@PivotDreamArt That's Nintendo's problem to figure out. It won't be on PC because Nintendo is very protective of their IP's and they want their IP's to be on their consoles.
@lordofice72 Your right. Well there you have the answer as to why they haven't attempted it yet. If the MMORPG isn't on the PC it's gona be crap. There is no way they will be able to make a 3D open world RPG with all the regions, and all of the features people think should be in the game. It will be extremely limited. So unless we see a Nintendo OS or "Nintendo LapTop" of some kind, it's not gona happen, or it won't be the same as what we are talking about here.
@lordofice72 Wii U looks honestly doubt there will be a successful MMO on anything but PC. At least in a traditional sense. Nintendo will obviosly come up with something (if they ever want it on Wii U) but it won't be what we think it will be. If you want an MMO like WoW (Massive Open world, hotkeys, lots of playstyles, features options, "skinner boxy" things) it's got to be on the PC
Pokemon MMORPG would be sweet. Just as some positive feed back you seem a little nervous also i could see your winging some of it which made you studier a bit and making your ideas a bit unclear. Nice vid i support your idea.
Around 8:30 you mentioned how in-depth you can get with pokemon and I have to say I agree. If you've ever played competitively, the entire game is based around predictions, strategies, and overall outplaying your opponent. And all of this coming from the game with the main storyline consisting of spamming one button.
An MMORPG for Pokemon would be awesome. What I would like to see is them make the battles real-time and use voice commands. I think they could also use the plots from all the games and make it really interesting. Plus make leveling up a little more intensive. You know, make it so you need more exp to get from say level 1 to level 2.
A f2p pokemon mmorpg would be perfect for the wii U depending on how Nintendo's online functions is this year, charging for online would turn off some of the potential players who would want to join. Agree with everything apart from the price but that's another topic and yes this game is long overdue.
@TheZonegamer If it's an MMORPG then it's most likely going to be subscription based. Servers cost money and Nintendo will need that constant cash flow to keep them up and running. I guess they could make F2P up to a certain level and then you'll have to pay for it. Just like with what Blizzard did with WoW.
why wouldnt it make a profit if it were less money?. i mean wouldnt they get much more traffic if everyone has acess to it? cheap is good . not everyone has $60 or $10- $15 a month. i mean they made profit from wii and when they made it affordable for everyone. why would i pay for it when there are tons of other fan made mmorpgs for free. just sayin.. im mean they could have it f2p but have things you can purchase to in game andsuch . like dcu is f2p now.
@gam3rsd3light It doesn't really matter what price they set it at so long as it's not too ridiculous. People will buy it no matter what for the most part. I know I'd gladly pay $60 for a yearly subscription.
oh and also i prefer it be PC only and then eventually port to the wii or wiiu or w.e next gen console is out for nintendo. i don't think it would be a good port onto the 3DS.
i've wanted a mmorpg for pokemon from nintendo for years but never spoke on it via the internet because i dont yet have an audience lol . the only thing i disagree with you is the $10 a month smh . i'd rather it be F2P so everyone could play. or like a yearly subscription like 25$ for the year etc. i have played some fan made ones but i'd like an official non buggy release from nintendo
@gam3rsd3light It will never be F2P. The game has to turn a profit and that means subscriptions. It also won't be $25 a year. That's way too cheap. To put this in perspective, Xbox Live costs $60 a year and World of Warcraft charges $77.94 for six months. If a Pokemon MMO does come out it'll probably about $10-15 a month.
VERY interesting ideas here. I like the thought of creating your own character (much like Battle Revolution) and I'd VERY much love the chance to create a character akin to Wes from Colosseum -my favorite pokemon game ever, thanks to its plot-based gameplay, which is something I'd LOVE to see in another game. I think that creating your own gym is an awesome idea, and perhaps plot-driven DLC or events for those of us like me who'd rather participate in plot-driven action rather than pvp.
I can't really see Pokemon doing a MMORPG...but thats probably because my brain is used to Nintendo doing the same thing for Pokemon nonstop since I was 5 years old. I agree, it would be a good idea.
I think a nice touch would be the TMs, actually have someone or get instructions of how to teach your pokemon moves.
Another idea is advanced dodging and countering (AD/C), where you make one of your pokemon do a move on another one of your or another person's pokemon and give the second pokemon experience on how to dodge or counter said move and also give the first pokemon experience fighting a particular style of AD/C used by a pokemon or trainer.
to be honest if that would happen it would be on the pc. It would be like saying wow is an the 360. So it would havve to be on the pc for what you want.
@ExplodingBanana1 Well Nintendo has already gone on record to say that the WiiU will be as powerful as the 360 and PS3 if not more powerful. Let's hope they can back up that statement.
Start an online petition, re-do your video and send the petition and video links to anyone you can that even remotely relates to Nintendo. Tag this NEW video containing graphed details, petition link, to all of Nintendo's videos as a video response. Send the new video link to me. I'd Love to the improvement.
Alright. I watched. All I kept hearing was, "I, I, I, I, I." What about the rest of us? Ask what your viewers what they would like a Pokemon MMORPG to contain. Also, you kept telling Nintendo (because I'm sure that's who this video is originally pointed towards) all of this work they need to do however, you haven't told them ONCE how you would contribute. Perhaps make a graph containing all of these different details of what people would like. What percentage of people like this, etc...Lastly,
Suggestions: Dress Pokemon, Alternate patterns based on Nicknames (Stadium) or reigion so not all the pokemon look the same. As for the Gyms: make the custom gyms COM controlled so maintenance isn't an issue. Just grab some friends, create a League (Server), create a Gym (Room), set Pokemon, and let it play. You can earn records.
But no Anime implementation, It gets dull and it'll get too kiddy. A neutral environment is good for everyone, so non-anime fans aren't turned away.
Also, limit the Legendaries to promotions, so not every team would be overpowered.
As for why they don't have one in the works or why they wouldn't do it: MONEY!!! Nintendo makes a lot of money off of Pokemon, especially with it being a more portable franchise.
Other than that, Nintendo has always had that passion for people playing together in the same room, not over the internet. It's more fun to have friends in the same room with you.
@TheDrunkenwhale I think Nintendo needs to develop a passion for online gaming like Sony and Microsoft have. The fact that Nintendo has not done this makes me think they're stuck in past and need to get with the times. I want the WiiU to be on par with other consoles when it comes to online and a Pokemon MMORPG would do just that.
@lordofice72 If they add Red, it'll basically be something along the lines of Gold/Silver/HeartGold/SoulSilver with Red being the toughest trainer, perhaps as a challenge battle or something like that, where his team is nearly impossible to beat.
Pokemon would be so much more epic like that. I've been playing since Pokemon Crystal and now I'm a better trainer than Ash. It'd be a cool idea if they did do this for an airport. You'd take each plane to a different region and Skyla sometimes. I think also it'd be cool to have your Pokemon to appear at a Professor's lab like in the anime where you actually see them moving around and stuff.
the show last one i saw was ash vs paul.dude pokemon battles got fucking epic i was like wtf o.o i thought i was watching a part of naruto and dragon ball z lol. and a mmo would sell like fucking crazy sure this is a great idea
Lol I was thinking a PC MMO, then at the end he came in with DS or Wii -.- How would they ever fit a MASSIVE open world MMO like that on a DS? x)
