits. FYI

  • @italianray69 It's not really a "song" but part of the world's first (and only, really) rock symphony.

  • quand je pense que j ai le vynil d epoque il y a de quoi rever

  • Tuesday afternoon just me and my daughter. She on the playground and my head in the clouds thinking about our tomorrows.

  • June 9th 2011, I get to see this from the 13th row center!!

  • OMG one of his best songs ever! the trees are drawing me near I got to find out why......... love this

  • Sounds better now then when he was younger

  • I lost a girlfriend to the Moody Blues. She went on tour with the band "Classical violinist" I wish her well! Great opprotunity

  • They'd never get through the Simon Cowell X-Factor test

  • Justin, I wanna have your baby!

  • That is one beautiful guitar.

  • What a magnificent collaboration amongst fine talent !!

  • I purchased a gold collectors edition of Threshold of a Dream, And In Search Of the Lost Chord. I broke In Search Of. These things were like $35.00 20 years ago. Those are my favorite two albums, not that there is not good stuff on the others. But these were magic.

  • TUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • One of the greatest songs and bands ever!!!

  • Hauntingly Beautifull!!I rode that see-saw during those wonderfull years........Still ridin'

  • It's really a shame they don't tour with the orchestras anymore. They are still fantastic in concert, but the orchestras added just that little bit extra that made it phenomenal!

  • @Majerleigh - when we saw them in the mid '90s, they had our local symphony as their back up and it was just wonderful! Probably cheaper for them, but also gives local symphonies their due, as well. I'm hoping they'll come back soon.

  • Thanks for helping me re-live their show at the O2 this weekend, consistently still the very BEST!!!

  • LOVE

  • bellisimoooooooooooooooooo

  • In The USA... this song was released , not as a single, but on The Days of Future Passed Album....2 weeks before Christmas 1968 in Columbus Ohio.......I remember so well because Led Zeppelin 1 album was released the same day at the record stores.... Led Zep 1 was like an atomic bomb in the US... .... somewhat overshadowing this masterpiece...BUT I loved this one....1st band to use a smyphony orchestra on stage live ..on that day I became a Moody's Lover for Life

  • @rockncleve I wish I could thumbs-up this all the way to the top of the page.

  • wayback to 1967 and it's still sounds so strong

  • @budelke And STILL sounds as good as the original! I know...I've been there throughout this phenominal band's career!

  • Great. Where was this concert filmed at?

  • @allynbyrd The Royal Albert Hall

  • "Formidable.....!" apres-midi, mardi...

  • Aaaah. I grew in a small town-our entertainment was a trip to the local coffee shop that had a juke box. You got 3 songs for a quarter (1967). I played this song 3 times for a quarter-every day. I've heard it a million times since. Still love it-one of the best songs ever recorded. The best treats I have had in my life is to see them do it live. Sometimes in life you get a treat.

  • I love this song. This is a beautiful version of it.

  • Thank The Force that the Moody Blues have been able to grace us with their music for so many years!

  • The most technically perfect live version of this song I've ever heard from them. A flawless performance by the orchestra and the band. And such a soulful and joyous song.

  • Good god. That must be like a 32 fret bass neck

  • this is a great song!!! I wish i could have grown up in the 60's. The cars, the music, the way of life.. Same with the 40's and 5'0's. thats when america was america. i am 27 years old and hate vthe way things are today

  • @chrisjc82 Yes..... once upon a time, it certainly was GREAT !!

  • ....... Legends...Having Fun.....

  • Just fantastic, the way their music should be played. Sad to go to their concerts and see the members that are gone...Mike and now Ray...Graeme was celebrating his 70th when I saw them in Orlando March 8th Great concert!

  • the moodys to me far better than the beatles. and i love the beatles

  • No one else can do this song.

  • I saw the Moody's on my 21st birthday and on my 61st birthday...now I plan to see them on my 101st birthday (wink)...I sure hope it is a Tuesday

  • This guy has and awsome voice

  • lyricly, i wish i could swim to a sky of blue water to this timeless and beautiful

  • very nmice song! done a take of this my self on my channel love the moody blues

  • oooo i sang this version on my channel moody blues are great

  • great stuff i loved this i sang it on my channel enjoyed it to.

  • ...breath deep the gathering gloom..watch lights fade in every room...it is a beautiful Tuesday.

Hayward is absolutely great..and you can see how Lodge enjoys what he's doing...even looks a little "funky"..with his moves and smiles..

  • Today is a beautiful Tuesday.

  • I have a magnificent live version of this song from the Jay Leno show recorded on VHS tape, but I don't know how to transfer it with quality to my computer and then to YouTube.

  • There are several moments here of true beauty, transcendent and romantic. One of those moments when pop-rock music achieves greatness and takes one off into a sort of paradise.

  • Gracias to some of my favorite Tommies.

  • FABULOUS!

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! 50 years after the fact and still just as breathtaking!

Thanks for giving a 25yo---who can't stand the crap being played on the radio today---something to listen to!

  • Saw them 10 years ago with the Fargo symphony orchestra. They opened with this, the whole 7-minute version..and encored with "ride my see-saw." INCREDIBLE. Hayward and Lodge were at their extreme best, and both with their patented puffy, very-white English shirts. Man oh man...

  • @Neno8403 You've got taste!

  • @Neno8403 Was this really 50 years after the fact? Hard to believe. I know how you feel. There was a factor back then that hated the orchestral accompaniment. ELO, Moody Blues, Styx, etc. There was something in these opponents who just wanted raw rock, while there were people making music to last a lifetime. You go right from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday and nights in white satin. Seamless. They don't encourage this type of musicianship any more.....

  • does anyone know if this concert in on a CD?

  • Yes. It's their "Hall of Fame" CD.

  • great thank you, how about DVD?

  • Yes, there's a DVD too.

  • I believe the DVD is "Live at Royal Albert Hall"

  • @Parrothead71988 Yes, thats correct, the year was 2000.After seeing the video here,I just had to go out and buy it , you wont find a better one of the Moodys.Cant wait till they come to Europe.

  • Absolutely a hauntingly beautiful piece of music. Never get tired of the Moody Blues.

  • This concert is great. I've got it playing in the car.. Never get tired of ot..

  • Saw the Moody Blues in 1971...I was 17! That explains it all I guess..They were a signal band at the forefront of a movement towards freedom of thought, spirit, and feeling....such a truly great thing & I think it/s all coming back again...if ever so slowly....The Moody's are positively A+....they lack for nothing!

  • I will be seeing these guys in March at the Wellmont in Montclair, NJ and am counting down the days! I can hardly wait! If anybody want to meet beforehand to have a few drinks and talk MBs then just let me know.

  • Beautiful!!!!!!!

  • .....Legends....Having Fun......

  • I grew up listening to the moody blues. My dad's favorite group and mine too. Listen to the lyrics. Such meaning and so beautiful. There will never be a time like this again or a band like the moody blues unfortunately but at least we still have this music to listen to today. Today's music has no meaning behind it, such crap. No band today could touch the moody blues. Not even close! What a phenomenal band of their time and still today!

  • they are fantastic... still sexy as shit..

tell your dad I love him..

  • @Starlitblond I could not agree more! Their music is just amazing and they have not ever lost their touch...and yes they are still sexy as shit arent they? :)) I will tell my dad what you said when i visit his grave next week. He passed away 6 years ago but he is in my heart everyday and he introduced me to so many wonderful bands from the 60's and 70's when i was growing up. I thank him for that. Moody Blues forever!! :))

  • a nice mellow song

  • anyone know the venue this is played in? what a brilliant performance by an extraordinary group. the moody blues will transcend time.

  • @Petesburgh they are at Royal Albert Hall

  • This is the best they have ever sounded, lots of help, but they do sound great still after all these years

  • The Moody Blues fused classical music, rock and pure poetry

    Nothin like it since.....

    AWESOOOOOME !!!!!

  • On the other side of the spectrum: Emerson Lake and Palmer. Less Poetry perhaps, more Jazz and experiment. Love them both. They come together nót being in the Hall of fame. :)

  • @ramseymarkf

Progressive Rock took us in a whole new musical direction... much the same way as early Jazz. and Swing did.

Now it seems we have lost our way..........

  • I live in CO and went to see this - absolutely farrrrrrrrrrrrrrr out! It was awesome to see them again!

  • This is one of my brother-in-laws favourite. But not really my taste

  • Comment removed

  • How many dirt bag groups can you name that now have a place in the Rock Hall of Fame ? Now name a rock band that after 40 Plus years of awesome music has not been Inducted ? Yep, The Moody Blues ! That crap hole will have No Cred with me till they are Inducted. Is there a Petition out there somewhere ?

  • Be proud. They are in very good company there. Not mainstream, real music!

  • ....Moodys ....Like Fire Flickering....On The Stage.....Legends Having Fun....

  • lOVE THE BAND AND THEIR SONGS! ESPECIALLY THIS SONG! NOW THEY ARE USING IT IN A COMMERCIAL!

  • I saw the Moody Blues for my 21 st bday. That was the best present ever!

  • Still great after all these years !!!

  • A CLASSIC -THAT WILL LIVE FOREVER!

  • I think I will allways Hate Tuesday afternoons,

  • ahh fuck you!!

  • after seeing the visa commerical, brought me to find the song on youtube. it is a classic and i am so glad to hear it again

  • Justin Hayward wrote some of the most timeless songs!!

  • They are more handsome than any other band their age and their music is timeless. Not only do I love this song, so does Visa. Going to see them tonight!

  • It's very good. It's a classic.

  • Tahada, the first times I heard this song was when it was used as bumper music for a ski show on one our local TV stations; it wasn't until several years later that I found out it was the Moody Blues--and heard the full version. It was, and still is, a favorite of mine after 39 years.

This version sounds just as good as the first time I heard it.

  • im 14, and im going to see them on the 26th!!!! sooooo excitedddd <3333

  • i saw them yesterday

  • I'm a product of the 60's and I thank the good Lord everyday for letting me experience real music. I don't know if I'm sorry for today's attempt at it or ashamed !

  • @kimsanda I'm a product of the 1970's and agree with you. Today's entertainers lack either the raw material (voice), talent (ability to play instruments, write music, or vision (How many bands have the vision and talent to play with a full orchestra?? (Fleetwood Mac pulled that off as did the Moody Blues)

Could you imagine a Britney Spears or a rapper trying this???

  • @jmlst no, many of today's mainstream artists are more about stupid tricks and gimmicks. they're not about sophistication or pop craftmanship. record companies aren't interested in that either. no one could create something like this or "nights in white satin". indie bands could do that but can't reach audiences that wide and such. the moody blues are underrated and deserve to be in the rock hall. unfortunately, that place is full of snobs so fuck the rock hall.

  • @thevoid99 Oh Yeah!

  • i dearly miss my Tuesday afternoons with love & T.

  • wow i heard this song on a cruise ship commercial and was immediately addicted

    i love it :D

but im too young to see when it first came out but i t was nice to read you guy's stuff about it in the 80s
