  • i knew he had a Bowie influence before i ever heard this (which is right now)

    ...now it's confirmed :)

  • oui! :)

    Excellent version

  • This would be right next to Bowie's version, except for the fact that there is no screaming John Lennon in the chorus.

  • dude shut the fuck up, scott can do anything better than david bowie. bowie is for fucking lady gaga fans. POSERS!!!!. scott is real and still kickin ass and everything he accomplished makes herion look cool.

  • This needs to be on fucking Entourage .. God Damn it .. Fucking incredible Scott Weiland is the shit

  • good beat

  • Look it...I don't like David Bowie AT ALL. But I always thought that this song had great potential to be amazing. Dear Scott, THANK YOU for adding the needed ingredients that, for me, were missing. This is a great jam.

  • What's your name what's your name?

    Fame!

  • He is very talented. It is too bad he ca't kick his drug addictions.

  • @FBonifay

haha he did. he just has a drinking problem :)

  • Yeah haters can suck it. This cover rocks.

  • I love scott weiland!!!! he's so sexy!!!!

  • i love scott and stp. this is a very scott/bowie fucked up song. i like it man. this has that kinda funky/trippy scott's hips in your face wether you like it or not vibe. very cool. loose. hip. do it. one of my fav songs on the record.

  • damn groovy and funky rick james woulda been PROUD...

  • @dirtylilpig98 what?

  • @spaceeskimo11t don't worry about it it doesn't concern u : )

  • I feel like only scott could've pulled this off!

  • You know, I would've never figured ANYBODY would cover this song, let alone Scott Weiland, but I think he did an awesome job on this. To me Happy in Galoshes is only Missing Cleveland and Fame

  • WTF does drug use have to do with anything? Some of the mos distressed people on earth are musicians. Hence drugs ,hence the reason behind the need to express through song. Let's not forget..Bowie had as much of a problem in the 70's with coke as Scott has with Heroin! Listen to the music. Who really cares about a persons drug use? I guess the need to feel superior?

  • Bowie is part of the genesis of Weiland's sound, as with so many artists that came about in the 80s and 90s, so this cover makes sense. I like it.

  • Pretty good cover. Could anyone explain why they dislike it other than just Scott used drugs?

  • scott weiland is so fucking lame. none of his shit is original anymore. probably because he's so fucking stoned all the time.

  • You're talking pure BS. Yeah he had a bad run in with drugs, but Scott helped revolutionize rock in the mid 90s.

  • I see both of your points. Personally I think Scott with the DeLeo brothers blows Scott without the DeLeo brothers out of the water.

  • all i gotta say is scott weiland is the man. I love his music solo artist or not. STP is all time greatest in my book. Velvet Revolver- bad ass. Happy- amazing cd

  • check tommy lee version of this cover, tommy does it a whole lot better , is this album worth buying>>>??? ive heard alot of mixed reviews of it

  • It's really kind of boring, especially when compared to his first solo album.

  • This is the only good sng on the album, and it's a cover...

  • This is one of two good songs off of this album. I think Missing Cleveland is an awesome tune.

  • Guys you know who we sing songs of the artst we love? Well thats what hes doing. He LOVES Bowie dude.Remember the Grammys when he had that RED ass hair? He did what we do.I love him so much...Ill marry him one day!

  • this is an amazing cover. I don't see why people don't like it.

  • i´m writing to answer for every musician. people who waste time saying "how he sang bad, etc" are mostly people who dont even understand how a studio and the process of writing or singing some other artists music works. some people who know scott´s life grabb the oportunity to treat him as a looser in his career.LISTEN TO "you got no right", and that´s the answer for all you punks who talk about a theme you don´t know. You´re the loosers.

  • Right on dude!

  • Some people here don´t know about music, and don´t know some kind of songs begg for those kinds of methods like auto-tuner. it´s not a cover, it´s an interpretation. Scott did it ´cause he wanted it for too long, for sure. I´m a musician and there are some songs from my favorite artists I wish I could play, but sometimes playing it different doesn´t mean it sounds great, so If you really want to do it the answer is playing it just the way it is. It´s just for pure personal fun.

  • you all suck weiland rocks it out

  • Is STP gonna be making another album? i thought i had heard that. It probably won't be anything like this because it said that happy was just a concept album on the CD case.

  • they are, just read it on blabbermouth, 2010 coming!

  • nice, i bet the album will be good. at least that gives me something to look forward to in 2010.

  • Scott Weiland is an amazing artist. It is too bad he could not kick his heroin addiction, and stay in Velvet Revolver. I hope the future will treat him well. Losing him to heroin would be a big loss to the music industry and the world.

  • Just like Kurt Cobain

  • Not too bad. I dig it. I'm more a fan of the cover by God Lives Underwater though.

  • scott weiland fell quite a bit since his days in stp

  • this remix is wrong in all the wrong places, cheesy and limp like discarded junk food. weiland is a fucking douchebag for even thinking he could try this.

  • I guess your anger should be directed at Paul Oakenfold, after all, he created the remix. Considering Oakenfold is well regarded for his remixes I guess you're the douchebag for having your information and your taste presented like discarded like junk food.

  • that's right, no one is allowed to criticise someone who occasionally makes good remixes. if oakenfold butchered this then it must be good! it reflects pretty badly on someone who is 'well regarded' to contribute to this in any way.

  • it could be worst. An actual rapper could have sang it

  • hahahaha

  • oh what was he thinking with those neutered hip-hop drums and the flaccid guitar and the wiki-wiki-whack scratching. i especially like the auto-tuner during the descending falsetto.

  • "auto-tuner", "descending falsetto"?

    1. Go listen to the original

    2. Come back and retract your comments

    3. Avoid making foolish comments in the future.

  • "descending falsetto" meaning when fame is repeated over and over in a descending pitch

"auto tuner" meaning apparent pitch correction used in the song

    1. I was saying he didn't do the original justice.

    2. Fuck you.

    3. Numbered lists are for stupid assholes.

  • fucking douche bags that keep talking shit about weiland then please don't fucking comment or listen to the song i don't wanna hear you wine fucking shit heads and i don't care who you are weiland is better than bowie fuck off piece of shits

  • "weiland is better than bowie"

    AHAAHAHHAHAH

    HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

    HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

    No.

  • lol

    no.

  • yeah obviously scott is a huge fan of bowie and not the other way around. Regardless his voice sounds great on this and hey i think it's fun....just a song guys let's not blow it out of proportion.

  • @Aliceinchainhead I love it man!! Fuck yeah Weiland is the best fuckin vocalist this world has ever known! Fuck all the haters, they just know it and cant stand it! Go Weiland and STP long live great music!!!

  • @Aliceinchainhead I love me some Stone Temple Pilots, but Scott is nowhere near better than Bowie. Bowie R teh KICKASS! .....So is Scott, but Bowie more.

  • @Aliceinchainhead - Right on brother.

  • @Aliceinchainhead - Wouldn't say Weiland is BETTER then Bowie but Scott Weiland is one of the most influential musicians of our time. They are equally just as good. However, sadly some people won't accept that fact and continue to make comparison after comparison. Yes I just replied to a 2 year old comment. Lol.

  • WHY?!?!? WHY?!?! Thanks alot, now I can never listen to David Bowie again, which is a shame because hes fucking awesome. especially when compared to this douchebag.

  • gay club music

  • Nice.

  • kinda annoying

  • Jim Morrison of the 21st century. STP World tour!!!!!! Come on the world is waiting.......

  • Weiland can do no wrong in my book.

He is the modern David Bowie.

    Please stay clean.

  • freakin cool cover...

  • Great 4 Kym to dance 2

  • I like it:]

  • this is good, but i like the original better

  • Sorry, this cover doesn't do it for me.

  • holy shit

  • i love this one man its GREAT lol

  • eerie

  • I agree with some of the previous comments. Scott's voice is amazing on this one.

  • you just gotta love Scott's voice in this.

  • Scott's voice sounds awesome here! Great mix as well!

  • Rob Thomas, also loves Bowie so Matchbox Twenty covered this many years ago. He also covered "modern love" and did an awesome job.

  • this is ba ass

  • Cool David Bowie cover. I think it's the first time it's been covered, right?

  • Im Pretty sure this is the first time its been covered, seeing that Bowie is Scotts Major influence! He sounds a lot like bowie when hes not trying to sound like bowie!

  • He is usually trying to sound like Bowie these days...or John Lennon

  • i dont think he is trying to sound like anyone, he is just being Scott! he just comes off that way, i think Scott is a genius who doesnt get the recognition he deserves!

  • god lives underwater covered it like 6 or 7 years ago i think. was on the soundtrack to that pacino movie 15 minutes
